    The Hanging Gardens

Fruity-floral, with a little bit of fir giving it depth, but I cannot pick out any other notes right now. I do not think this one is one I want to hang around, though. I have tried it twice and have no memory of it afterwards. It deserves going somewhere where it can get more love.

    Black Pearl

This is actually rather lovely and fairly yummy, coconutty and hazelnutty. I do not know if this is me, since it is making me rather hungry too... but it is nice.

    Bliss

Funny - it smells like roasted almonds on me. I am pretty sure that is what I am smelling, unlike Velvet, which WAS indeed chocolate. I will hold on to this for now - I have already applied it twice as a comfort scent. I did not think of myself as a foody-scent gal, but this is nice. Oh, it is growing chocolatey on drydown, cool.

    Arkham

Arkham is very lovely on the drydown; however, whatever Beth puts into the Picnic scents to make them a little... ghastly-eerie flares up on first application and makes me almost not like it. But methinks I can grow to like it. I am holding on to my imp.

    Shoggoth

It does smell citrusy, with a hint of floral and something very faint behind it that reminds me of some medicine. This may actually be the coconut meat. I am waiting for the amber to show up once it dries. It is a very interesting scent. I will see whether I need a bottle, but I am holding on to my imp. Very versatile - of course, being protoplasmic and all...

    Night-Gaunt

This is immediately reminding me of Aizen'Miyoo, but I like it better. It is more subtle than Aizen-Miyoo, at least on me - A-M had throw all over the place, and so I had to put it in a body cream to again be allowed in polite society. The Night-Gaunt I keep on getting drawn to. This one may be a keeper, from the look (smell?) of it.

    Miskatonic University

Sweet coffee!!! With a whiff of parchment... How could I have ever doubted the people who swore by this (although $120 on eBay is a little too much)? Need bottle, stat!

    The Carpathian Mountains

I want pines and snow, pines and snow, like Jersey Devil only with snow! I am getting - no, not wintergreen like most people - tomato leaf. Lots and lots of tomato leaf, which makes me think of summer, but not winter in the Carpathians. I am wearing them in a locket, too! Pine, come!

    F5

Very delightfully fresh. Something like Sea of Glass or Shattered - but more fun. I love this one!

    Blood Rose

I can smell the rose and the blood. Not the wine, and thank the Excolo for that, for wine generally is an annoying scent to me. But it does have a very heady flavour to the scent. I think I like Black Rose better, but this is nice.

    Mantis

Oh, why doesn't anyone rave about this one? The neroli is such a wonderful amp, but there is something there giving an interesting quality to the neroli. On me, Mantis is incredibly fresh. I may grow to like this one. A first surprise liked frimp.

    Black Lotus

This is very heady. Tropical, and heady is a good way to describe it. The myrrh and patchouli join up with the lotus. I fear I will not wear this very much. Although it does not trigger the Say No To Drugs reflex, it makes my thoughts swim a little.

    Blood Lotus

I think that lotus gives me a headache. I am not sure. This is a nice scent, but I am not sure I will wear it much.

    Dorian

Um...tea with a hint of lemon cookie? Why do almost all of the debauchery scents not work debauchery on me (except for Satyr, which worked TOO well)? When I sniffed Dorian at a meet n' sniff, the smell in the imp fitted perfectly a review of Abberlaine Arrol's: "being held down and ravished by a lemon cookie." But for me on my skin it is just - tea with a hint of lemon cookie. Being ravished over tea might be fun, but Dorian is not doing it for me. I will try him in a scent locket.

    The Jersey Devil

Whoa, I need not regret that I swapped away Golden Priapus, because Jersey Devil fills the pine ticket! Golden Priapus was pure pine to me... But this is not sweet pine, like Priapus. It is windblown pine and I can see pine-covered granite ridges. I have never yet been to the Pine Barrens of New Jersey, but the boreal forest of the Canadian Shield is a perfect setting for this Jersey Devil as well. Rarely has a scent been so evocative among Beth's huge catalogue of evocative scents. A success!

    Black Rose

It is rose and patchouli, yes, but on me it has a fresh undertone that keeps on reminding me of cucumber, though I know it is not cucumber, I do not think. I like it very much. This is my first raid on the Rappaccini's Garden, and I am looking forward to the journey!

    Tanin'iver

This is a very unusual Ars Draconis scent, unlike the other ones I have tried. The myrrh, I suppose, makes it darker and...well, myrrh-like, and the cassia helps it too. I can't really describe it. I think I will like it, though. It is the Dark Dragon kind of blend.

    Swank

This is so far my favourite of the boozy scents I have tried, counting Bon Vivant and Grand Guignol and Swank all in one scent category. It smells very lovely, like pomegranate and booze. However, it throws like nobody's business. That is its one problem. I get a little embarrassed smelling up the lab with pomegranate martinis. But I rather like it.

    Sudha Segara

I knew I loved this on first sniff at the Meet n' Sniff, and I am very grateful to simplyfussfree for her parting with her imp. I was a little nervous of milk and honey, but the ginger and the milk balance perfectly. Don't know what the ambrosia is - but this a new favourite!

    The Lion

You know, this is spicy amber, and I ordered an imp because I like spices and I like amber. And I like the Lion, yes. But I am not going wild over it, like a lot of people are. I do not know why.

Satan And Death With Sin Intervening

This is a beautifully subtle scent of tea and...and other things. I like it very very very much. But it is quiet, without much throw.

    Terpsichore

I love to dance, so I was hoping for Terpsichore to be a wonderful scent. But she is not me. She is a pretty spicy floral, but she dries down into just wet...pea, I guess? And not sweet pea either.

    Zorya

I am getting the feeling I do not like jasmine. I get the jasmine and the musk and a touch of spice. I just fear that Zorya is too jasmine-y, spicy, not me at all. I had hopes for her. Strike two out of three Zoryas. Maybe Utrennyaya will do it.

    Euterpe

Oh dear. Poppy, poppy, poppy's evil smoke! All around the poppy are such nice things, Euterpe, why poppy? Why for me, who loves music like her own soul, did the muse of music bring poppy? Now that the poppy has raged over, Euterpe is rather...interesting. But I do not think I will wear her much.

    Polyhymnia

This is a very beautiful clear lemon balm. I think I will like it as much as Calliope. Other, herbal scents are showing up in little hints, and hint of myrrh and orris appeared about ten minutes after drying, but the lemon dominates. It clears your mind. As a mathematician, I find the Muse of Geometry the most appropriate of the muses for those aspects of my life. I think I will wear her often. I may need a large bottle. As long as my algebra classmates like lemon balm in the morning...
