  1. I just acquired a bottle of Upa Upa and I adore it! In the bottle it definitely smelled butterscotchy and rummy. When I put it on a hint of cinnamon came forth. At first it was a bit overpowering but after about 30 minutes it started bonding with my body chemistry. Now I'm sorry I didn't try to get more of this one when it was available. I really love this scent.

  2. Wow, I forgot how much I love this scent. I had ordered a 5ml two years ago, mixed it with alcohol to make a spray cologne and wore it for several months. Then I ordered new scents and got distracted from Elegba.

Then yesterday I found the bottle again and took a deep whiff and fell in love all over again.

When I sniff this scent I'm struck by the rum and coconut. I don't really smell the tobacco. When I spray it on I'm enveloped in a cloud of coconut rum. Then it dries down and takes on a bit of a caramel aroma that I adore.

But I have to be careful with this scent, it's fairly potent on me and it would be easy to over-do.

But this is definitely one of my favorites.

  3. I was very excited about this scent - cherries, currants and woods! I thought "what's not to like". Then I put it on and found out.

In the bottle I could smell the woods but the cherries and currants balanced it. On me it smelled like pencil shavings. That's the only thing I can describe it as - the smell in a pencil sharpener just after you've sharpened a pencil. I have no idea what the heck my chemistry did to this one. But I want to give it another try before throwing in the towel.

  4. This is a scent I really wanted to like. The description sounded so amazing and I'm a real fan of cassis (I'm a sucker for black currant). I was thrilled when the 5ml arrived and couldn't wait to open it. I took a deep sniff and the cherries definitely hit first. They were rich and deep, reminding me of a cherries jubilee or something. But then I got the cassia and I got nervous. Cassia is actually a cinnamon-type scent (think red hots) and very different from cassis. So I though maybe I'd read the description wrong or that the cassis would come out after the red hots scent died down.

I tried it on and unfortunately for me, the cassia doesn't go away. I smelled like a box of cherry-scented red hots all day. The cassis never made an appearance (I wonder if that's a typo).

But I really want to like this scent so I'll give it another try in a few days and see how it goes.
