Fresh From The Imp: Bad pizza. Yeasty & herby. Wet On My Flesh: It's making my eyes tear. Eww. The things I go through for these reviews. Drying Down: I have *no* earthly idea on how to describe this, other than BAD. There's a yeasty smell under the bay. Hour To Integrate: Moldy bread. A good, hearty, loaf of penicillin. End Of Day/Final Report: This is one of those scents that I can't imagine for the life of me someone actually wearing, or even wanting. I didn't smell *any* incense that I'm familiar with, and the bay was just overpowering for the most part. I'll probably toss this into the frimpage pile, if no one wants it as a swapper.

    Venice

Fresh From The Imp: Vibrant, slightly sweet. Wet On My Flesh: Getting some lemon. Drying Down: I'm hoping for some of the more complex odors, but I'm still getting mostly lemon. Hour To Integrate: Lemon's died off in favor of the mirad of flowers. End Of Day/Final Report: Really reminds me of The Unicorn, which I'm already keeping. Swap.

    Goneril

Fresh From The Imp: Geranium & cedar. Wet On My Flesh: A lot of cedar, with a hint of flowers. Drying Down: Lily is coming out, with the cedar still lurking underneath. Hour To Integrate: Flowers died down, cedar again. End Of Day/Final Report: Swap.

    Morocco

Fresh From The Imp: Sweet, almost vanilla? Wet On My Flesh: About the same. Drying Down: Smoky frankincense. Hour To Integrate: It's reminding me of the drydown for Scherezade; sweet, sultry, and a little smoky. End Of Day/Final Report: I already like Scherezade, so I don't need this one too.

    Seraphim

A perfume sacred to the highest of the angelic hosts: calla lily, wisteria, white sandalwood, Damascus rose and frankincense. Fresh From The Imp: Heavy rose. Wet On My Flesh: Rose still heavy, getting wisteria & calla lily. Not much of the other two. Drying Down: More of the wisteria, and stronger lily. Rose has died down. Hour To Integrate: Reminding me of those bath cubes I used to get when I was little; floral and a little soapy. End Of Day/Final Report: Not really for me.
  6. MistressTera

    Magus

Fresh From The Imp: Whoa, booze. Wet On My Flesh: Still boozey. I'm not getting a single one of the notes mentioned, but then again, I'm not familiar with half of them. Drying Down: Alcohol's gone, leaving what seems to be coconut and sandalwood. Hour To Integrate: A really faint, not-spicy-at-all sandalwood is all I'm left with. End Of Day/Final Report: Swapping. I'm *so* swapping this.
  7. MistressTera

    Ra

Fresh From The Imp: Lemony. Wet On My Flesh: Lemon with a hint of flowers, like sunshine. Drying Down: Lemon's gone, soapy undertone remains. Hour To Integrate: Just a hint of soap, and a bit of musk seems to be peeking through. Nothing like when I first put it on. End Of Day/Final Report: Nice, but not a keeper.

    Vixen

Fresh From The Imp: Sweet patcholi. And damn, this is a dark colored oil. Wet On My Flesh: I've got an orange patch on my wrist, but it still smells like sweetened patcholi. Drying Down: A hint of spice, very little of the patcholi, and I haven't gotten any of the orange blossom. My wrist is still a faint orange. Hour To Integrate: It reminds me of Scherezade now, with a similar spicy smoke to it, but not as sultry. End Of Day/Final Report: I don't like the scent enough to put up with being a funky color after putting the oil on. Swap-a-rooni!
  9. MistressTera

    Vice

Fresh From The Imp: Bittersweet chocolate, almost unsweetened. Wet On My Flesh: There's a little more of the fruit now, with just a bare hint of the chocolate. Drying Down: Oranges & cherries. I can't really get the chocolate now. Hour To Integrate: Sort of plastic-like, in a fruity way. End Of Day/Final Report: Definitely not keeping. Buh-bye.
  10. MistressTera

    Khajuraho

Fresh From The Imp: Floral, no outstanding notes. Wet On My Flesh: Hint of sweet, with rose & a familiar floral I can't pin down but reminds me of my time in Panama. Drying Down: The sweet is drawing out into notes I can detect. There's the date, and there's the honey, and the flowers top it all off nicely. Hour To Integrate: The florals and the fruits have all blended together into a wonderful melody, layered with just a drizzle of honey. End Of Day/Final Report: See, this is why I try *not* to get LEs. This was a frimp, so it came to me without my consent, and now... I WANT MORE. BLAST YOU. ETA: I just wrote this over in the "What BPALs move you?" thread, and I felt like I needed to add it. It just sums up so clearly why I like this blend so much, since my review has been bugging me as it hadn't really explained it. It reminds me of the three years my family spent in Panama, with all the exotic florals that constantly sprung up around our house. I was so young then, emotionally, and spent more time outdoors and with people there than I ever have, before and after. Khajuraho reminds me of being a child, carefree and happy.

