    Typical time...

You won't be getting any confirmation from the lab, just the one fromm Paypal. You can keep an eye on the CnS posts here and the I Got My Order thread here. It looks like the early May internationals are moving now.

The Mad Tea Party labels look like the regular General Catalog Labels with the white background shown here top row right

    Beachy, Tropical Scents

Huh. I never thought that supplementing BPAL recommendations with something else that someone might enjoy would be inappropriate. Thanks for cluing me in. Sometimes I have trouble compartmentalizing my thoughts as much as it is necessary on this board. I'll try to be more careful. I hope that you didn't think that I was scolding you, TroubleDoll, because I was confused about the whole thing. That is when I hunted down ivyandpeony's post and made sure. I hope that the thread that I opened over in the Retail Therapy thread was the right was to do it. I wanted to offer some other suggestions as well.

    Beachy, Tropical Scents

I think that we are to keep this thread to BPAL recommendations only as ivyandpeony says here, so I started a thread for other etailer/retailer perfumes here. That said, I need to try the Motu from CSP that TroubleDoll mentioned. I agree, Jolly Roger is a good recommendation as well;)

What do bottles and labels look like?

The owner of the snake sounds as if they are willing to work something out and I hope that is the case. I think that they may have been surprised more than anything. Holding good thoughts for all involved

    Beachy, Tropical Scents

For BPAL, my favorite is Thalassa, then Tempest and Caliban. Caliban has the fern notes, but on me, it is as aquatic as Thalassa, just a different beach
  8. I decided to try my decant when I saw Jessiesquash's post and on my skin, it is definitely the case. The cinnamon is strong initially, but backs down and the burning ember smell comes forward. I'm a huge fan of bonfire scents and I love this.

    Missing Pavo

February 11, 2007 - Totally devastated Back on the 24th of January, about 2 hours before I had to leave on a long business trip, our huge Moluccan Cockatoo, Pavo, fell in her cage and broke her wing. It was touch and go fo awhile, but Thursday, the vet thought that she was on the slow road to recovery. Unfortunately, a fungal infection must have originated in the wing and she began to have respiratory distress yesterday evening. We rushed her to the emergency vet at 4am and then had to make the horrible decision. We couldn't leave for 2 hours because we couldn't stop crying long enough to handle anything. We finally, now, just dragged ourselves out of bed, only to find an empty cage and her medications and food. She was with us for 18 years. RIP, dear sweet Pavo, RIP

How to make a paypal order.

The lab is shipping about 3 - 4 weeks. You will not be receiving an order confirmation from the lab, but you should have received your paypal confirmation. What you most likely will receive from the lab is a shipping notification. You can check this thread here to see what order dates are going out.

    Wulric, the Wolfman (2006)

I'm in love with a wolfman. I seem to be obsessed with chocolate lately so I decided to give Wulric a try. There is the dark powdery cocoa and the lavender. The lavender is smooth and muted, made a bit earth from the cocoa and sweetened just slightly from the vanilla. This is so beautifully blended that no note is jarring or out of place. This will be my new sleep scent because the cocoa, vanilla and lavender are so soothing in this blend. Beautiful!

    Milk Moon 2007

The fruits in this smell very tropical to me. It reminds me a bit of a Filipino dessert, Halo-Halo which has fruits and crushed ice and canned evaporated milk. That is the type of milky/creamy note that I smell in this as opposed to a coconut milk. I really like the mix of the tropical fruits and the creamy milk and I think that this will be lovely in the summer.

    Monster Bait: Tokyo Stomp

Yup - Thin Mints! It's mint, dark chocolate, vanilla and that sort of dry wood/cookie note. After about 45 minutes, the mint mellows and allows the chocolate and vanilla to come forward. The mint was a bit strong for me in the beginning, but seems more balanced after a bit. The whole thing gets creamier as time goes on.

    Beachy, Tropical Scents

The newest Milk Moon smells very tropical to me. That may sound sort of odd with the milk note, but it reminds me of Asian tropical drinks/desserts where canned milk is used - think Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia. There is always Manila. Some get more greenery, tropical florals and wood, but some also get the banana note.
  15. I think that Bliss is your best bet. It doesn't really have the cream note, but it is a soft milk chocolate, but then there is Candy Butcher and that has more of a cream note, although there seems to be more going on with it. Depending on your chemistry, you might not pick up those other things. Bliss is more straightforward. By the way, happy birthday

    Milk and Cream Notes

Bloody Mary is wonderful, creamy goodness

    Monster Bait: Bloody Mary

Okay, let's make this easy. Cherry cheesecake, with an Italian cherry soda and strawberry incense wafting around in the distance, all with a sprinkling of powdered sugar. My poor Paypal is being attacked by the monsters!

    Oranges, Satsumas, Tangerines & Mandarins

You might want to go to the lab site search engine here and plug in either tangerine or mandarin since they are related to satsuma. Meanwhile, I will grab my Body Shop bottle of Satsuma oil and compare it to some BPAL Ooooh, how fun - a new quest *claps hands in glee*

    Love-Lies-Bleeding

Oh, this is lovely, a soft rose-type floral, strawberry, chocolate and a wood note, like rosewood, perhaps. At first sniff, it was more foody and reminded me of one of the original Monster Baits. After about half an hour, the chocolate backs down and the other notes get stronger. It still retains that soft quality, but on me, the throw is fairly strong. I bought a decant on the forum, but I definitely will need a bottle because this is so beautiful.
  20. It is primarily Frankincense and Myrrh and I have seen other ingredients added as well - sometimes benzoin and styrax and also copal.
  21. Yup, what parrot_suspect and northatlantic said. I think that Midnight Mass comes closest, but nothing is exactly like the incense in the Catholic church. I love that smell and have hoarded bottles of the 2005 Midnight Mass because of that. The 2006 version is close, but has a bit more wood notes. I noticed both 2005 and 2006 in the sales/swaps section last night

BPAL Patchouli - there's nothing else like it

I'm a huge patch lover too and I love Anne Bonney. My favorite LE's which contain patchouli, but where it doesn't surface for about 45 minutes are Trick 2, The Organ Grinder and to a lesser extent, Kanishta. These, on me, end up with a very dry, nutty patchouli note.

    Brown Jenkin

This is incredibly beautiful. There is something here that reminds me of Midnight Mass, my absolute favorite blend, but this is brighter and not quite so somber. This is like midnight mass in the Philippines with the smell of coconut giving it a little exotic lift. There is a sort of dry powdery note from the orris and probably from the coconut husk. I normally wear dark resin/wood/incense scents so this will be perfect to wear in the warmer months when I want something a bit more lighthearted. I'll need to get another bottle of this to tuck away because I'm sure that it will age beautifully. After all, you don't think that I'm going to stash the one bottle that I have, do you
  25. You might want to check out Black Forest - *This is the captured scent of a cold, moonless night, lost deep within the darkest wood. Haunting and desolate, this scent evokes images of fairy tale tragedy and half-remembered nightmares. Thick, viscous pine with ambergris, black musk, juniper and cypress.*
