bottle: fruity floral wet: light sweet floral, slight ocean/marine scent. Soon the sweetness dies down slightly and the herbal notes come out - an interesting mix of masc/fem notes. dry: dry, the notes oscillate between a marine scent (almost too masc.) to an herbal scent with a hint of floral. Less girly than before, but still a really nice blend! A cross dresser of a scent that doesn't know who it wants to be at any given time. overall: love it! rating: 8/10

    Pumpkin Patch V (2005, 2006)

bottle: vanilla and pumpkin wet: mild pumpkin with a different kind of wood - very well balanced, neutral. dry: smells like I expected PP4 to smell like! I like it much better. overall: much nicer than PP4, I like but don't love it! rating: 6/10

    Pumpkin Patch IV (2005, 2006)

bottle: woody pumpkin wet: sandalwood and pumpkin. Spicy in an herbal (not foody) sense (guess that's orris) dry: same. Not foody, but fairly masculine. overall: not crazy about it. Had to wash it off. rating: 3/10

    Siren

bottle: I wanted to say patchouli, but I guess that's jasmine. wet: sweet and spicy jasmine, some fruit too? dry: considering I just put tarot: the moon on the other wrist… this is similar, without the musk, and a bit on the lighter/sweeter side. All the good stuff! Ah yes, ginger is there. What a great blend! Eventually it's mostly ginger, but the soft girly side of ginger. overall: great summer scent! I love this one! rating: 9/10

    The Moon

bottle: musky, a little fruity wet: musky. Spicy jasmine (or magnolia… a floral) dry: still musky. Still hints of florals, fruit, and spice underneath. But I can't get past the musk. overall: I don't like the musk (or whatever I'm "reading" as musk) in this rating: 3/10

    Catherine

bottle: trong floral musk. Not what I'd go for but I'll give it a chance! wet: musky floral… strong rose dry: the muskines goes away - I can smell the orange blossom and roses. Still a stronger floral than I prefer. Eventually the rose takes a back seat, and it's much more pleasant. overall: I like it a half hour later, but it's just not me. rating: 6/10

    Holiday Moon

bottle: fresh green, herbal wet: tea notes, light and fresh dry: lovely light clean scent! Yum. Reminds me of the good part (non soapy meaning!) of shanghai. overall: Love it, grab a bottle if possible! rating: 8/10

    Alecto

bottle: herbal and green wet: same - with a touch of a wood. dry: yum! Not fluffy herbal (cooking herbs) but green, like leaves and stems. A hint of cedarwood… yum! A very light neutral (almost masculine) scent, drydown a little like kathmandu's! overall: one of the top of my list! A lighter greener version of the drydown for kathmandu. Love it! rating: 9/10

    Luna

bottle: fruity floral wet: there's a hint of something menthol in there… a stronger white floral/fruity scent dry: dries into jasmine and other floral notes. Where midnight and evening star are light versions of a moonlit garden, this is the stronger version, in an exotic location! overall: the "menthol"ish note at first is strong and not entirely good, but it morphs into a nice floral blend. Maybe a little strong (jasmine) for me, depends on the mood. rating: 6/10

    Desire

bottle: floral (strong) and musky wet: floral with a touch of fruit/sweetness, and incense/patchouli dry: what started off as too strong has mellowed. Not sure how to describe it, but it's a nice sexy blend. A little like shadow without the lemon. It's an incense with depth and character. Eventually, it gets VERY slightly soapy. overall: I liked it until it got soapy. sigh. rating: 5/10

    Hamadryad

bottle: green and woody wet: green/fresh wood, and white flowers… really nice and light dry: same - very nice green floral, with some grounding wood notes behind it. Very fresh for summer! overall: lovely!!! rating: 8/10

    one more!

i lied. 3 more. (I came back later with these 2) and one more again... ok really. done now. i mean it. i'm going to bed!!! also, i got my underpants today!!! eeeee! i can't decide what i think about it. it is more foody/sweet than i'd like, but after the drydown, there are times i love it and times i think "eh". i'll wear it one more time, and share with eviltemptress and everyone at the meet & sniff, and i'll reconsider whether i want to keep it or not! eta: i may keep an imp, but i am going to trade/sell the rest, eviltemptress and people at the meet & sniff have first dibs, and i have a buyer lined up for anything that's left over.

    icons

well eviltemptress has been so good at the icons i've been intimidated... but i have a new favorite scent tonight, and so i made an icon for it! edited to add another one! or more... usual disclaimers, do not hotlink, save to your own site (photobucket.com rocks!)