    Penthus

Fresh From The Imp: Sharp & poignant. Wet On My Flesh: It's a flower I recognize but can't name, and a hint of musk. Drying Down: Slightly powder in fragrance, with a hint of... Dill? Hour To Integrate: I'm very much reminded of a good strong rye bread, so I'm definitely going to lean towards the dill/carraway description. End Of Day/Final Report: Not for me.
  12. MistressTera

    The Raven

Fresh From The Imp: Flowers with a hint of orange. Wet On My Flesh: Mostly orange now, but I imagine it'll die out soon enough, as orange is wont to do on me. Drying Down: As I thought, the orange (or neroli, I suppose I should call it) is gone, leaving behind violet and a touch of iris. I'm waiting for the musk to come out, as I love musk so much, but I'm afraid of the sandalwood appearing and dominating everything. Hour To Integrate: I've got a hint of musk, and a lot of violet. End Of Day/Final Report: It's not *quite* my style, but I think my sister might like it. Enabling, away!
  13. MistressTera

    Sin

Fresh From The Imp: Cinnamon & sandalwood Wet On My Flesh: Big Red chewing gum under a desktop. Drying Down: Still a lot of cinnamon, which obscures most of the other notes. The barest hint of sandalwood is there, but I can't get anything else. Hour To Integrate: Not a lot of change in the last hour; it's still going strong, and much like it was shortly after I first put it on. End Of Day/Final Report: While I like long lasting scents, I'm not terribly thrilled about this one. A good swapper.

    Black Annis

Fresh From The Imp: Something like a cedary insect repellent. Not very pleasant. Wet On My Flesh: Quite masculine, actually; pungent with that cedar undertone. I'm not finding any licorice, which is probably good, since I don't care much for licorice. I'm not sure what that pungent bit is, though. Drying Down: EWW. It's as if someone half-washed a crap covered bathroom with bleach. I *so* want to wash it off now. Badly. Hour To Integrate: N/A. I WASHED IT OFF SO NYAH. I'm still gagging. End Of Day/Final Report: I'm guessing the massive poo odor was the civet combined with the licorice, since I'm pretty sure I've worn civet before without that icky reaction. This is definitely a swapper.

    Cathedral

Fresh From The Imp: Very woodsy. I can't pick out any individual notes, though. Wet On My Flesh: This reminds me of the dresser my grandfather made. Everything that goes into it comes out smelling like a combination of cedar, pine, and oak. And that's what I'm getting so far with the oil. Drying Down: I'm picking up the old church references now: The wood of the pews, the faint hint of incense in the air. Hour To Integrate: Most of it has faded away, leaving very little behind. End Of Day/Final Report: As neat as this one is, I don't think I'll be keeping it. I get this same smell out of my dresser every morning, after all.

    Venice

Fresh From The Imp: This was the very first scent that I read about and went "OMG HAVE TO HAVE", so I was quite excited when my order from the Lab came in with it. Out of the bubblewrap and up to my nose, to find lots of citrus and a tiny base of florals. Wet On My Flesh: I put it on my wrist and barely got the wand away before I was sniffing it, too. Surprisingly, I'm strongly reminded of lemon drop candies. Tangy, not too sweet Drying Down: My first thought was that maybe I still had such a header from sniffing it straight out of the bottle that I was still smelling that when I sniffed my wrist, so I forced myself to wait five minutes to give it a chance to dry. So, I smell tentatively, and get... A citrus blend. Try as I might, I can't pick up any of the flowers. Hour To Integrate: An hour later, it's gone. End Of Day/Final Report: This wasn't *anything* like I was expecting it to be, and I'm quite disappointed. I'd probably be heartbroken if I hadn't already found half a dozen other oils that I like, and two that I love enough to be plotting big bottle orders. Swap away, little imp with the name I can never remember. Find a good home with someone who loves you!

    Scherezade

Fresh From The Imp: All I can think of is "sweet musk". Not that this is a bad thing... Wet On My Flesh: Still musk, with a hint of spice. Someone else said that it blended so well that it was hard to pinpoint particular notes, and I'll have to agree. Drying Down: Still musky, still spicy, and it's even now developing that smoky scent I've come to love so much in my Moscow. Mmm. Hour To Integrate: It's holding strong on me, luckily. A lot of the scents I've been liking lately will fade away after an hour or so. End Of Day/Final Report: I like this, but not enough to buy a bigger bottle yet. Will definitely keep this imp.

    Zephyr

Fresh From The Imp: Wow. This reached up and smacked me hard to get my attention. Pungent, and quite sharp. Wet On My Flesh: It's instantly different once it's on my wrist, much more subtle with the tiniest hint of musk, which has a habit of being smoky on me. Drying Down: The musk is more powerful now, losing some of it's smoky quality. Hour To Integrate: Never seemed to get much of the lemon, though that may have been what was sharp to begin with. It's much more musky overall, and I can begin to detect the vanilla now. End Of Day/Final Report: I've got two imps of this. I'll keep one on hand for when I'm feeling darker, and swap out the untouched one I got from the Lab. Oops, correction. Looks like the original imp I got in a swap leaks, so I'll just keep both of them.

