    Les Anges Déchus

This smelled vaguely perfumey in the imp, then it completely disappeared on my skin. I reapplied just to make sure, but again, barely any scent. Oh well, can't win them all. Edited because somehow my review appeared in duplicate.

    Lot and His Daughters

This is a sweet blend, but I'm having trouble recognizing the notes. It doesn't smell particularly spicy or citrusy to me. But something in here does not agree with my skin chemistry, and it smells odd enough that I want to wash it off. My imp has just been added to the swap pile.

    Baron Samedi

How bizarre that this is supposed to smell like Bay Rum. To me, it's spiced Coca-Cola. That sounds kind of gross, but it's actually quite lovely, and I think it would be great on a man also. I will need a bottle of this.

    Melancholia

This is a floral lover's dream! I'm not a floral lover, but I do still like this scent. It's fresh and sweet and surprisingly cheerful for something called Melancholia. No soap, powder, or old lady to be found in this one. I'm not great at picking out individual floral notes, as I usually don't wear a lot of them. Still, this is a lovely addition to the Salon, and I'm glad to have had the chance to try it!

    Garden Path With Chickens

This is a gorgeous, grassy green floral. It makes me happy and is perfect for springtime. I'll keep my imp for sure, and a bottle may eventually be necessary. So beautiful!

    Faith

Faith is much sweeter and stronger than Hope, at least on me. The violet doesn't turn soapy or powdery, but it's very sweet, bordering on cloying. It reminds me a bit of Le Serpent Qui Danse, but I actually like it a bit less. Just not my thing, I guess.

    Hope

Alas, this is one of the BPAL roses that I cannot wear. Sugared rose on me, apparently, equals sugared soap.

    Bilquis

At first, this is a delicious, buttery apple and almond. Then, within just a few minutes, it morphs into a barely-there, powdery floral. How odd. I'll definitely try it several more times to see if it does anything differently, because I do love it at first.

    Mr. Nancy

Mr. Nancy is very complex, with a nice blend of foody, citrussy, and smoky/deep notes. I've never smelled anything like it, and it's quickly become a favorite. Also, for those of you who are scared by the comparisons some reviewers have made to Sugar Skull, I couldn't wear Sugar Skull and found it much too sweet and almost nauseating, but this works wonderfully for me. The smoke and lime keep it from being OMGFOODY, although it is still definitely sweet. Really, I've loved all the Carousel scents I've tried so far, but this is the most stunning of them all.

    Mr. Ibis

What an unusual scent! It's soft, fresh, and clean, slightly green and slightly sweet. I really feel like words can't do it proper justice. This will become a summer staple for many, I'm sure. Another wonderful addition to the Carousel!

    Mr. Jacquel

This scent is truly amazing. It's spicy, sweet, and dusty, just earthy enough from the patchouli, but not overpowering at all. Just gorgeous, and I'm so glad to have a bottle.

    Tiresias, the Androgyne

Tiresias starts out with a big caramel blast, but on my skin, it's caramel with deep, dark patchouli and spices. Sexy and . Love it!

    Mama-Ji

To me, this doesn't resemble Voodoo Queen--it's much more floral. The spices blend seamlessly with the flowers and keep them from going soapy. The scent is deep and smooth and decidedly feminine. It's just gorgeous, and I think it's destined to become a classic.

    White and "Light" Musk Recommendations

Rivki, I think you might like Zephyr also. It's a light musk scent with a touch of vanilla and citrus. The musk isn't heavy at all, and it doesn't smell foody or floral either. And it's in the GC, always a bonus.

    The Oblation

I smell honey and lavender, an interesting combination of sweetness and sharpness. It's nice, but I wish I could smell more of the blackberry and less of the lavender. Guess I'm just not a huge lavender fan.

    Vasakasajja

This is a very subtle, smooth, feminine blend. I'd classify it as a tropical fruity floral, even though that's not what I was expecting from the description. It doesn't have a lot of throw, but it's very pretty.

    Hunger Moon

Hunger Moon starts out as a very fresh, snowy blend with citrus. As it's drying, it gets very piney, even though pine isn't listed as a note. The scent as a whole is an interesting balance between coldness and sweetness. I love BPAL snow blends, and this is no exception.

    Crow Moon

Crow Moon, to me, is woodsy and fresh-smelling. It smells more like a winter blend than a spring one, and I definitely smell more snow than florals. The scent is subtle but long-lasting, and it's a definite keeper.

    Virahotkantita

On me, this is a soft, soothing floral with a hint of woods and herbs. I like it but not enough to buy a bottle.

    Vipralabda

I was intrigued by the notes in this, but sadly, all I could smell on my skin was a soapy floral. Sigh. Off to swaps.

    Wulric, the Wolfman (2006)

Wulric is a masculine and deep herbal scent with cocoa. As it dries, more of the cocoa comes out, but it's still slightly green smelling. I do like it, but I much prefer Boomslang and 13 for my cocoa scents, so I will be swapping my decant.

    Isaac, the Living Skeleton (2006)

There was something unsettling about Isaac in the imp, and I almost didn't try him on. But on the skin, Isaac blooms into something sweet yet still masculine, with something smooth and almost nutty. Very unique and intriguing. I think I'll keep my decant and try this one a few more times.

    Arachnina, The Spider Girl (2006)

On me, Arachnina is faint, wispy, ethereal--perfect for a spidery scent. I'm not getting any of the notes from the description, and after a few minutes, I barely smell anything at all. Unfortunately, this one just doesn't work for me, although I do admire the concept.

    The Ecstasy of Infatuation

The Ecstasy of Infatuation: Black cherry, pink grapefruit, white musk, lemon verbena, champagne grape, pikaki, plumeria, and Hawaiian ginger. Mmm...this is juicy, sweet and tart, and very fruity. It smells wonderful, but its lasting power is not the best. Still, it's a keeper, and I'll be trying it in my scent locket to see if I can get it to last.

    The Ecstasy of True Love

Wow, it's amazing what different skin chemistries can do with a scent. I'm certainly familiar with the acrid, dirty, getitoffmenowomgpatchouli that others have mentioned, and there are some BPAL blends that I cannot wear because of it. But in True Love, the patchouli I'm getting is very smooth and well-behaved, just enough earthiness to keep the honeysuckle from becoming too sweet. It's really nice and very sophisticated and classy-smelling. While I do like it, I prefer Trick #1 for my patchouli-floral needs, so I'm not sure how much I'll use it. I may keep it around for a while to see if I use it, or it may end up being imped out or swapped. Regardless, though, this one is worth trying, and I wouldn't want anyone to be scared off by the dirty-patchouli descriptions, because it definitely doesn't do that on everyone.
