  1. In the vial: Soft florals

On me: This is not at all what I expected! This blend is of soft florals with a hint of some kind of spice behind them. Innnnteresting.

Verdict: This smells nice on me, but it's not really what I was looking for so I think I'll swap/sell it.

A bit later: Yep, now it's going soapy. Good thing I'd already decided to get rid of it!

    Rating: 3/5

  2. In the vial: Sweet, sugary, minty.

On me: This is a clean scent with an alcoholic tang on me. It smells like what a sugary, minty alcoholic drink would smell like. This is a really nice scent.

Verdict: Too bad it's a limited edition. I only tried some residual oil from a sniffie, and while I really love the scent, I probably won't go looking for a bottle or anything as there isn't much of it around and I don't want to get addicted! I'll pass the sniffie off to someone else.

  3. In the vial: Sweet wine and myrrh.

On me: I'm so disappointed. This was much better on me the first time, I thought, but now that I'm trying it again, the red wine smells kind of sour. It covers up mostly everything in this blend - the other scent I detect is myrrh. If only the wine note was lighter!

    Verdict: Definitely not for me.

  4. In the vial: Lavender and mint.

On me: Still lavender and mint.

Verdict: I don't really like the way it smells on me. The pennyroyal is making the lavender much too tangy. I prefer a bit of a softer lavender. This definitely won't do for me.

  5. In the vial: Sweetness and wet earth.

On me: What a complex scent! This is sweet, earthy, musky, tangy... At first I wasn't sure if I liked it, but now I think I actually might. It smells rather nice on me.

    Verdict: Keeper for now!

    Rating: 3/5

  6. In the vial: Hot winds across burnt grass.

On me: This smells like burnt hay. It's the weirdest thing. As it dries down, it gets a little softer and almost nice in a way. But still, I don't think it's the right scent for me.

    Verdict: Off to swap/sale.

    Rating: 2/5

  7. In the vial: Violets & vetiver.

On me: I can't decide if this scent is pleasant or not. I can smell both notes easily.

Verdict: Well, my husband thinks it smells like an old lady, so that settles it. Not for me.

    Rating: 2/5

  8. In the vial: I'm kind of at a loss. I can't identify anything that's in this blend - it smells nice, though.

On me: There is definitely something spicy in here - cinnamon? I'm also smelling herbs, woodiness, and perhaps a hint of jasmine now.

Someone here on the forums said it smelled almost like an incensey Coca-cola, and I agree. It is really yummy! Unfortunately, the throw isn't that great, and it seems to be fading much quicker than I imagined it would.

Verdict: I like this scent a lot. I probably won't wear it often, though. It is a Voodoo Blend, so I think it may just get use when I'm in need of its intended services.

    Rating: 3/5

  9. In the vial: Floral, chocolate.

On me: Upon immediate application, this is all red wine and chocolate. Now, I smell chocolate, orange, honey, and various florals. It's morphed again and the chocolate has faded after a few minutes and is now much more floral. Now, the honey is more prevalent, and the chocolate is back! Wow, what a fun blend - I love shapeshifters!

Verdict: Definitely a keeper. I like this scent a lot, but will have to try it a few more times to decide whether I need a bottle.

    Rating: 5/5

  10. In the vial: Clove, spice, ylang-ylang, green/floral

On me: Mmm. Clove and ylang-ylang come out first. Despite the heavy spices, this is surprisingly light and lovely. I can smell the honey and fig - they make the darker/warmer spices sweeter. After a few minutes, I can also smell the patchouli, which I didn't notice at all. It is not a prominent scent, though.

Verdict: This scent is very interesting. The scent definitely fits the Lab's description of the "beautiful...impeccably cultured...courtesans of ancient Greece." I really like it, but I'm not sure if it merits a big bottle yet. I'll have to wear it a few more times.

  11. In the vial: Something sweet with a hint of lemon.

On me: I have to sniff really hard to smell this on me. It is actually a rather nice scent, but it's so incredibly light and is probably not something I'd wear often.

Verdict: Off to the swap/sales pile.

    Rating: 3/5

  12. In the vial: Coconut and something sourish.

On me: I think the scent that I didn't like in the vial was blood musk. This isn't a bad scent, I just don't think that the coconut goes well with that sort of tang in the musk.

    Verdict: Not for me.

