Holy wow! The Dragon's Blood is an amber scent, and combined with these musks, I'm completely blown away. It starts out with an amber note that rides strong and sweet. Then as it dries, it warms into this ultra seductive scent as each of the musks comes to the fore. This really is not a daytime scent. I feel so sexy and sultry, like I should be on the prowl in a little black dress and high heels instead of sitting behind a desk. Good God, I'm so glad I have a full 10ml bottle of this.

When I first put this on, the amber and vanilla came out very strong, which I liked, and I wish it would have stayed exactly that way. But when it dried down, it smelled like those Strawberry Shortcake dolls. Seriously, if you ever owned one of those Strawberry Shortcake dolls when you were a kid, this smells exactly like that. I might wear it again, when I feel in a really fruity mood, but it's not going to be on the top of my list.

Well, this is another one that was thrown in for free. This was not a good scent for me. Right from the start, it was cloying and slightly off. It never fell into softness or subtlety, but just kept powering away. I think if it had just been buttercup and honeysuckle, it would have been great, but the jasmine kept throwing everything into overdrive.

This was not one that I ordered, but a free imp they threw in. Given that this is a floral scent, and I don't usually wear florals at all, I was pleasantly surprised by how well this came down. It started with heavy lilac wafting through the air, but not overpowering. It was like sticking your nose into a lilac bouquet. And dried down to a lovely scent, much like standing near a beautiful flower garden with lilac bushes nearby. Once it dried down, it was very light and subtle, and not cloying in the least. I will definitely wear this one again. A fabulous blooming spring scent for me. I should note that I absolutely love lilacs. There is a lilac bush right below the balcony of our apartment, and when it is in bloom, I love to go outside and just sit there reveling in the scent, and Nocturne reminded me of that soft subtle "you can only catch it if the wind blows in the right direction" kind of scent. And it had some great lasting power, because I put it on in the morning on Friday, and my roommate commented on it when I got home from work.

A truly fae nectar! Dragon’s blood resin and honeyed vanilla. When I first smelled this in the vial, then applied it, I wasn't too sure about it. It smelled a lot like cherry cough drops. But it's drying down into a really delicious creamy spicy vanilla. It doesn't scream "SEX" the way the DRAGON"S MUSK does, but there is a certain sensuality to it that suggests it. Definitely a keeper for me. ETA: Everytime I've worn this particular blend, I have gotten a crazy number of compliments. Strangers (both men and women alike) have come up an complimented me on this scent. Wow! I think I might have found my scent.

This, now, this was gorgeous. It has the subtle scent of dark roasted coconut. It was a little sweet in the vial, but when I put it on, it settled into something delicious and playfully sweet but not overly so. I'm definitely getting a full bottle of this.

Definitely not a good scent for me. It smelled sweet in the vial, but as soon as I put it on, the coconut and the iris started fighting with each other. The whole thing just became overpowering and way too cloying. My roommate knocked on my door to ask me about something, and she had to leave the room as soon as she entered because it was way too strong, and not in a good way. After a bit of time, it settled into something that resembled a very strong rancid suntan oil smell. My skin ususally loves coconut, so I can only imagine that it's the iris or the hazelnut (my skin doesn't do well with any nutty scents). I will most emphatically not wear this ever again.

In the bottle and when I first put this on it had the smell of a really strong English Breakfast tea, that had been slightly sweetened. As the day has gone on, it has mellowed into something deliciously sweet and sexy. I feel like I've been ravished by a "proper" English gentleman. I think this is my favorite BPAL scent to date. Who needs Colin Firth when I have this perfume?
-
When I first put this on, I was a little worried. It had such a strong cloying pungent sweetness I almost washed it off. Boy am I glad I didn't. It's dried down into such a luxuriously delicious scent. Like rolling around in red silk bedsheets after great sex. I just want to curl up and purr. I probably should not wear this to work.
-
All I could smell was rancid fig, and then more rancid fig. And it just kept getting more overpowering and cloying. I was patient enough to let it settle for at least 2 hours until I couldn't stand it anymore and had to wash it off. Unfortunately, the scent lingers, and my bathroom still smelled like it hours later. Yeah, this is not one for me.

In the bottle, and when first applied, this started out a little more spicy than I am usually comfortable with my perfumes. So, I was a little worried. But as it dried down, more of the vanilla kept peeking out, and now that it's settled entirely, it's this delicious exotic spicy vanilla flavor that makes me want to learn belly dancing. Yet again another scent that I probably shouldn't be wearing to work. One of these days I'm going to have to find a suitable work scent! Seriously!

