Bridal BPAL - BPAL for weddings?

I am thinking of wearing Nocturne...even though it's a Funereal Oil...it's just beautiful, soft, and girly. It also brings to my mind a soft blue color which is one of the colors I'm using in the wedding. ETA: Another one of the Funereal Oils comes to mind, too - Twilight! It is my first BPAL love and it would also be a perfect one to wear when I marry my first and only true love.

    Bathsheba

I just got this as a frimp in my latest order and it HAD to go on. I was kind of nervous because musks don't seem to fare well on me (they seem to go bitter), but this time it fared well! Maybe because of the other two ingredients listed? Anyways, it turned into this sweet and sexy second skin type of smell and I am considering ordering a bottle of this because it's so intoxicating. This is the female version of Laudanum (even though this scent is labeled "gender neutral" it turns into a more feminine scent on me...hmm, wonder what the Boy would smell like with this...**goes into mad scientist mode**) Anyways, I would highly recommend this scent if you like sweet, sexy, second skin type of scents.

    Butch yet not manly scents?

I second Laudanum...it's GORGEOUS...I love it on my boy, but I could wear it too and it is on the butcher side of things (gods, that sounds odd, eh?)

    Nyx

Let me say this first and foremost, I LOVE jasmine. I'm not a girly-girl, but this flower lets me feel powerful and girly! Anyways, since Jasmine seems to be very present in this scent I LOVE it, I tried it yesterday once and then tried it again today and just HAD to buy a bigger bottle - even contemplated on a HUGE bottle, but my finances wouldn't allow it... . Something that surprised me about this is that there is a HINT of rose, but it's just that - a hint and on me the myrrh doesn't seem to show itself other than a darkening of the jasmine. SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL! ETA: This is another one of those scents that gave me a "vision" where I felt transported to a house in a humid southern town with a swamp out back. Very interesting - This is the second scent I've found that has done this (the other being Twilight - maybe it's the jasmine?)

    Ouija

I am not really a rose wearing girl, but the lilacs and woodnotes really tempered it down. The rose wasn't all that noticeable in this on me which was good. This scent was definitely beautiful and I really enjoyed wearing this, but alas on me it faded within a couple of hours, so I probably won't be getting a big bottle, but thanks Lab for letting me expand my horizon and letting me know that rose in small amounts is wearable for me!

    Strawberry Moon 2005

I put it on and instantly was transported back to playing with my strawberry shortcake dolls! But this scent was EVEN BETTER - more real than the plastickyness of the dolls, but the strawberry and creaminess was all there just like the dolls had. I was relishing it, but then my fiance had a sniff and he was all over the scent "Mmmmmm, you smell SOOOOO good!" Definitely a scent for strawberry lovers!

    Hemlock

Hemlock to me smelled of pine needles and lemon verbena. Both on my skin and in the imp - I'm in love with the smell - if I could smell like this every day I would! In fact, I may have to...hmmm...Beautiful scent, especially if you like "green" ones!

    Spooky

Oh, wow...I opened the bottle upon arrival - I couldn't wait to put some on - and was greeted with a astringent minty "hello" and then a coconut said hi and I just KNEW it must be put on right away! On it went and: Wet: I smelled the mint and coconut and rum...mmmmm (as a side note as soon as I put it on the Boy took a sniff and said "RUM! There's RUM in there!") and it was GORGEOUS. I couldn't stop sniffing myself. After it soaked in: still the mint, coconut, and rum, but more smoothly blended together. Still quite strong. I kept on telling the boy that I'm in love with myself because I smelled so good! A couple hours later: STILL going quite strong but now more softer on the mint and the rum is gone, but the coconut is still there soft and sweet. Next morning: WOW - I can STILL smell it! But now it is just the soft coconut that just wafts near my skin - apparently it reminds the Boy of the good times he had when on vacation with his family in Mexico. Me, I just smell soft and sweet. I'm sad that I didn't buy another bottle or two because well - it would have been worth it, but as I don't have a lot of disposable income I feel very lucky to be able to have my 5ml to worship.

    Replacing Versace perfumes with BPAL

Villain...It's just brilliant - on my fiance it just smells so...manly and light - not too heavy of a scent, but it lingers gorgeously...I thought it wouldn't smell so great since it has lavendar and I have some mindset that flowers don't smell good on men, but it is simply sexy in so many ways! **TMI alert!** I know I couldn't stop kissing him after he wore it...it was like it was our first kiss all over again.

    Dilution and Carrier Oils

I have a question for all you diluters (?!). I recently was going about diluting some of the scents I have that are a bit on the "tangy" side and it helped immensely with the scent (I'm using Jojoba oil), but the carrier and the oils still seem to separate bigtime. I roll the imp around in my hand and it still is separated. Is this just because I used Jojoba oil? Or is it just because I JUST added it? And what about shaking it to mix? I thought shaking EO's is a no-no...(as you can see, I'm a bit confused). Thanks!

