  1. In the bottle, this is very sandalwood-y.

Wet, the sandalwood and blondewood is a sharp scent, drying out my mouth. No hint of the dragon's blood.

Dry, this is still a very dry scent, but there's a faint hint of sweetness on top - the dragon's blood. I can only smell the orris if I sniff at my wrist, but it might be in the background. (I think, at least, since I've never sniffed orris on its own).

This is a terrific scent, one of my favorites so far. It's very calming, to me, but also makes me want to go out and do the things that need to be done, even if I don't like them. I used this scent when I needed to make some unpleasent phone calls, and I think it really helped. It does last a short time on me, maybe two to three hours instead of the usual five to seven of most scents.

As lots of people have said, it's very dry, bringing forth the picture of sun-bleached bones in a desert of hot sand. But k00kaburra said it the best - the dragon's blood adds a hint of something else, like the bones are about to move, shaking off their years of accumulated grit before reforming into a skeletal beast. It's very powerful and image-invoking.

  2. In the vial, this smells almost like incense. I was surprised, since it doesn't have any notes that scream 'incense!' to me.

Wet, this is a sweet vanilla, with a hint of florals. No trace, at all, of whatever made it smell incense-y in the vial.

Dry, the florals disappear, but the musk comes out. This combo lasts several hours, until the musk fades away a bit, leaving just the vanilla and a hint of depth.

The vanilla in this was a bit syrupy, like the stuff you put in coffee. Overall, this is a nice scent, but I don't think I really like it on its own - it's a bit too basic, with only two notes and little change. It's *great* layered with other scents, though. (I really like it with Harlot. :P )

  3. In the bottle, this smells kind of... icky, I guess. I don't know how to describe it. Astringent, almost.

Wet, I swear, this smells just like patchouli. I thought I was crazy for smelling it, but I asked my sister, and she smelled it to. Which was too bad, because I hate patchouli.

Once it dries, though (about 10 minutes), the patchouli smell disappears completely. Now it's a lovely jasmine-vanilla blend, with the faint hint of ginger and *maybe* some fruit.

This smells just like my favorite candle as a teenager, a jasmine candle. None of the other jasmine blends I've tried have had that smell, so I'm very, very pleased with this one. It's jumped up to my second-favorite catalog scent. I'm buying a large bottle of this ASAP.

Small note - I barely put any on (as I only have an empty imp of it, and there was less than a drop left), but the smell wafted and lasted for hours. It's a strong, strong scent.

  4. I was worried about this, because I've had problems with greenery, but this scent turned out great on me.

In the bottle, it was very lemony.

Wet, it smelled like lemon Pledge or some other cleaner. I was really close to washing it off due to a headache when all of the sudden (in the space of maybe 30 seconds, I swear), the lemon just cut out and I was left with a faint lemon scent and a strong green tea note. It was really weird.

Dry, it smells just like lemon and green tea (a combination I'm not a huge fan of, drink-wise, but smells wonderful), with the faintest hint of aloe and musk in the background. If it wasn't in the description, I probably wouldn't have noticed it.

Like a previous reviewer, this got a little sweeter as time went on - likely the musk - but it was in the background, very faint.

It's a great scent on me (after the first few minutes, and I'm willing to sit through those), and one I'll be buying a large bottle of for the summer.

  5. In the bottle, it smelled just like fruit punch.

Wet, it smelled like cherry cough syrup, but after about five minutes, all the cherry just up and vanished.

Dry, it's at first pure strawberry vanilla - like an expensive strawberry cream soda. After a little while, a little bit of musk comes out and warms the scent. Eventually the musk makes itself more known, matching the soda smell.

I didn't get any amber or heliotrope, and no cherry after the first few minutes. A bit too soda-y sweet on me, though it would be perfect for a young girl. Perhaps I'll see how this smells on my niece.

  6. Okay, not sure if we really *need* another review, but...

In the bottle, this just smells generically sweet to me.

Wet, this is cream and honey. No almonds and no grains.

Dry, this is a terrific scent on me. Warm (I think it's from the grains?) and sweet, with just the lightest touch of milk. I didn't get any almond scent at all.

Overall, this is my second favorite scent, and the only one I'm willing to wear pretty much anywhere. It's a warm, comforting scent, but not overpoweringly foody. I had to buy a bottle of this right away. And it wasn't even on my list to try - Rheliwen was sweet enough to send me a frimp of it when I bought something else from her. :P

  7. In the bottle, Wrath is very spicy. I can't smell the dragon's blood at all.

Wet, it smells like Big Red gum, but I was expecting that - cinnamon always starts off like that on me, overwhelming everything else. After about 15 minutes, it stops smelling like gum, and becomes much warmer and mellower.

