  1. Okay! So... I ordered one lonely bottle of CTIII, DCLXV. I have no idea what number that is and I'll look it up later... I shall not hinder my creative reviewing output!

In the bottle: Some kind of wood resin and herbs. I'm actually pretty bad at recognising herbs. Nothing in here is overly pine-y, it's quite soft and full, and well blended. I do have thoughts that I might be smelling rosemary or sage. There's also a fresh and subtle high note. Maybe that's the rosemary?

Thoughts: :D "Oh noooooo! SO not me, maybe it'll change when I put it on. I like sweet things and this is not. Nope."

Wet: The herbs are slightly sweet. The rest of the scent is the same as in the bottle, resin'y and herby. Not heavy resins though, they're light. Maybe a little mint peaking through? A tonka/vanilla? A VERY small amount, if it's there at all. There's something warm at the base.

Imaginings: Like a forest in spring. Sun-warmed herb garden.

Thoughts: :P "Boo. Nice but not me."

Drydown: The resins and woods are becoming stronger. Still fresh and a little warm. A tiny bit of orange maybe? It's hard to pick anything particular out.

Synopsis: "Very nice. Not me at all, I wish I could like it but it's something I would never wear."

Ah ha! Thank you internet, it's 665 :D

  2. Mmmm... this is divine!

In the bottle it is very fruity... with a nice spicy, liquor base.

It's been on me for a while now, and it's just such a smooth soft scent, like drinking sherry. I actually smell chocolate, weird since it's not in the description. I can see that it is a very 'burgandy' 'velvet' perfume, just like its name.

The fruit is kept in check with the velvety texture of the wine and amaretto.

    Just... luscious.

    :P

  3. From a swap with brownbear (thanks!):

Bottle: Yow. This smelled EXACTLY like Penny Dreadful to me. Same colour and everything.

Wet: Oh... no, this isn't Penny. It's VERY sharp initially.

Drydown: It gets quite husky and mellow, the sharpness is in the background now. It's still quite sweet as well, which must be the vanilla. A stronger and sharper Penny Dreadful, really. Not what I was expecting. Quite herby as well.

Forgive me, this is my first review and I'm not so good at picking out notes yet! :P
