  1. In the vial: Something sharp. Spices. Some kind of fruit - maybe fig?

On me: Such an interesting scent! When I put my finger to my noise, I can actually imagine the curls of smoke that I'm smelling. It's a nice-smelling smoke, though. I like it a lot. I'm also picking up that subtle fruitiness, heady floral, and a nice kick of spice.

Verdict: I like it! Not sure if I'm ready for a bottle, but this is a very unique scent.

    Rating: 4/5

  2. In the vial: Lavender, jasmine, spice

On me: This is an interesting scent - It's a really spicy lavender scent - something in it made me sneeze, though, probably the delphinium, since the rose note never makes me sneeze.

The dark/sneezy something seems to have calmed down a bit. This has lightened to an enjoyable scent, though a bit peppery.

Verdict: I'm going to keep this one. It does make me a bit sneezy, so no need for a big bottle. The scent is nice, though.

    Rating: 3/5

  3. In the vial: Musk, jasmine, spice

On me: This scent is really lovely. The musk truly does smell "crystalline" as the lab's description states, and the jasmine and other florals are strong without being too overpowering. I like this scent a lot. It gets spicier as it dries.

Verdict: Keeper. No need for a bottle, but I like this one.

    Rating: 4/5

  4. In the vial: Cocoa. Incense. Leather.

On me: The leather really stands out, with the cocoa, incense, and florals shadowing it. this is such an interesting scent! It really brings forth images of the ancient Central American empires. Oh - am I detecting a bit of cinnamon? Such a cool blend!

    Verdict: Definitely a keeper!

    Rating: 4/5

  5. In the vial: Soft orange and florals.

On me: Man, I wish I liked this. The orange is just a bit too sour, and I'm not sure if I like the incense note in this blend. I don't smell the copal, but I'm not exactly sure what this resin smells like, exactly.

Verdict: Sadly going to the sell/swap pile. Oh well.

    Rating: 1/5

  6. In the vial: Green, floral.

On me: Well, this is interesting. It's a green/floral but is so different from Asphodel. It is still kind of a gloomy/rainy scent, but is brighter and more complex on my skin. There's a hint of something woodsy/spicy. Fantastic scent!

    Verdict: Definitely a keeper. I don't think I need a bottle, though.

    Rating: 4/5

  7. In the vial: Incense & poppies.

On me: This smells exactly like that one time I ever smelled opium burning. It's sweet, sweet incense with poppy woven through it. This scent is heavenly.

Verdict: This scent is fantastic. It's incensey without being overpowering at all. I need a bottle!

    Rating: 5/5

  8. In the vial: Something light. Almost sweet, but not, in a way.

On me: It actually smells rather pretty - a white or grey floral - maybe wisteria, gardenia, or violet. I can't tell! It smells freshly picked... with dew on the leaves. Whatever the flower is, it's very pretty.

Verdict: Not something I'll wear often, but I'll keep the imp.

    Rating: 3/5

  9. In the vial: Very salty and aquatic with a bit of sweetness.

On me: This is a really great scent. It is everything that I love about aquatics combined with everything that I love about dragon's blood.

    Verdict: Keeper!

    Rating: 4/5

  10. In the vial: Dragon's Blood and sandalwood

On me: Yep, still dragon's blood and sandalwood, and perhaps a bit of musk. I definitely can smell the orris and blondewood now, on my skin. This is really beautiful on my skin.

Verdict: I think this is a fantastic, well-blended scent. Definitely a keeper!

    Rating: 5/5

  11. In the vial: Mmmm, spices.

On me: Oh, this is gorgeous. Spices, lovely spices. Unfortunately, it faded incredibly quickly and I could only smell it if I put my nose right up to my skin.

Verdict: I'm so sad about this one, as I loved it in the vial and as soon as I put it on. I was very disappointed. I ended up swapping it away, but I still think about it and if I can find a good unscented lotion that I like enough, I may order more to turn into a scented lotion for myself on days that I don't want to radiate scent. I kinda regret giving it away now, but I'm sure I'll get more again one day.

Rating: 4/5 for scent, 1/5 for lasting. :P

  12. In the vial: Sweet, aquatic

On me: This is a light, sweet aquatic blend. It smells nice on me.

