  1. Peony is one of my favorite notes, so I had to try this; I traded for a bottle, and am I glad!

The peony and sweet pea (another fave) are balanced out by the cucumber and sage. I can't pick out the sea lilies, but then I'm not very good at picking out faint notes at all, so I'm not surprised. I tested this a very little on the back of my hand, and it's still wafting about (faintly) two hours later.

Is the the moss that lends it a slightly spicy air?

  2. GypsyRoseRed sent me a sniffie of this, with just enough for a couple of applications. I fall at her feet in gratitude.

What a gorgeous, gorgeous scent. I thought everyone might be exaggerating, but no. There's a hint of Smut in there (how apropos), with some chocolate, some spice, I'm not sure what all, but oh! that I had a bottle of this. I shall content myself with sniffing it every once in a while, because I don't want it to disappear.....

  3. I was really feeling lousy this morning. STBXH is coming home today; I didn't get to sleep until the wee hours of the morning, after crying for a long time about my ex-boyfriend who abandonded me just when I needed him most, and then I slept very poorly; and physically I feel drained, because I had an attack of labyrinthitis yesterday.

GypsyRoseRed was kind enough to pick up a bottle of this for me at the last Will Call, and I'm SO happy she did!

I put this on my hand, sniffed deeply, and had a vision that while lying in the breeze from the AC, my troubles were peeling off and flying away like torn sheets of plastic. I immediately felt calmer, and better able to handle things.

Oh, and it smells lovely, too! Very spicy, and creamy. I'm not good at picking out notes when I don't know what I'm smelling, but I love spicy blends, and this is great.

So it's a rousing success! I'm still tired, but boy, I'll still have a good day.

  4. Hmm. I wanted to love this because of the description and associations, and I hoped that the other notes would overpower the grapefruit, because I don't like it as a perfume scent.

Nope. The grapefruit is strong in the bottle, and strong on me. I don't like this very much, which is sad; it's the first Asian moon I haven't loved. :P

    Off to the swap pile!

  5. In the bottle: The lemon peel and honeycomb stand out. I'm not one for strong citrus, but this isn't bad at all.

Wet: Ooh, carnation! It's fruity, but not overly so.

Dry: Amber begins to show, and a touch of vanilla.

This is quite lovely. I might pick up another bottle before it goes poof.

  6. Wow.

I knew I would like this, because all the notes are favorites for me, but I was still blown away when I smelled and tested it.

The vanilla is a strong base that the other notes play off of. At first the sweet pea is very strong, but after an hour or so it backs off, and the ambers come out to play; another half hour, and there's the sandalwood. The notes dance around one another, and I love having this scent waft around me.

I'll be getting a 10ml before they go poof! This is hitting my Top Ten!

  7. A shadowy, unapproachable forest of maple, birch, dogwood, cypress and pine softened by a garland of New England wildflowers: bergamot, columbine, rue anemone, blue violet, creeping phlox, bloodroot, toadflax, and pixie moss.

In the bottle: Floral, with other notes that round it out, and make it wonderful. As I've said before, I'm *not* a floral gal, but this one is different. Maybe it's the woods that make it different from any floral I've smelled before.

Wet: There's that lovely floral again. The notes are so well blended that I can't pick out any particular one.

Dry: There's a sweetness to it now that reminds me of Pink Moon. I don't really get any woods, but that's quite okay! I love this scent.

I'll be hoarding my partial bottle. :P

  8. In the imp: Hmm, sweet flowers, but not off-putting at all.

wet: A nicely balanced blend. I smell honeysuckle mostly, but the others are there, and it's a light fragrance.

Dry: It's faded a lot, but my! I like her! I really didn't expect to, since I'm not a floral fan, but there you have it. I'll keep my imp, and who knows? I might need a bottle later on.

  9. In the imp: Flowers. Eek.

Wet: More flowers. Overpowering flowers. Ack.

Dry: She's morphed, and now I smell incense, with the faintest whiff of flowers and fruit in the background.

I have other blends that do the same thing without the flowers smacking me upside the head first. Dang. I really wanted to love this.

  10. Urd

Oh, my! In the imp, all I can smell are grapes. On, however, the patchouli starts to become stronger, and the nag champa comes out as well.

It's lovely, but I think it's more of a room scent for me, rather than perfume. It smells too much like an incense shop (in a good way!!!!).

  11. In the bottle, all I could smell was the fig, and it stayed that way for a little while.

After about 10 minutes, though, the cedar came through, and I could detect just a whiff of cocoa, which normally scares me (as it doesn't like me), but here it worked.

Lovely, after the drydown. :P I'll keep my imp, I think.

  12. When first applied, I definitely got the smoke from the description.

After a few minutes, though, it turned sour, and a weird green note showed up that I didn't like at all.

    Oh, well.

  13. Some of my very favorite notes are in here: pear, Lily of the Valley, musk.... and I can tell. What a beautiful, ethereal scent. I'm even enjoying the rose, and I'm not a big rose fan!

I normally prefer heavier scents, but this is just amazing, and will be a big bottle purchase soon.

  14. I had to edit this, because I jumped too fast on the review.

In the bottle, it wasn't anything special... even after a couple of minutes on, eh.

    But THEN....

about five minutes into wearing it, it bloomed. WOW! The listed notes were all there, but they swirled around, teasing my nose. It got richer and more complex with every passing minute, until I was walking around with my arm next to my face, because I couldn't get enough of it.

    Whew. Anyone got a cigarette?