    Evening Star

bottle: light white florals wet: same - very nice (may be similar to midnight?) definitely smells "white" dry: not much change again! Very mild, I really like it. overall: another light floral that I like! rating: 7/10

    Red Lantern

bottle: sweet, vanilla & candy… wet: smells familiar… like a yankee candle shop or baked goods & crafts shop in autumn... ah looking at the listing, it's the caramel. That's all I can discern, although there is a depth/spice to it, and I think I can sense the amber. dry: smells like a craft barn at an autumn fair, caramel apples, potpourri, and scented candles. Doesn't seem nearly as exotic as the description. Good for a room scent, but seems sooo… artificial to me. Like a yankee candle. (which are great, but not the same class as BPAL!) gets better with time, but i'm not sold. overall: eh. Would be ok for a room scent but it's just not my thing. rating: 5/10

    Henna Boxes

I did henna on two boxes but i can only show you one! (one's a gift for somebody!!!) anyway - my "test" one was a smaller box i already had on hand. it doesn't fit bottles, only some imps if they are laying down. anyway, it was a good practice run! i'll let the henna sit for a a few days, then remove the paste, wipe ammonia to get the henna stain to darken, and stain or seal the box! more to come... goodnight!

    Henna Boxes

it's a big photo. lol! it's a very "flat" box - i was putting imps in it when i first got them, it may hold 10 or 15 but laying down, not standing up. it's approximately (going by memory now) 4"x6"x1.5" exterior dimensions.

    Honey Moon

bottle: light honey, touch of floral wet: very light scent, almost a lemon edge to it…. And honey, but not as prominent as I expected. dry: Faint lemon which fades, then light honey, with some florals in the background a VERY light scent, unless you slather I suppose (but with this hard to find one, no slathering here) overall: Not quite what I expected - very lovely, but I won't be paying an arm and leg for more, I'd rather have O. rating: 8/10

    Storm Moon

bottle: men's cologne (ozone-y) wet: very masculine, ozone-y. does smell like rain. dry: as it dries, it gets less masculine, ok there may be a hint of floral… this is a standing in a thunderstorm kissing a hot guy (who's wearing cologne) scent. The drydown is more mellow but I can't get over the feeling that I'm wearing men's cologne. overall: smells really good, but really masculine, not an everyday scent. (I'd be all over any guy wearing it though!) rating: 6/10

    Delight

bottle: rose. And fruit? wet: fairly strong floral. Bright, exotic floral notes dry: same. Nice, but strong for my taste. Does tone down eventually, and changes notes quite often! overall: really nice but not my cuppa tea. rating: 5/10

    Ave Maria Gratia Plena

A pale, delicate, truly angelic blend. A scent created to emulate Adonis' halo of beauty: fragile, distant, and radiant. Rosewood with Sicilian lemon peel, red Mysore sandalwood, pale musks, sweet mountain sage and a dusting of lily, night-blooming jasmine and orris. bottle: musky floral and incense wet: incense, some citrus, a little floral… dry: the citrus came out strong just as it dried, but now it's backed off. A really nice blend, incensey mostly, but a little fresh/sweet from the fruit/floral notes. Not long after, starts to get a little soapy… and then almost disappears. huh? Strange one… overall: moments of pleasantness, but not meant for my skin. rating: 4/10

    Storage Boxes

Finished my first two!! They are both even prettier in person - the blue one has glitter on the top, and some on the paper inside. I just have to decide if/how to seal it. I'm thinking a spray finish very lightly, just on the top/outside. Here's one - it came with dividers (it's actually for tea) which i painted white, they just aren't dry enough to put back in yet. (you can see them in the photo of the previous post, that's this box open before i started.) i'm probably keeping this one for myself!! And the second - I made dividers out of balsa wood. a pain in the ass, but they work!!

    Imp Boxes

So I decorated my ammo imp boxes - i also purchased a bunch of bigger boxes that will hold bottles too and started decorating them! Here are some photos of the two ammo boxes - paper, acrylic gel gloss, and gold leaf (buddha themes - from a japanese art book and a postcard from thailand) wooden boxes waiting to be decorated! (sale on unfinished wood at AC Moore! I have a lot in plan for these, some paint, some decoupage, some henna... fun!!)