    Rating: 2/5

  13. In the vial: Plum, patchouli.

On me: Yep, very dark plum and patchouli. Both seem to fade slightly after application. I now can smell something sweet - possibly the champaca flower - and burnt sandalwood.

Verdict: This is a very sensual and exotic scent on me. I'm glad the plum faded away because I don't really like plum. I like this scent, though, and will hold on to my prized little limited edition imp!

    Rating: 5/5

  14. In the vial: Very buttery sweet.

On me: Still very sweet and buttery, but surprisingly, it fades quickly. Ack! I am so disappointed!

Verdict: I am so sad! I have to put it up for swap. I just don't smell anything on me after only a few minutes! :P

    Rating: 1/5

  15. In the bottle: Very light. Sage.

On me: This is ALL sage at first. After it starts to dry, I can smell the iris, and what must be the orris. The civet is truly a drop - it barely stands out.

Verdict: This is a wonderful, light scent. It doesn't have much throw and doesn't have great lasting power, but I like it enough that I don't mind reapplying it. Glad I have a bottle!

    Rating: 5/5

  16. In the vial: Cinnamon. Clove, maybe? Something else, too... saffron?

On me: I smell all three of those notes, but I'm not sure if I like the way the last one turns on my skin. In fact, I think it's going on a little rancid. Ick.

Verdict: Off to the swap/sell pile.

    Rating: 1/5

  17. In the vial: A very warm, yellow scent - amber and something floral... maybe heliotrope? I'm not sure, really.

On me: I smell cinnamon now. Oddly, I'm just not digging this. Maybe it's the way the cinnamon mixes with the floral. It just smells weird to me.

Verdict: Off to the sell/swap pile.

    Rating: 1/5

  18. In the vial: Pure chocolate. It smells richer than Bliss, but it's lovely milk chocolate.

On me: Wow - it's not milky anymore. It's turned to a darker chocolate, and I smell orange, too. It reminds me of one of those chocolate-covered oranges, and I really like this!

Verdict: Definitely an evening scent, and this will work for me much better in the fall/winter. It is certainly a keeper, though, and I must find more!

    Rating: 5/5

  19. In the vial: Very, very sheer coconut.

On me: This scent is incredibly gorgeous. I am still detecting fresh, sheer coconut, a teeny bit of florals, and a hint of something else - the scent of fresh snow, I believe.

Verdict: This scent is beautiful. If I can find a bottle, I'd like one!

    Rating: 5/5

  20. In the vial: Very sugary, light plum.

On me: True to the vial. I think this might actually be a plum scent that I can wear! It is lovely and truly makes me think of the Nutcracker and Christmastime.

Verdict: Lovely! I don't need a bottle; the imp will do. But I like it and am glad that I know that I can wear plum!

    Rating: 4/5

  21. Sweet brandy, dark rum, heavy cream, sugar, and a dash of nutmeg.

In the vial: Buttery, delicious rum.

On me: Buttery rum and lots of spices. This dries down to a gorgeous spiced eggnog blend. I love it!

Verdict: A new favorite. Bottle, please?

    Rating: 5/5

  22. In the vial: The ultimate Halloween scent! Candy, smoke, and autumn leaves.

On me: This is spectacular on me. The smokey scent is not overpowering in the least, and the scent is perfectly sweet - also not overpowering. The other note in this blend really does smell like autumn leaves. This is an incredible seasonal scent.

Verdict: So happy I found a bottle!

    Rating: 5/5

  23. In the vial: Frankincense & myrrh. Incense.

On me: F&M, plus rose and other florals. I smell a hint of cassia and other spices.

Verdict: I don't think I like this very much. It makes the back of my throat itch. Too much F&M. This is definitely going to the sell/swap pile.

    Rating: 2/5

  24. In the vial: Mmm. Chocolate and pumpkins and spices!

On me: This starts out really nice, but then the pumpkin and chocolate start to dry down and fade and the hazelnut comes out. The other scents don't blend enough with it, and as much as I love hazelnut, it just smells really "off" in this blend.

Verdict: Not for me. Off to the swaps/sales.

    Rating: 2/5

  25. In the bottle: Honey and incense.

On me: Oooh, this is one of my most favorite blends ever! The most prominent notes on me are honey, incense, date palm, amber, rose, and sandalwood. There's something else in this blend that I don't know - probably the davana or champaca - that makes it very lovely, though not floral at all, to me.

Verdict: Incredible blend! Glad I have two bottles. :P

    Rating: 5/5
