  1. Imp: Sugary cake with even more sugary frosting and just a hint of vanilla

Wet: The smell of the vanilla intensives and now a little hint of berry sneaks through, creating a mouthwatering combination. I now want to eat cake – or my arm.

Dry: Sweet, but not overpowering. Smells very tasty. Just may have to invest in a bottle.

  2. Imp: Odd….smells of apples and something else; something smoky

Wet: The apples are coming out more, as well as something else I can’t identify quite yet.

Dry: This doesn’t morph on me. It’s just straight apples mixed with a smoky, comforting smell.

I got this as a frimp and I’m glad I did because I quite like Verdandi. Based on the lab’s description, it’s totally not something I’d have picked out, but I really do like it. I don’t think this is something I’d buy a bottle of, but I think I’ll always want to have an imp of it around.

  3. Imp: Buttery with a hint of spice

Wet: The butter scent sort gives way to the spice, with the result that Jack becomes spicy and sweet and feels like warmth.

Dry: Much spicier now and I can also pick up a trace of the pumpkin and a hint of peach –it’s like a spicy pumpkiny March Hare.

I’m very fond of Jack. I don’t smell an “In Your Face” food smell, but rather the idea of pumpkin. I think Jack smells sort of like the idea of a cold autumn night spent in front of the fire with apple cider.

  4. I was really hoping to like White Rabbit (and not just because I love Alice's Adventures in Wonderland).

But alas, I didn't. I smelled nothing but pepper. In the imp and on my skin. Nothing else - just pepper.

Thinking that maybe it was an off day, I decided to put it away and try it later. After three more tries, I concluded that White Rabbit and I just were not meant to be. I didn't smell any linen, honey, vanilla, ginger; no tea, no milk. Just pure white pepper.

    So sad! :P

  5. For some odd reason, last fall, I decided to give Prague a try, as I would be traveling to it's namesake. I have no idea what prompted the temporary insanity, as I am not a floral person and florals don't care much for me either.

So. I gave Prague ago anyway....and ATTACK OF THE FLORALS!

Seriously - my nose was so displeased with me. Prague latched on and would not let go. It's just very, very very florally. I could really, really pick out the lillies. It's far too girly for me and far too floral.

After I sneezed for 30 minutes straight, Prague started going soapy on me. So then, instead of smelling flowers...I got soapy flowers.

Needless to say, the imp of Prague found a new home extremely quickly.

And I'm really, really glad that the city of Prague doesn't smell like the oil.

  6. Ah, this is one of my favorite bpal scents so far, second only to Dorian. It's lovely and soft - but not too soft. Antique Lace has a lot of throw on me and lasts for hours. I only need to apply it once and I'm good for the rest of the day.

I remember when I tried it, I was a bit afraid as I'd heard that it was a bit floral and the description includes flowers I don't like florals and they don't like me. But I bit the bullet and fell in love!

Antique Lace, for me, really does capture the essance of the idea of antique lace - soft and creamy, slightly sweet - but not too sweet, vanilla-like....

For me, it doesn't smell matronly - it smells like memories! What I mean is that is smells like the comfort of an old memory - one that you love and that makes you feel better; a memory that makes you smile and puts you at ease.

I would love if my own linen smelled like Antique Lace - I want to smell it all the time!