It started out OMGPINKBUBBLEGUM, and now I can smell the orange & cherry lollipops. There is a scent under it that is lingering and pulling this out of the playground and into some steamy hot assignation somewhere. I kind of actually like it. Maybe not enough to buy a bottle, but definitely enough to want to keep an imp around regularly.
-
This started out so nice, it's hard to say where it went wrong. Probably the almonds. I can't wear nut scents because they go all dark and cloying on my skin. Add to that the rose & clove, which vanish without a trace. All that was left was the neroli, orange peel, sandalwood, and nutmeg, and it just wasn't a good mix at all. It now smells like orange juice that's been out on the counter for a couple days and gone bad. Not pleasant.
-
I kind of like it, but only enough to keep an imp around. It smells like church barely an hour after a Mass that was laiden with incense. It reminds me of old mysterious churches and sacred sanctuaries. This is kind of what St Patrick's cathedral in NYC smells like.
-
It's very difficult to be vain when the scent vanishes without a trace in about five min. It was lovely while it lasted. I was hoping this would work with me, because I haven't found a rose scent yet that doesn't disappear on contact.
-
I'm so sad. This started off as an amazingly dark full rose scent, and the roses faded so quickly that all that's left is the amber and musk. Normally, this would be fantastic, because I love both amber and musk, but in this it kind of smells faintly like a rotted flower compost heap. Yuk.
-
It smelled so good in the bottle and when it immediately touched my skin. But then it turned into this extremely sour watermelon Jolly Rancher smell. The sourness has faded, and it's settling into this fruity juicy watermelon hard candy scent. It's nice, but not enough for me to wear regularly.

Yeah, on me, all I've got is OMGTEHFLOWERSAGAIN!!!! Strong flowery overwhelming. This has got to have vetiver in it, cause it's all I can smell. Vetiver goes extremely flowery on my skin, overpowering everything else. This is definitely not for me.
-
Pina colada. Seriously. I smelled like a pina colada the whole day. Way too much coconut for me to handle in a fragrance.

Olive leaf, raspberry leaf, vetiver and cedarwood. At the beginning of the day: While this smells wonderful on me (a rich, sweet, mellow cedar), I can't help but think it would be more suited to a man. It is definitely a comforting scent, and I might buy a couple more imps of it just to have it around on those days when I need something comforting surrounding me all day. Later in the day: It's beginning to turn very lovely and feminine on me. Probably from the vetiver, which usually amps towards flowers like crazy when it hits my skin. But for some reason, it's remaining really soft and nice. I think I'm definitely going to get a full 10mg bottle of this!
-
This is probably the first cinnamon and clove scent where the cinnamon and cloves actually stuck around. It's beautiful, spicey, sweet, and warm. I might purchase a 5ml of this simply so I can have a cinnamon clove scent I can actually wear without it vanishing in 10 minutes.
-
Going on, this smelled really sweet and kind of woodsy. Now that it's drying down on me, it smells like The Pipefitter. Seriously. You go walk in the door of The Pipefitter on State Street here in downtown Madison and I smell just like that smell. Faint patchouli incense. Weird. I like it, but I'm not sure I like the idea of smelling like a store. Don't get me wrong, Pipefitter is an awesome store, but I'm not all that keen on smelling like it. I think I might use the rest of the imp in my aroma diffuser to scent up my apartment, but I doubt I'll use it again as a perfume.
-
All I'm getting is "OMG! FLOWERS!" Maybe it's the vetiver or one of the more fragrantly floral woods (maybe rosewood), but it's really strong and flowery on me. And whatever the particular note is, it's overpowering everything else. I'm very glad I didn't stick a lot on because this lasted and lasted all day, and it was overpowering, even with what little I had put on. I'm going to try to swap this one out, because this is definitely not for me.

I'm honestly not sure what is in this, but I smell so delicious today. It started off kind of medicinally strong, and I was certain I was going to hate it. But it's settled into this sweet warm earthy scent that reminds me simultaneously of walking through a musty woods on a crisp autumn morning, driving up to Door County,WI in the spring through the blooming cherry tree groves, and a drinking a spiced honey mead. There's also a real earthy scent in there I can't quite pinpoint, maybe a sweet patchouli or frankincense possibly a musk tempered with vanilla, with a teensy touch of cinnamon and anise? And the scent just keeps evolving as the day goes on. A few times, it has threatened to go very powdery, but it rides that fine line, never actually crossing it. This is a spicy sweet earthy complex robust scent, and I must have more of it.

I was really hoping this would work on me, but it just got so cloying. The patchouli with the apricot just were not a good combination for me. The apricot became very pungent and almost sour. I don't think I'll be wearing this again.
