  1. This scent was exactly what I was hoping for. It is sweet and foody, and I just love he honey note. The throw should be a little better, but the scent is just delightful. I have yet to smell the pink pepper note, but there is something in the background that is curbing the sweetness. I'm not sure what elemi smells like. I'll have to check that out. I will say though that this scent does not last long at all.

  2. A serious, studious scent: fig, night-blooming jasmine, red sandalwood, bourbon vanilla, oak bark, leather accord, and black amber.

This scent is soft and sweet. I'm a huge fig fan and it's a great note in this scent. The bourbon vanilla supports it sweetly, as does the black amber. The leather lies in the background for quite a while, but the jasmine is there, lingering during the entire duration of the scent. I'm not a jasmine fan, but this scent makes me want to give it a try and see what I am missing.

  3. Just a hint of gorgon blood: bright nectarine, honey, sandalwood, green musk, sea buckthorn berry, and oakmoss.

This scent is a beautiful fruity but somehow earthy scent. It has a very far throw. The sandalwood is very present while the buckthorn berry turns the nectarine a little bitter. But not in a bad way! I recommend at least getting to sniff all the Pandy scents. They are lovely!

  4. I Love this lunacy. I am rarely into Lunacies. As stated above, my favorite lunacy blend other than this one is Chrysanthemum moon. This smells like ... like apple cider, even though there is no apple note. It's probably a mental thing that converts the cherry into a spiced apple scent. It is Gorgeous. I'm going to track down an extra bottle.

  5. Love it! Just love love love it. I didn't get that huge tobacco blast like everyone is saying. At least not in any cigarette vein. I have other tobacco and vanilla blends but none are quite like this. I definitely see the connection with Antikythera Mech, but every note in this is brighter and a bit more in your face. I also feel like this is a sweeter version of Haloes, with an herby-er side to it.

And it is not a morpher... not in the slightest.

    This will age Amazingly.

  6. Spilled ink. It's a bit industrial smelling. But it's Very interesting! I don't get a pepperyness from it yet but will update after some wear time.

Ok, so the pepperyness came through quite heavily on dry-down. Unfortunately it overcame the papery-ness. Which is what I was hoping for. I love love love my fairy for getting this, as it has extreme sentimental value (it's my favorite art media), but I think I have to pass on a back up bottle as it will not get extreme use from me.

An amazing blend though! So creative!

  7. Wild strawberries, strawberry flower, strawberry blossom honey, vanilla-infused sugar, early summer grasses, and milky dandelion sap.

What a beautiful moon! Wild, ripe strawberries, the extra red ones! And you can smell the tang of the 'leaves' (which i imagine is the summer grasses). The vanilla infused sugar smells like a bowl of cut strawberries dusted with sugar just before you pour the cream on. At the end of it all you really do smell the dandelion. This is my most favorite moon lately, up there with Pink Moon this year. (Yes, my foodiness has come out.)

I can't even express how, once you get past the ripe strawberry scent, there is even that...center of the strawberry scent...which is slightly muted but just as juicy. So great! wub2.gif This and one other bottle actually leaked in my order >.<; but I can't say it wasn't an amazing smelling box!

  8. Lily of the valley, patchouli, copal, violet leaf, ambrette seed, Cyprian bergamot, chocolate peppermint, and tobacco absolute.

Ooh! There's the bergamot! Bam! Next come patchouli and violet leaf. After this assaults your nose with citrus, you get the ghost of lily in the valley, fluttering haphazardly by just like a ...Bernardino dotted blue butterfly. The chocolate and tobacco may round this out to give it a slightly earthy-etheral feel to it, but that original tang in the bottle really gets you. I'll post a wet review for this one because I really want to know where it goes next.

  9. Blood orange, night-blooming jasmine, vanilla bean, bog wood, Spanish moss, benzoin, and oudh.

I am not a jasmine fan. And the second you open this bottle it goes "BOO! Jasmine! Wheee!" The orange is there in the background that makes me really want to skin test this, so I may later and add my comments. This is a deep, rich, green scent. I think the thing that makes it "rich" is the vanilla bean that does not come off as vanilla at all. I'm sure the wood and moss aspects make it darker.

  10. Smoky brown musk, cucumber, green-tinged ozone, cypress, white mint, jungle orchid, and juniper berry.

I will say that I am not a mint or juniper fan. I was not looking forward to this one at all. But wow! It is something totally unique. I can't really explain it, and it really is just kind of a ghost-flash of it, but there's almost something watermellony in here. The mint is barely there, for anyone who doesn't like mint I would not rule this one out because of it. I think there is a cucumbery-ness (look at all the words I am making up haha) that adds that fresh splash that makes it all smell a little like watermelon. And I really do mean just a little. Yet, as bright and green as this is, there is an earthiness to it that is really amazing. I recommend everyone sniff this one at some point.

