Previous poster said it's better than Candy Butcher. She's right.

Could anyone please help me with a recommendation for an "evil mermaid"? Something that screams "beautiful mystical creature luring unsuspecting sailors to a watery grave" or even something a sea hag might wear(aquatic but herbal?).
Thank you!
Maybe Undertow? Description says....
The Dark Side of Water: clean and purifying, yet menacing — lotus and juniper with a hint of mint. A scent dragged up from the depths to the Stygian shore.

Cannot believe I have not reviewed this already...maybe I was too busy smelling myself. I use my oils in the bath and sometimes for post bath moisturizing. This is a wonderful sweet, icy peach with honey and cream. Cool and lovely. I think Balame nails it above by saying, "it's very refreshing but indulgent." Perfect description. I get no florals at all from this either.

Still on the hunt for something similar to Lush's Amazonian massage bar (i LOST IT when they discontinued this. I have a paper thin slip of this that I keep wrapped in cloth in my drawer and sometimes I pull it out. And weep). It's Patchouli, Orange Blossom, Ylang Ylang and Tangerine.
A friend somehow got her hands on Obeah ages ago, and it smelled pretty similar, but it's impossible to find. A Countenance of Forboding Evil is Blood Orange, Patchouli, Ylang Ylang and Vetiver, that sounds close right? (RIGHT?! oh god please let it be right) I've yet to try that one. Anyone think it's comparable?
Amazonian was heavenly.... It's not a clone but the GC blend Desire has a very similar feel on me. Would be super easy to track down an imp too!

Desire (bittersweet neroli, black patchouli and black musk, gilded by apple, bergamot, blood red rose, teak, and vanilla) is a lovely GC blend with very well behaved patchouli. Sweet, floral, and incensey.

My mother-in-law just gave me some Honey Trap lip balm and the scent is heavenly. There is no scent description for lip balms but it contains honey, shea, white chocolate, vanilla, almond, and sweet orange oils. Anyone have any suggestions for a BPAL clone?
ETA for spelling derp

Just got this today and slathered the second it settled down for a few hours. It was everything I hoped it would be. In the bottle I get a warm amber with a hint of orange and an almost waxy scent. After application the amber and orange really glow and the waxiness fades and becomes a tad powdery. After about 15 minutes I have to agree with a previous post that this is a holiday version of O. Divine!!

Seconding Rapunzel in Ballpoint, it's lovely!! Also, in the General Catalog is Delirium, which is apples, lemons, and roses. It's very light and crisp and you can pick up an imp very easily.

This is my favorite HG so far. On me Shiny Furball is this lovely sweet vanilla tinged cedar that has a 'fresh" element to it. I was worried some of the notes would make this too sharp, medicinal, or "green." But no, it is divine and so smooth on me. Sweet, mellow, and woodsy.
-
This is so delicious and decadent and every kind of right. I get mostly a chocolatey, hazelnut coffee scent with a hint of pine. Divine.
-
You can also use scent lockets if you are concerned. Just dab your favorite oil onto some felt or muslin cloth and put it into the locket.

Congrats Gory!!! I used the following as a guideline for my oil usage during my two pregnancies. It has a nice list of what you can and cannot use.

I am a foody/boozy scent lover and slathered away during both my pregnancies as most of those blends do not have any oils from the no-no list.
ETA: I cannot remember what I did during breast feeding time. I was usually so tired I would forget to use any scents!

this is a really neat idea - to make it harder for y'all I have tried...a lot of things over the years so I'm really curious as to whether anybody can suggest something I wouldn't have thought of, or confirm some of the things I'm still desperately seeking :x my top five :
1) Glühwein
2) Black Pumpkin Floss
3) Story Time at Dark Delicacies
4) Egg Moon
5) Shub Niggurath
tried to do some honourable mentions but it just devolved into a list of everything else I own :x
Have you tried Third Charm,The Arrival at the Sabbath and Homage to the Devil, or Red Lantern? Your faves seem to be complex with a hint of sweetness. Those might be worth at look. Or maybe Butterscotch Balls and Black Beetles?
-
That is a toughie! Many people get maple and florals from Al-Azif. Maybe give that one a try? Perhaps layer with Uncle traveling Matt, which is super figgy.
-
Throw me in with the Creepy lovers. It is awesome!! Also, I would say Black Pumpkin Floss, it's sweet, maple, pumpkin!
ETA: Punkie night! Apples and cider and cranberries!

I love this thread! As a nine year BPALer I still get new awesome ideas.
Current top five:
Blood Kiss
Suck It
Ghoulish
Blood Popsicle (!!!)
Madame Moriarty
The Most Honorable of Mentions: Halloween Las Vegas, Cake Smash and Hellcat. (Looking for velvety, sweet, decadent things.)
Hey there Fury sugar, sounds like you are singing my song! Have you tried any of the following?
Centzon Totochtin - blood and chocolate and wine
Countess Willie -Chocolate plum musk, red musk, amaretto, candied fruits, and red ginger
Creepy - butterscotch apples
Red Lantern - Amber, coconut, caramel, and black current
and since you said velvety things....
Velvet - sandalwood and cocoa with vanilla
ETA: I love this thread, so fun!!!!

Alright, lets see what you lovelies think I'd like:
- The Girl
- Door
- TKO
- Black Lace
- Boo 2010
With Mouse's Long and Sad Tale being that one I just can't bear not to mention but have a hard time fitting in there.
Against Idleness and Mischief (kinda like Door but heavier on the honey), Beaver Moon I 2013 (you have some creamy faves and this is delish)

I found a similar vibe in Lemon Scented Sticky Bat. I like both a lot, but LSSB is lighter that Delight and Consternation.
-
Centzon Totochtin is pretty un-nerving. I love the scent itself: sweet, bloody, and boozy. But I sure as hell don't wear it to bed. It makes for disturbing dreams.

Oh this stuff is divine. It's everything I love in a scent! The description of being "heady" is quite true. It's got throw like whoa. Not a 'light' or "sheer" type of smell. It's smack you upside the head stuff. It's very well balanced on me. I can easily pick out the notes of honey, magnolia, and peach. The honey and peach together give it an almost boozy aspect and the magnolia keeps it from smelling like candy. Sooooo goooood.
-
I get a lot of lime and yuzu with only a touch of ginger. But Holy Moses is it good. I love citrus scents and this one is so well blended. So nice in the hot sticky summertime.
-
One of my favorite atmos so far! Very, very well balanced. Sugar, lemon, peach, and a light hint of florals. The tea isn't too present to me. Fresh and girly. Going to be awesome in hot weather!!
-
Lovely and true to the perfume oil. After bathing with the bath oil I feel like I get a much longer and stronger wear than with the perfume oil. Delish.
-
Neroli is a floral that I associate in my mind with other heady, strong, white florals. Like the gardenias, jasmines, and tiare or monoi. Not shy and super sexy but with some warmth.
What I especially like is that it doesn't have any of that rough edge that some of the other white florals (hello, jasmine!) can get. it's always so lovely and creamy.
Exactly!!

Oh so lovely. I see what all the fuss is about. Wet it is incense in the kitchen cupboard. It doesn't morph much for me but stays a sweet, spicy, incense blend.
