My son loves March Hare - apricot and cloves.
-
I am the Pumpkin Queen today.
-
So Lovely! This starts as sugared coconut, then the orange blossom and pink musk slip in to add richness, a nice bit of incense in the background. This is a total win for me - a workday Moriarty, as opposed to the Madame, who is definitely not work appropriate on me (rawr!). Such a beautiful scent!

Its still in the high 90's here, but I'm ready to crack out my Punkie Night and Pumpkin Queen. Also, my Renfest staples, Madame Moriarty layered with Snake Charmer .
-
For me its Snake Charmer all the way; although my husband calls the discontinued Rage the "Sure Thing BJ Oil".

Since I was just asked about this today, I thought I'd post thisKuang Shi is pronounced koo-ong (said quickly in one word, rhymes with the English "long") shh (with a roll of the tongue, like starting to say "Shrek").
Wow! Thanks for that! Its one of my summertime favorites, and I've most certainly been butchering the pronunciation - just like it looks, but with a country twang.

In the imp: sweet pickles?
Wet: Pickled pears! I agree that its the lavender paired with the fruit that gives it a very astringent smell.
Dry: MMMMmm, the gardenia comes out and blends beautifully with the lavender, while the pear takes off (ciao!)
Love this in the last stages, with the frankcense rounding out the florals.
Medium throw, 8 hour staying power.

Melon doesn't always work on me, but this is lovely. Ripe melon (but not overly juicey), a hint of mint, with a long finish of green tea.
-
In the bottle, pineapple and citrus
On me, no fruits, only sunny florals with a touch of tobacco. Pretty, but not the fruity blend I was hoping for. This disappeared very quickly - maybe lasted 2 hours.
-
I think I'm going with Punkie Night - it's my favorite back-to-school perfume, and since we're headed back to Hogwarts....
-
Jupita,
I strongly recommend Rosalind and Lady McBeth (which is particularly gorgeous - mostly wine on me). If you like The Temptation, you might also enjoy Katharina (apricot and citrus). One of my favorite Illyria is Lysander, which is a rich unisex scent, and very lovely in the autumn/winter.
-
Mine starts out as thick, sweet blackstrap molasses with a little currant on the side. The dry oakmoss chimes in after about 30 minutes, with the patchouli very faint in the background. LOVE IT!

This scent makes my mouth water!
It smells EXACTLY like my favorite snack tasted when I lived in Brazil - Minas cheese (very fresh, soft, and pungent) and Goiaba preserves (that's guava in the US, and a texture similar to canned cranberry jelly). You take a big slice of Minas cheese, a slab of goiaba, smear it on a thick slice of freshly baked bread and you have: Nonae Caprotina. (nom nom nommm) Now all I need is some Guarana.
What an incredible scent experience!

Ah, how I love amber and frankincense! I love how they mingle together, skipping about in the sunshine. Unfortunately, they are very shy for me in this scent, being bullied into a tiny corner under the slide by ponderous SAFFRON and her bulky cohort CHAMOMILE. You'd think an herb and a spice (or whatever they are) would be friendlier, but apparently they want the playground all to themselves. (they got my lunch money, too)

Philommeides = summertime peach.

I got my Chaos CLXII today - on my Birthday!
In the bottle it was a very faint form of Dorian, but on... oh Lordy!
A beautiful combo of Dorian and Zarita - orange blossom, sugared cream and tea.
Better than birthday cake, and less fattening!
-
I wonder if the formulation on this has changed. Like some of the last posters, I'm not getting any type of carnation, orange or even patchouli - just WOOD! I was thinking sandalwood, but perhaps, as sookster said, its more of a cedar. But, dude, whatever it is, its strong!
-
RED LANTERN!! I tried some on my man when we were getting ready to go out, and we ended up never leaving home!
-
My workout is mowing our lawn, and let me tell you, in Houston, TX, in the heat of summer, that involves a lot of sweat! I have found the scent that works best for me is Aries - the pepper keeps me motivated and the florals last the whole hour that I mow. Strangely enough, that's the ONLY time I wear Aries, as its too strong for me indoors.
-
Let me just say that Marianne was the PERFECT date to take to my favorite goth club last night. Dark, strong, lots of eyeliner.

Sooooo! THIS is what Spring smells like when one isn't suffering from hay fever! I inhaled deeply from the bottle, and expected to start sneezing and watering immediately - but no! What gorgeous clover and grasses, a hint of carnation as it dries. No rose on me, thank heavens. This one is long lasting on me, and I snatched up 2 bottles.

I was fortunate enough to enable my sister this holiday season ! After going through my stash, she decided that ROSES where her favs. However, I have almost no experience with BPAL rose scents, because rose on my skin becomes the raging Hulk (ROSE SMASH!!). For you rose lovers out there, what's the most popular?
She also favors grassy scents, so any rose/grass combo would be lovely also.
Thanks for your help!

Started out with a lovely almondy sandlewood, then immediately the EVIL rose came out, and its all baby lotion. (ggrrrrrose! I should know better by now!)

SueDonym,
Thanks so much for that informative and entertaining reply. I doubt I will ever actually make it across the country for a WillCall, but now, through your lovely description, I feel like I've been there (ok, and now I feel even WORSE).
No, really, Thank you for filling in the blanks - now my imaginary WillCall will be even better...hmmm, a hug from Brian, eh?
Scent for Halloween?

Wore my 'party' combo for last night's bash: Madame Moriarty, Snake Charmer and Red Lantern.
For the first day of the year, I'm using up my last smidge of LIZ.