    Jezebel

Mmmm...Jezzie, Jezzie, Jezzie. I adore you! In the imp: sweet...almost too sweet, but the name got me and I **had** to try it on! On my skin: Originally it smelled like a flavored honey. You know, those straws of honey you can buy that are flavored? Like a orange blossom/rose flavored honey straw. Then the sandalwood came out and gave the honey a "drier" tone - but very beautiful. Now I just have to wait until the boy comes home to "test drive" it on him...he loves the book skinny legs and all by Tom Robbins and he seemed interested that there was a scent based on Jezebel - I guess there's a reference of her in the book. Going on my big bottle list!

    Red Devil

I tried Red Devil on and sadly I didn't have any results...then again, I wore it when I wasn't exactly "available" to the boy, so that may play some part in it. Anyways, I do love the scent. To me it started out as a spicy orange with something laying just under the spicy orangeness: violets! PURE violets. It ended up turning into violets after it dried on my skin. Which I LOVED! I will definitely have to give Red Devil another chance and see if it can inspire some lusty playfulness.

    Laudanum

mmm...I'm going to review this one on my Boy. I got this one as a freebie and I'm glad the Lab sent it! I smelled it in the imp and it just enveloped me with a sexy goodness! I knew it had to be tried on the Boy and I seductively applied it to him from the imp's ear...behind the ear, down his neck, and into an "I love you" on his chest (yes, I'm a dork, but hey...at least I'm a good smelling dork ). As was already said, it smells like a holiday cookie...spicy, yet sweet, but something sinful underneath (it's like you could gorge yourself on it)! He has since pulled this one out again and again to apply to himself (probably not in the same way I did, but...lol). A nice plus about this scent is that it's a very calming scent...when he was gone for a weekend I used a bit to help me fall asleep and it did the trick. Recently his imp spilled, so it's a little time before he can smell this good again because I'm not giving him his own 5mL until Xmas!

    Samhain

Samhain 2004! Oh, how I love thee...let me count the ways...wait, there's only a few minutes I can use to type this out, so I probably shouldn't use it up. Anyways, it's amazing! Absolutely amazing! It's light, but spicy at the same time. On me it smells like apples dipped in cinnamon and sugar (could be the fact that the other night I WAS doing that! ). I smell the apples and the spices (cloves and whatnot) the most, but every now and then a whiff of pumpkin or wood comes through. It's definitely not a heavy scent, but it is long lasting. I will be wearing this one probably non-stop for quite some time...then again I may end up rationing it out so I can have it until maybe next time it is out?! If it ever comes back out again... ~eclecticaura~

Allergy Questions, Allergies and other reactions to oils

I have a similar problem with Kabuki, only mine is I break out upon application (sad thing is is that I LOVE the smell of it! Maybe I can dilute it to help with it since it's just topical). Maybe there is something in Snake Oil that isn't listed that you're allergic to? Are there any other scents that make you feel this way? What are you allergic to? ~eclecticaura~

    Magdalene

I got this as an extra from the Lab in one of my last two orders. I was very curious about it, because Mary Magdalene intrigues me as a character - plus I LOVE Jesus Christ Superstar (the musical) and Mary Magdalene's song...in fact, that's all I could think of: a woman who doesn't know how to love a man who is pure in heart, because she loves him in a way that she's never ever loved a man before. He is a man that treats her with respect rather than disdain. How can she show her love? Anyways, I'm getting way too bogged down in that comparison. At first I was scared to put it on because it had roses in it, but turns out that I can wear white roses! The scent was a very sweet (almost candy-ish) and pleasant scent that I wore to class and I was amazed that it didn't turn on me at all! (I'm so used to rose smells turning on me that I'm surprised when I find something rosey that works) The scent stayed true all day long! Very long lasting oil! ~eclecticaura~

    Twilight

I am in love with this scent...This past week I was on a Siren kick and all of a sudden I stumbled upon this one in my morning search for something to "wear." I had completely forgotten about it, but when I found it it won me over - I had to put it on right away. I'm not really a girly-girl, but this scent is definitely girly. It makes me feel very feminine and powdery. I like that feeling because it's so different from my personae I give out to people - I work at a karate dojo and so I kind of have a "hard" image so wearing this reminds me of my feminine side. It also is very calming to me what with the jasmine and lavender, which considering the anxiety I can sometimes have it's nice to sniff my wrists to relax me. I start back at college tomorrow after a short break so I will be sure to take my imp with me! ~eclecticaura~ ETA: My boy seems to really like it on me as well...first time I haven't had to put a scent up his nose and ask him for his opinion! So apparently this scent works for me...hmmm...maybe I CAN do florals...?! Also, I had my first "visionary" experience: As I was falling asleep the honeysuckle was wafting up to my nose (which I normally can't smell on it own) and I began to wake-dream of laying in a field full of long grass and honeysuckle in front of a small cobblestone house. Very comforting!