Dry, I can now smell the dragon's blood, sweetening the whole scent. The cloves are definitely there, and the pepper is faintly in the background. The whole thing smells warm and comforting - not what I was expecting from a scent called Wrath!

The scent is really, really nice, and could quickly become one of my favorites - if it didn't fade after about an hour of wearing it. Within an hour and a half, I have to practically inhale my entire wrist to get any scent, and after two, there's absolutely nothing there.

This is the first time I've had this problem, so I don't know what note or base causes it yet - I'm disappointed, because I really like the scent, but I'm not willing to reapply every hour, especially not with the Big Red gum phase.

  8. CCCLXXVII

I got this from someone on the LJ forum - she was afraid it had jasmine in it, so didn't even try it.

In the bottle, I can totally see why she'd think that - it's strongly floral, with a sweet scent that I'm pretty sure is jasmine.

Wet, the florals are very strong - jasmine and at least two more florals, though I couldn't say for sure what they are. All are sweet smelling, though.

Dry, other scents are coming out - there's some musk in this - I think it's white musk, though I'm not well schooled in musk scents, so it could be a different one. It's definitely not a dark musk, though. I *think* there's also the faintest hint of some sort of incense - I can't say which, though. It might just be my imagination, too.

Overall, this scent actually reminds me a little of Mi-Go Brain Canister. It smells similar on my skin, though overall less sweet and with florals instead of fruit. It's a very nice scent, I just wish I was better at figuring out what was in it!

  9. I was so looking forward to this scent - it was one of the first things I swapped for - but it just didn't work out.

In the bottle, I smelled rose with a hint of greenery.

Wet, I smelled freshly cut grass. It smelled *exactly* like mowing the lawn on a hot summer day. Surprisingly, no rose at all.

Dry, the grass smell became stronger and more acrid, and was pretty bad. A little bit of rose came out - a very sweet rose smell - but was completely overpowered by the nasty grass scent. I can almost catch the alcohol smell other reviewers mentioned, but it fades in and out.

Throw was quite strong, as was staying power.

I might try this one as a room scent before I swap it away, but I won't be wearing it again.

  10. In the bottle, it was cinnamon with a hint of rose behind it.

Wet, it was pure cinnamon - nothing else. And a Big Red gum type of cinnamon, too.

After it was dry for a bit, the rose started to come out a little, eventually overtaking the cinnamon. The cinnamon stayed in the background, warming the scent nicely.

It only lasted a short time on me - maybe two hours? Three max. A nice scent, but I think I'll be happy with just my imp.

  11. In the bottle, this smells very sharp and clean. Very sharp.

Wet, this is still that 'sharp and clean' scent, but there's something warmer in the background, too. The amber?

Dry, still that sharp scent, but it's even stronger now - it actually leaves a taste in my mouth, heh. There's still that warm note in the background, stronger now.

Very long lasting, with pretty good throw on me. A very refreshing scent.

On me, it smells exactly like Sunwater by Lancaster, one of only three perfumes I've ever liked, back when I could still wear perfume. I've missed this scent! I'll be carefully rationing this bottle, I think, and I wish I had been into BPAL when it first came out.

    Overall, a 4/5.

  12. In the bottle, pure florals - I couldn't smell any fruit at all.

Wet, it was still entirely floral - I'd had high hopes for the fruit smells other people talked about, but no dice.

Dry - finally, some fruit! The fruit starts taking over completely once it's entirely dry, with the florals staying pretty strong in the background. Like a previous reviewer, I also smell something that's almost like white wine, but only in the distant background.

Faint powder smell, which, since I'm new to BPAL, I don't know what note it's caused by on my skin - I think it's one of the fruits. It's pretty faint, though.

Very, very sweet, and very strong. Florals and fruits both tend to magnify on me and throw a lot of scent - this one is no exception. If I decide to keep it, I'll have to dilute it with something, I think. After wearing it for four or so hours, it's still going strong, and it gives me a bit of a headache.

I'm not a huge fan of florals or fruits, but this is a very, very nice one. As other people have said, very well blended. I don't think I'll get a bottle of this, but I think I'll enjoy having a diluted imp around for days I feel like something a bit sweeter than my usual.

As a side note, it's perfectly named - very much how I would picture Titania smelling.

    Overall, a 3/5 for me.