    The Unicorn

Fresh From The Imp: My guess would be that one of these white flowers is lily, since that's what I'm getting the biggest wiff of. That, and something sweet. Wet On My Flesh: Mostly the flowers now, light and airy. Drying Down: Somehow it's managing to get *stronger* than it was originally, with just a hint of the first sweetness that it showed. Hour To Integrate: The sweet is practically gone, and the flowers are fading out. It's still a very "white" scent to me. End Of Day/Final Report: I'm not normally a floral person, but I've got two imps of this, and I'm KEEPING THEM BOTH. NYAH.
  20. MistressTera

    Moscow

Fresh From The Imp: Very tangerine with a hint of florals. I'm liking this already. Wet On My Flesh: Not much other than tangerine, actually. Pretty much the same as out of the imp. Drying Down: Oooo, there's the jasmine. It's bonding well with the tangerine. *This* is what I've always envisioned my dream oil blend to smell like. Please, please, PLEASE let this stay! Hour To Integrate: The tangerine has died down a bit, letting the other notes play up the jasmine. End Of Day/Final Report: After two hours, it all faded down to a very nice smoky scent, almost like a rich incense. I LOVE THIS. I've been wearing it all week. 10ml bottle for me in my next order!
  21. MistressTera

    Chimera

Fresh From The Imp: The combination of honeysuckle and cinnamon have combined to bring me... ALMONDS. Hmm. Wet On My Flesh: The cinnamon is stronger here, but I'm still smelling almonds. Drying Down: Pretty much the same as it was when I first put it on, along with a faint burning sensation. I'm hoping I'm not sensitive to the cinnamon. Hour To Integrate: Argh! I'm a PlayDoh person! I can still smell the almonds, but it's as if someone stuck them into a jar of preschool's finest. End Of Day/Final Report: Into the swaps with you.

    Arcana

Fresh From The Imp: I get hit by the lavender hard the moment I open the imp. As if I wasn't sleepy enough this morning without the help of a noseful of calming agent... Wet On My Flesh: The verbena joins forces with the lavender now, creating a very strong lemon-floral aroma. Most of the imps I've tried so far haven't shown off more than two notes to me immediately upon application, and this is no exception. Drying Down: Whoo, Pledge. It was going so well, and then it morphed into furniture polish. Lemony furniture polish, but furniture polish none-the-less. Hour To Integrate: Whatever it was that caused that polish smell is gone now, leaving frankincense behind. I smell this resin more than the florals, but the florals are there, hiding under everything. End Of Day/Final Report: I know I should be happy to have found something else I like, but DAMN. At least I don't like it enough to buy more than an imp.

    Morgause

Fresh From The Imp: It comes across as very clean to me, the lily holding its head up high among the other scents. Wet On My Flesh: Once I get it on, the lily pulls back just enough to give some of the fruit room to maneuver. Drying Down: It's beginning to sweeten, enrichening as it stays on my skin longer. I believe the roses are coming forth now. Hour To Integrate: Becoming light and powdery, Morgause has morphed into something my brother called "Old lady smell". Phoo on him, for I like it. End Of Day/Final Report: If I keep keeping imps like I'm keeping the keepers, I'll have nothing to swap!
  24. MistressTera

    Gluttony

Fresh From The Imp: All I could smell was molasses and ginger. It was so sickly sweet that I almost couldn't bring m'self to try it on. Wet On My Flesh: Straight gingerbread, fresh from the oven. I'm not sure why, since I don't see any reference to spice in the official description, but that's what my nose is telling me. Still sweetish, but not so bad. Drying Down: Most of the ginger scent has faded, leaving it rather cake-ish with a hint of lemon. Hour To Integrate: Definitely becoming more tolerable now. Sort of like a spiced honey. End Of Day/Final Report: After a few hours, I'm left with the scent of fine pipe tobacco. This isn't a bad fragrance for me, so I'll probably keep the imp around. If I can find someone selling a 5ml bottle, I might even pick that up, too. BONUS! Kitten's Opinion: GOOD GODS CAT LEAVE ME BE. She took one whiff and refused to stop rubbing my arm.

    Grog

I picked this one out because, hey, who doesn't like rum? When I first pulled it out of its packaging, though, I started having second thoughts. After much debate, I decided to go ahead and try it. After all, how it smells on the imp doesn't necessarily say how it's going to smell on me... Fresh From The Imp: Take a pound of butterscotch hard candies and a pint of rum. Boil them down in a pot until you wind up with a thick liquid. Throw some butter in there. Now you've got what I smelled when I opened the imp. Tasty, but as a perfume? Wet On My Flesh: Now there's a hint of coconut. It's greatly reminding me of these cookie bars I make every so often, with butterscotch chips, coconut, sweetened condensed milk and graham cracker crumbs. The alcoholic scent is no longer present. But why is the rum gone? Drying Down: Buttered plastic. No coconut, no butterscotch, and definitely no rum. Hour To Integrate: Oh, ew. Fresh Barbie plastic. I'm not getting any of the other notes. Apparently I've found one of those "special" notes that turns to plastic on me. Joy. End Of Day/Final Report: Despite my brother's insistence that this smells good ("Like vanilla"), I'll not be keeping it. Into the swap pile with this one!
