  1. Bottom line - do what works best for you, and we'll all deal with it!

    Exactly.

If we need to go to signature required, I'll have them delivered to my office instead. No big deal.

UPS or Fedex are easier for me, and have a better track record in my personal experience, but it's all about what makes business better - on so many levels - for you, Beth.

There's never anyone home at my house all day. I don't even get home until the post office is closing. I don't know how I'd ever get my packages. Isn't there a way you can mail stuff (I did this with Lush swaps) that is called delivery confirmation and the mailman has to sign that he actually delivered the package, but he doesn't have to make you sign for it? Also, I can't have my package sent to work cuz I work in large hospital. I would still order no matter what Beth decides to do. I guess I'd have to figure something out. I just wish everything would start working out for poor Beth. Enough already!!!

  2. It looks like 99% of the orders up to 3-5-04 (Internationals excluded) should be leaving today. I processed their tracking info last night, but since I never got a confirmation for them from the USPS, I'm going to have to assume that none of the recipients did either.

I've got a new little helper and she /seems/ to be working out very well.

Back to the oil mines...  :P

    .Brian.

Does that include the lost package reshipments?

Sin: Gluttony -- Too much of a good thing is never enough for me...Just ask Beth, she can vouge for this. I started collecting 5 ml bottles of BPAL (placed first order on 12/26/03) and now have over 80 bottles.........yes I am addicted. At least it's not a self destructive addiction.

Virtue: I believe in treating every human being (and animal) with sincere compassion and respect. The world can always use more kindness. It is such a harsh place.

Astro Info: LIBRA with Virgo rising and Moon in Sagittarius....straightorward by nature, dislike conflict. Virgo rising....analytical, critical and good with detail oriented work. Typical Libra, indecisive, tendencies towards instant gratification and overindulgence, diplomatic, strong inclinations toward music, art and drama and relationships are important.

I found BPAL over Christmas while the Lush Forum was down. I discovered it on the UK forum and was so intrigued by it that I started a thread on the NA Lush Forum and the rest is history. I have been using pure fragrance oils for about the last 7 years, but I'm glad I found BPAL, as I love the funky, dark edge her oils have and the large variety to suit my many moods.

I, also, conversed with Beth via email and she is quite colorful and animated in her writing and I immediately took a real liking to her. She is such an interesting and talented person. I once asked her how she got into the "Perfume Business" and she totally blew me away with her response. She is so talented and experienced at this stuff. Her extensive knowledge regarding voodoo recipes and astrology intrigue me and she makes the best smelling oils I've ever tried. I love her and know I drive her crazy with my BPAL obsession. She is such a sweetie. I have only known her since she's been sick (Christmas time) and now duing this USPS snafu. I really hope things calm down so I can get to know her a little better. It's nice being in this BPAL family (cult - he he).

Sorry for the long reply - detail oriented, obsessive/compulsive Libra who is VERY passionate about BPAL. Beth Rocks. If she ever stops creating, she may as well RIP MY HEART OUT.

  5. Giant Hug to Beth!!! One of my order reshipments arrived in large box of BPAL wonder. I smelled fabulously Bordelloish all day..........one of my new favs. The more I get of this stuff, the more addicted I become. I think I will NEED to place another order as soon as the new stuff comes out and I'll need to order 5 mls of the imp's ears I fell in love with thanks to the Lovely Beth.

Once again Beth...........YOU F'CKIN ROCK!!! This goes way beyond talent. You are truly one of a kind. We love you!!

And Yay for the post office that doesn't steal the oils for themselves. (Sorry Beth...I know you're trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, BUT..)

  6. This isn't an answer, but rather a queston I was going to post that is similar to your question.

My question is..........does Beth make Seasonal scents, or are the LE's considered the seasonal ones per se? I was planning on getting some lighter scents for the spring and summer and I don't know if I should wait or just order now.

At what times of the year do the Limited Editions scents come out, besides Autumn and Christmas?

    thanks everyone!

  7. My goodness, I must real pile on my scent. I have a couple long plastic droppers that I got from the oil retailer I used prior to BPAL (you can also use the droppers like you get from the Vet for your animals). I put a drop on each wrist, elbow, neck, and behind knees. I tend to be cold all of the time, so I find putting the scent on places like behind the knees and inner thighs heats up and releases more fragrance.

  8. Beth,

Sorry to hear all the news!! Things are bound to get better. I was starting to think someone was stealing the packages, as mine have all been huge orders and they seem to "get lost" quite often. I'm so sorry about repacking and shipping, etc. PMS & and a handgun!!! Let me find that F$#cker selling your oils. I bet a large part of them are the dozens and dozens of my 5 ml bottles. I hope you can get it straightened out soon. This whole situation really bites. Karma is a bitch. Now breatheeeeeeeeeeeeee

Please try to relax and enjoy the rest of Vegas...Hey, maybe you'll hit a big jackpot. Good Luck!