  11. Cacao, tobacco absolute, Chilean coffee bean, osage-orange, and ebony.

You do get a deep understanding of the cacao note the second you put this under your nose. I think it's dancing somehow with the coffee bean, that isn't quite coffee. There is a dark smoothness to this scent that is very elegant. I don't know if it's specifically the ebony, or ebony + the tobacco. The orange is just the slightest bite to the nose in the bottle, but really comes out more when worn. So far, I think this is the most bottle worthy scent in the butterflies.

  12. Red mandarin, mimosa, pink grapefruit, copal, petitgrain, and black amber.

The mandarin was the first thing I smelled in this. And it's true, there is a redness to it I can't really explain other than putting it exactly that way. There is some grapefruit, like from baoban sith. All of this is made just a touch darker by what I assume is the black amber. I'm not that familiar with petitgrain so I couldn't tell you if that was the note in there. I do see some mimosa to it. This is a fun, but grown up fun scent =)

  13. Iris, iced lemon peel, anise seed, red current, coriander, cilantro, and white musk.

Iced lemon peel is the first thing to hit the nose. Next there is the wite musk and red current. The cilantro is hiding in there under the lemon peel which gives it a really neat depth. I'm not usually a fan of lemon scents but this one is really lovely. I can't wait to skin test.

  14. Orris root, lilac, galbanum, white tea, Italian bergamot, and blueberry.

    This one is a surprise.

I was afraid the bergamot would be too much, but I don't get any citrus at all. There is a sharpness, just a bit, but I believe it is the blueberry. This is quite more blueberry than I expected. I do not get any lilac from this yet either.

  15. Teak, ebony wood, osmanthus, patchouli, red sandalwood, vanilla orchid, tonka bean, tobacco, wild musk, spikenard, and sugandh kokila.

Right out of the mail, the patchouli is strong in this one. Straight up Banshee beat patchouli but without the creaminess. I would say the second note is the teak.

On the skin, the sandalwood and tobacco make a play but the patchouli is still quite strong. The notes I smell the least are the vanilla orchid and tonka.

  16. Five honeys with vanilla orchid, gardenia, dragon's blood resin, gingergrass, and turmeric.

I expect this to be one of the favorites from this series.

In the bottle: Honey, orchid and gardenia. There is a heaviness in the background that could easily be the dragon's blood resin, made even deeper by the gardenia.

On: the dragon's blood comes out more, and this deepens. The honey is still delightfully there but the flowers are coming more to the foreground.

After 20min: lovely honeyed vanilla orchid and gardenia. Only a hint of the dragon's blood in the background that gives it some depth. Beautiful foody floral.

  17. Saffron, pimento, cardamom, beeswax, cajeput, tomato leaf, geranium, and pink pepper honey.

What a great scent in the bottle. The first impression is the honey, saffron and cardamom. The beeswax lies waiting in the background and there is a tang of tomato leaf. I would say this is a pink and green scent. Very interesting!wub2.gif

  18. Opium tar, frankincense, lemongrass, ambergris accord, Himalayan cedarwood, coffee absolute, coconut meat, clary sage, tobacco flower, vetiver, and white plum.

In the bottle, you can pick up the incense and the sharpness of the vetiver and lemongrass. The wood is there in the background, along with the sage. However straight from the lab, there is no hint of coffee nor coconut right now. Oddly enough, this smells like an incense I used as a teen and takes me right back there.

  19. Hmm. Leather, Velvet Nudie, Snake Oil and baby powder. I'm not sure how I feel about this exactly. In my mind, it's what Dante would smell like from Devil May Cry. That just made it sexier for me. I can see why I didn't have an imp of this in my box from '04-'06. The leather would have put me off at first, but now I realize why I should have skin tested it. Thank you SO much to troublehunters for letting me try this!

  20. In the bottle it oddly smells a lot like Red Lantern. After it's applied wet, it's like Red Lantern mixed with the original Misk U (which was caramel coffee-y, quite different from the GC). On dry down the leather comes out. At work, people kept circling me saying "AHH SMELLS LIKE MAPLE SYRUP, NEED FRENCH TOAST!". So...there you go.

  21. GV without the teak is a perfect way to describe it, and how I have been since I opened the bottle. Even better, it smells like cupcakes when still somewhat wet. When decanting this, the bag of BinS imps just smelled like icing in a bag. Much love to this scent. I honestly think I need more than my 3 bottles!

  22. The white grains in this make it have that weird oatmeal note that gives me a total headache. I can't remember what other BPAL has it, but Arcana's Poisoned Candy does, as does a lot of scents that have "oatmeal". It is very interesting but it's like kryptonite for me.
