  1. In the Bottle: Uh-oh, did I forget this has the dreaded honey in it?

Wet: Whew, no honey on me. Instead mucho musk and something unidentifiable (the mysterious UNGUENTS?)

Dry: OK, I divide my scents into 3 categories: daytime (ooo, I can't wait for everyone to smell this delicious scent!), night-time (mmm, this will set the mood), and Husband-Only (lock the door, baby!). This is absolutely in the third category.

Great animal musk, similair to Smut, but much better on me. There's a touch of sweetness way in the background - must be the caramel - and the honey, which usually amps like crazy on me, is non-existent.

Unfortunately, I must go wash this off, as we are having dinner at the pastor's house, and it might put a damper on things if I ravage my dh at the table. (now, when we get home, that's another story!)

  2. In the Bottle: Basically musk

Wet: The Dodo started off with a bit of a muted brown, medicinal smell - lots of musk and some cassia.

Dry: See, here's the ingenuity of Beth and the Lab. Sniffing the wrist, its all musk and cassia, but when I wave my hands around (constantly, because that's how I express myself), I get a beautiful whiff of lemon. Never got mango or sandlewood, but the lemon grounded by cinnimony musk lasted several hours. For me, this is a perfect sitting-around-the-house-in-my-pj's-cause-its-spring-break scent.

  3. In the Bottle: Ripe, red apple

Wet: Yup, tangy, ripe apple, just off the tree

Dry: Whoa! There's definitely something behind that lovely apple that makes it smell evil, in the best sense of the word. Opiummmmm gives it a bit of smokiness - really not sure what hemlock or oleander smell like, but the entire effect is luscious. A naughty, naughty apple.

Edited to add: In a third wearing, I finally put my finger on it - an APPLETINI!

  4. AAAAAAHHH!! I LOVE THIS!!

In the Bottle: those lemon cookies that have powered sugar on them

Wet: DUDE! This is so gorgeous! Bright, refreshing lime and fresh baked cookies. I usually only eat cookies with chocolate in them, but this is a buttery, sugar cookie that I think I would actually eat!

Dry: With my nose on my wrist I get a straight shot of lime, but wafting around me is the cookie! So Drool-worthy! (ok, so yes, I should probably go eat some dinner - but still, YUM!)

  5. In the bottle: Mostly Dragon's Blood

Wet: WOW! Lots of rich honeysuckle, with just a whiff of pepper in the background.

Dry: For the first hour or so, this is such a lovely honeysuckle, with the pepper just giving it a bit of sharpness - then it morphs into straight Dragon's Blood - all the way, baby! I didn't get any ginger, but the pepper gives it that nice spicy-itch-in-the-back-of-your-throat feel. DB tends to turn plasticy on me, but this one is behaving itself.

This has enormous throw on me, and is still going strong after 5 hours. :P

  6. OK, I know there's no bannana in this but....on me it's BANNANA BREAD with SPICES! I love this scent so much, and have gotten amazing compliments on it "What is that smell.....oh, did you bring in some bannana bread?..hmmmmm...".

This last at least 12 hours on me, and has great throw!

  7. Although I'm usually a spicy scent sort of woman, lately I've been in the mood for citrus ones. For instance I've been using a honey, tangerine and grapefruit moisturizer after my showers and a lemon hand salve throughout the day at work. Obviously I need some citrus BPAL scents to join the fun.

    Spring,

I love citrus as well. My newest fav is Shoggoth - gorgeous lemon with a background of coconut (sounds odd, but is really divine). Other favorites are Kumiho - creamy, sugary lemon drops, and Whitechapel - lime and lilacs. Manhattan also has a fresh, sophisticated lemon scent.

  8. Urd

I received Urd as a frimp from an Ebay purchase (yea!), and quickly looked up the reviews before I tried it. I was expecting the worse, as patchouli and I aren't speaking - BUT! I really am amazed by this scent!

Wet - No grape, only patchouli, and as mentioned on another post, pencil shavings - which is ok, because really, who doesnt' love pencils?

Dry - What is that UNBELIEVABLE, golden, round, gorgeous smell floating all around me? is it the nag champa I've heard so much about? (for some reason when I read nag champa, I always imagined a chewing mare). I can't keep from rubbing my face all over my wrist, a la my kittycat.

    What a lovely surprise!

  9. In the bottle, sugary musk.

Upon application, I was amazed at how light the scent is on me. I'm getting no booze, a smidge of sugar, and lots of musk. I smell what I think is Siberian musk (I have a SN imp of Siberian, which I love), and then just basically "skin".

Drydown: Musk, warm and comfy, very close to Buck Moon on me.

I think this will be nice to mix with something sharper, say, Snake Charmer (my fave).

  10. I've been waiting all week to wear my scarey gypsy costume, tobe worn with Mme Moriarty, naturally.

BUT! in the scramble to finish seeing off my final piano student, throwing dinner at the kids, putting on their makeup (one was an EMO/ punk vampire, the other a zombie princess), and putting last minute lighting and spiderwebs up in our "parlor", I totally forgot to put on ANY scent (except probably flop sweat). I was climbing out of the shower around 11pm when I saw my beautiful bottle of MmM sitting there and AAAAAHHHHHH!!!

Oh well, there's always RenFest this weekend!

  11. Incredibly gorgeous!

In the vial - Sharp orange and sandalwood.

Wet - Sweet, rich orange and juicy mango.

Dry - The white musk comes shining through, and blends so beautifully with the fruits. This reminds me of my very first perfume - a citrusy-musk that made me feel so grownup.

BPAL's white musk can do no wrong on me - and Kuang Shi is on my big bottle list!