  9. Ditto........Access is your answer. Much more simplified and geared towards what you need it for.

 I have the feeling I'm the one of the main reasons you can't keep info on a 3x5 card anymore :P

Oh and when I start my new job, I'll be going to Access classes (along with Evil Excel).

  10. lorajc, sirensongsouth, and laivine: you are all gals after my own heart. As I was reading through the first page of posts, I started to think I might have a problem. Here were people who talked about having 1,2, even 12 new "must-have" fragrances. I was beginning to feel a bit self-conscious, due to the fact that there are about, um, 30 new fragrances that I'd like, and I will probably order 18 Imp's Ears, like, as soon as I finish writing this post  8) . But when I read the posts of the 3 lovely ladies above, I didn't feel quite so guilty. So happy that BPAL exists  :P .

I don't think I have a problem, I KNOW I have a problem. I get very passionate (addicted) to things I love! I didn't order imp's ears either, I ordered 5 ml bottes. Scary, huh? Elizabeth probably curses every time she packs one of my orders.

  11. Thanks Elizabeth, you creative genious you!! I am totally addicted to your lovely oils. I look forward to a long, loyal relationship as a customer/friend. You are truly one of a kind!! I certainly hope you never get so stressed out with life and your other job and stop creating your oils. If you do, and I've stated this before, you might as well rip my heart out cuz I'd be lost without these gems!!

  12. Hi,

I have Hellcat and I can't detect almond at all. It smells like buttery rum and boozy at first....it dries down to the wicked bite part or a little more bitter. I love it. I'm not sure about the other scent. I have a 10 ml bottle of Hellcat, so I just put up a 5 ml bottle I also have for swaps if you're interested.

  13. Ooh good thread :P

I simply adore Lush's Hot Java. Does anyone know if there are any BPAL perfumes that would compliment it? Or even better, one that is similar to it?

Funny you should ask this. I took a Hot Java bath last Sunday and used Vixen and they compliment each other well. I wouldn't say they are real close, but again they compliment well.

On a different note: I think Skinny Dip compliments Velvet...coccoa vanilla woody/spicy goodness.

Carnivale is perfect with Potion. Very nice together.

  14. I have a sample of Faustus on the way also. I'm having a hard time waiting. I keep telling myself to wait for the package before I order again (and believe me, I have a huge order coming), but something happened with my order and they had to redo it....so I still didn't get it yet. Anyway, I tried to order the Faustus on my last order cuz I like cinnamon also and Elizabeth said I should try it first. I'm not real big on the sample vials, as I use so much oil (dry skin and I use a lot) that the samples aren't worth it for me. I'd rather buy the 5 ml. I'll try to hang in there and be patient (not one of my strong suits - although I totally understand everyone at the Lab was sick and they're behind). Please do let me know your thoughts on both Fautus and Saturnalia if you try it. I do love Lush's coconut products, so I think I like Vetivert.

  15. I want to try one of these and I need help deciding. I realize the Saturnalia is violet and vetiver and the Le Serpent has vanilla, gardenia and violet. The Fautus has frankincense, cinnamon and violet. I don't know which one I should try. Can anyone compare these for me? Also, I usually like deeper scents/woody/spicy ones. I also like vanilla. I'm not sure about vetivert. I've never smelled it as a single note. I would appreciate any thoughts. The only violet products I have used are Lush's Bathos and Skinny Dip which has mainly clove, white chocolate and violet. Thanks in advance everyone.

  16. I like Lillith and I like Lady MacBeth, but they are quite different. Lady MacBeth is sweet, tangy and fruity.....winey..lovely and a tad bold (I like it alot, but some might say it's too sweet). However, Lillith has the wine in it but is darkened with the myrrh, back musk and attar of rose. I like Lillith, but since I can detect the rose in it, mostly on the drydown, I've decided not to purchase it. I hope that helps.

  17. Tamora - Illyria -

Amber, heliotrope, golden sandalwood, peach blossom and vanilla bean.

I got a sample of this in a swap and again it's not a surprise that I like it, as I love all of the notes in it. It is yet another well blended work of art by Elizabeth. It is a lighter fragrance even though it has the amber and sandalwood in it. This would be a scent I would wear in the spring and summer, as I tend to like heavier ones in the cold weather (actually all year round). I only tested this on my wrist so far and have not actually worn it all day long, so I'll have to update this after wearing it, but I don't recall any particular notes standing out. They all blend together well and I don't think the sandalwood or amber were particularly heavy in this one. It was a very slightly woody peach vanilla scent. I will update this after wearing.