Verdict: There are other aquatics that I like better, like Danube. This is a very pretty scent though, but it's too similar to other aquatics that I like better.

    Rating: 3/5

  13. In the vial: Soft clove, violets, tonka.

On me: This blend smells amazing on me! The clove comes out first, mixes with the violets and is warmed by the tonka. This reminds me of sweet, clovey, vanilla-y, tea. I adore this!

    Verdict: I need a 5ml. No, 10ml. I love this!

    Rating: 5/5

  14. In the vial: Pear.

On me: Pear with a hint of something spicy - maybe a bit of cocoa or chocolate. This scent is really, spectacularly beautiful!

Verdict: Total keeper. I want a bottle.

    Rating: 5/5

  15. In the vial: Icky menthol.

On me: When I put it on, it was kind of sour for a few minutes before it sweetened up (from the maple leaf, I suppose), and then it faded into a very, very light mountainy scent... before getting sour again.

Verdict: Not for me. Swapped it with a friend.

    Rating: 1/5

  16. In the vial: Dates, figs, spices

On me: This one is pretty true to the vial. The dates amp up a bit, as do the spices. However, it smells a lot like some other scents I've tried and just isn't something I think I'd wear too often.

Verdict: Off to the swap/sale pile.

    Rating: 3/5

  17. In the vial: Dirty, stale rum.

On me: Rum! And then the cloves come out full force! Wow, I feel like I've just smoked a clove cigarette with the lovely way it smells. The alcoholic smell is gone... this is almost like a Clove single note on me, though I can definitely a hint of the rum and bay leaves in the background

Verdict: A keeper simply because of the strong clove smell. Totally bottleworthy!

    Rating: 5/5

  18. In the vial: Fresh lavender!

On me: This is the purest lavender BPAL scent that I've tried so far. It smells absolutely divine. I can barely smell anything else in this blend other than lavender - maybe a bit of spice, but just barely.

Verdict: I adore lavender - I adore this. Keeper!

    Rating: 4/5

  19. In the vial: Flowers and aquatics

On me: Wow! This is a very blue and pink scent to me - it is everything that I think summer on the water should smell like. There is a distinct floral scent that is just heavenly, and the aquatic note is lovely.

Verdict: A new favorite! I want a bottle!

    Rating: 5/5

  20. In the vial: Herbs, woods, light spice

On me: Very earthy and herby. It's very light at first, and then all of a sudden, I can smell the incense. Mmm. I'm also picking up florals - a light scent of rose, perhaps, and maybe something else. It reminds me of sitting on a rock in a forest clearing, with big trees all around me, flowers growing here and there, and a softly-smelling insence burning. It's a happy, green smelling scent ot me.

Verdict: I love this scent and will definitely wear it again. Big bottle? I don't know - will have to give it a few more tries. So far, I really like it.

    Rating: 5/5

  21. In the vial: Fig, date, almond... something else.

On me: There it is! That something else is coconut. I don't smell any of the sandalwood that's listed in the lab's description, but I do smell the honey. This smells absolutely delicious!

Verdict: Lovely scent! The combination of honey, coconut, fig, and milky almond almost smells like spiced tea. I like tea. And I love this scent!

    Rating: 5/5

  22. The essence of holy Kyphi, beloved incense of the Egyptian Gods.

    In the vial: Sweet/orangey/incensey

On me: It's definitely incensey, and I do smell the orange that I smelled in the vial, but I don't know if that citrus note really fits. The scent stays strong for a number of hours after it's applied.

Verdict: I do like it, and it does remind me of Egypt, but there's just something about it that I'm not sure I like.

    Rating: 3/5

  23. In the vial: Something tangy and slightly floral. A sharpness. Almost like a men's cologne.

On me: That same tangy/floralness. Perhaps some kind of citrus, like lemon? Yeah, this is starting to go very slightly Pledge-y on me. Oh well.

Verdict: Definitely not for me. :P

    Rating: 2/5

  24. In the vial: Leather, vetiver.

On me: Mmm. It smells exactly the same as in the vial, but with the addition of musk. This is a very masculine, delicious scent.

Verdict: It's definitely a keeper, but I'm going to have to try to see if I can get my husband to wear it, as I don't forsee myself putting it on too often.