    Snake Oil

I think I may have reviewed this before and said that it gave me a play-doh scent, but I tried it again...and again...and again... Finally I figured out that since these oils are so efficient I should only use a tiny drop. This tiny drop made Snake Oil what it should be! Sexy, sweet, bold, demure...I LOVE IT NOW! When I first put it on the vanilla shows up in the forefront and the spices in the background. Once it dries it turns into an equal mix to me. Spicy and vanilla-y at the same time. Due to my first impression and the first impressions of others maybe this an oil that your body needs to get used to - maybe a tolerance of sorts that will let you finally wear this scent with pleasure? Or maybe it's just a scent that you need to find your perfect dosage of? Gorgeous scent Beth! Thanks so much! ~eclecticaura~ ETA: Also I wore this scent to bed last night and awoke refreshed and relaxed...something that I haven't felt in the past 6 years! I've been stressed and my fibromyalgia has been acting up and so it's been hard to sleep and relax and feel refreshed. But this morning I felt all these things! Not sure if it is the oil, but I'm going to keep trying it to see if it helps. I'm definitely going to be buying a bigger bottle of this one! PLUS: when I put it on with Jojoba oil it really rounds it out on my skin...I LOVE THIS and have just bought a 5mL and am awaiting it!

    Siren

I was a bit afraid to try this scent as when I first smelled it in the imp I was overblown by it's scent. I was afraid that this would just be too much or that I was wrong when I thought jasmine was a good scent on me. Well, my fears were unfounded once I put it on. The mixture of the oils on my skin worked wonders and somehow in my car on my way to work (without an air conditioner that works) I ended up feeling cooled and refreshed - especially on my skin where the scent lay. I will definitely be keeping this imp and I hope to be buying a bottle! ~eclecticaura~

    Dragon's Milk

Wow! I have been wanting to try this one for a while and forgot to order it in my first order (of which I only have had TWO...but still, I've been lurking looking for just the *right ones*). Anyways. I got this one today and had to put it on before even smelling it just in the bottle, because I was so sure I'd love it. Sure enough I love it! I haven't had a scent with dragon's blood in it for a loooooong time. The last time I had it I ended up spilling it on my favorite sweater...so hopefully that luck won't follow me here. I love the way the vanilla just makes the dragon's blood float next to the skin. It makes it so much richer than dragon's blood already is! For me the dragon's blood when dry brings to mind lilacs not fruit like everyone else, then again - maybe it's my skin chemistry. It brings back memories of playing out in my parent's backyard and sucking on the lilac flowers with my friends. Ahhh...to be 8 again! ~eclecticaura~

    Recs for Longest Lasting Oils

For me, I've come to like Masquerade for the longevity...not sure if I'm partial to the patchouli part of it, but...it's growing on me! BTW: It lasts throughout the evening and through the night until the next morning...and that's with just a TINY amount on my wrists. ~eclecticaura~

    O

Mmmm...I didn't like this one on first try, but I'm glad I gave it a second one. It is soooooooooooooooo gorgeous! I just love to smell my wrists when this is on. My boyfriend also likes it on me and he also smells sooooooooo good in it! I never even thought to try it on a guy before reading the reviews, so thank you to whomever recommended it! ~eclecticaura~

    Estimated ship time.

Beth, I only have a few of BPAL oils, but the ones I have...I adore! Your customer service is second to none and for this...a little wait is fine! Honestly, that time you give (14-21 days) is FINE for such a high end product! Thank you for the time you put into these forums and the oils! **hugs and kisses** ~eclecticaura~

Oils to relax, calm, soothe, restore your sanity...

You know what might put Lucy's Kiss over the edge in helping with the self love...find a small piece of rose quartz and add it to your Lucy's Kiss (not sure how small you'd have to get the piece, but rose quartz is a stone that is OFTEN associated with self love)...I gave myself a rose quartz crystal ring to remind myself of the love I deserve and it's helped me ever since. Or you could always wear a piece of rose quartz jewelry that you oil the stone with Lucy's Kiss? Good luck! **hugs and kisses** ~eclecticaura~

    Xiuhtecuhtli

I just have to say...WOW! This was one of the extras in my package of imps and well...I got into this one first - even before I got into the scents I picked. It is just such a *beautifull* scent. Once I smelled it I couldn't get the scent out of my nose...and it just HAD to be the first scent I tried. I am so amazed at how the scent just floats around me rather than feeling as if it is ON ME. I am addicted already! ~eclecticaura~
