  1. Not at all what I was expecting from a New Orleans blend. I guess I was hoping for more earthy blend based on the notes listed... more like walking along the levee on a dark night. Instead this blend is a bright floral with crisp sweet olive as the top note, quickly drying down to a subtle white floral scent with very little staying power. None of the deep moss I was hoping for.

Within 30 minutes this was almost impossible to smell on my wrist. :huh?: Still a very pretty blend, but not reminiscent of New Orleans nights on the river.

  2. Stinky is delightful! I absolutely love the label art.

On my skin it smells like honey and those powdery Choward's violet candies with a creamy sweetness to it- not milky, just sweet.

I know violets are not listed in the blend, but I'm positive that's what I'm smelling. At first the honey is really overwhelming, but it settles down after a few minutes. This is a wonderful, light, clean everyday blend.

  3. I get a bright fresh lemon note when this is right out of the bottle. As it starts to dry, a light tobacco leaf scent emerges.

This is a fairly complex scent on the dry down, but sadly is fades away far too quickly. I love tobacco blends and this is no exception, I just wish it stuck around longer. :(

  4. At first this blend is all CHOCOLATE syrup and fruit!

I love the Lab's chocolate note and this blend is perfectly delicious. It's not too overwhelming with the candy sweetness and dries down to a subtle pomegranate syrupy booze scent.

  5. I didn't expect to like this, but as it turns out, I LOVE it.

It's a soft, slightly floral (rose?) skin musk that reminds me of Velvet Nudie but better. My husband says it smells like soap and it does remind me of freshly washed skin.

Very light and pretty scent, I don't get the "something not quite right" at all. .

  6. I was really excited about this blend- in fact I bought 2 bottles. Sadly ZA is awful!

It smells like Pink Phoenix (which I love) and cheap chemical-smelling plastic. On the dry down it does soften up but it never looses that plastic smell. I had to wash it off because it was making me sick. *cries*

Maybe it will age better *fingers crossed*

  7. First impression- This smells like those little bars of soap they give you in hotels- very sweet, slightly floral scent.

Wet on skin- Very floral. This reminds me of my antique rose bush in my garden.

Dry- clean musk with the barest hint of floral. This is a light, clean scent perfect for summer.

  8. I bought a bar of Perversion soap for my boy, since it's one of my favorite scents on him. I love the presentation of the bar; it's wrapped beautifully and looks beautiful (gray with scrubby flecks of black), but that's about as far as my love goes. I was really disappointed in the fragrance. I don't think that I would ever have made the connection that it was supposed to smell like "Perversion." It just has a generic soap smell, like any hotel room bar soap. It smells like soap. It has a light scrubbiness to it.

My boy liked this well enough. It lathered well and he said he felt very clean afterwards. He was rather amused by the name, more than anything, lol.

For me, this dried out my skin really badly, even worse than the other BPTP soaps I've tried. My skin still feels very tight, dry and unhappy after the shower, even after applying lotion several times. I think this is the worst my skin has ever felt, dryness-wise.

These soaps just don't seem to agree with me :D

My bar smells nothing like the oil- there is maybe a slight hint of almond- but nothing else. :P I cut a small piece off to use in the shower and am very unhappy with the quality of this soap, it lathered ok, but left my skin very dry.

I had high hopes for this soap, perversion is my favorite BPAL oil, but will never purchase this soap again.

  9. First thoughts: Light and feminine.

I'm not a fan of florals, but wow... Zero actually works on me.

It's a crisp, clean white floral with a hint of lingering sweetness. This is such a hard scent to describe... Zero is an appropriate name...

I wore this to a friend's bridal shower yesterday and recieved a half-dozen compliments on it.

  10. I have to be honest... I only ordered this blend because of the name. My 160+lb Mastiff/Great Dane mix is named Odin and he's my pride and joy. He was named after the Norse God because a big powerful dog needed a big powerful name.

    *enough rambling*

This scent is devine. Truly sensual, manly musk in it's perfection.

On my wrist it takes on a sweet, spicey and darkly complex blend of woods and herbs.

On my fiance, it smells like delicious man-musk and darks woods. *drool*

This has deffinately become a "top 10" BPAL for me.

  11. OMG... I *love* Hellion... This could be the most *perfect* "me" scent ever...

    Black plum+ Nag champa+ dark musk+ patchouli +sandalwood= Perfection

This scent is so rich, warm and sexy... I'm resisting the urge to slather it on... After my heartbreaking experience with La Fee Verte, I'm tempted to *beg* people to swap with me so I can have *more* Hellion...

    *sigh* What to do.... :P

  12. I feel like the only one NOT crazy about La Fee Verte... it smells like lemon-lime bathroom cleaner on me. *yuck*

No honey notes, no sugar or booze or wormwood... just Sprite-scented bathroom cleaner. :P

The bottle is *so* pretty... I absolutely *adore* all things Absinthe... and I love little statue... *sigh*...

  13. OMG this is decadent... smokey tobacco, warm syrupy caramel and sweet spicey currants.

Nothing buttery or foody on me except an initial strong caramel note that fades as soon as the oil dries. The tobacco is a little strong at first, but mellows quickly to a sweet, smokey backdrop for the spicey sweet currant/caramel notes. There is almost a coffee or expresso note in this, but it's faint-- like someone had been drinking rich dark black coffee with cream in the room moments before.

This should be a fun scent to let age. I have a feeling it'll really be amazing in a few months.

  14. Warm rich dirty musk and earth... maybe a slight hint of sweet juniper berries...

I'm so glad I bought this scent. It's complex and thick, warm and animalistic. There is almost no change to it the longer I wear it.

  15. OMG this is so damn good. And the different lables on the bottles are too 'effing cute!

This scent is so sexy. My fiance is very "excited" about this one. He loves when I wear Snake Charmer or Perversion, but he says this is his new favorite on me.

It's sweet, slinky, sexy and just a little bit naughty... perfection!

  16. This is the ULTIMATE *sexy* feminine BPAL scent.

White musk and patchouli? How can you not *LOVE* this scent? After finally testing my little frimp of this, I'm hooked... I *need* more. It's soft, sexy, feminine and alluring... my fiance is also in love with this scent... He keeps sniffing me and kissing my neck...

I think I have a new top 5 BPAL scent...

  17. This is warm, spicey and a little perfumey on me. I love it!

The moss notes are musty and earthy, with hints of cedar bark. Spicey black pepper, and sweet juniper berries with underlying cardamom create a complex and gorgeous scent.

This has staying power too! After 5 hours I can still smell it on my wrist. Very nice.

  18. There is something oddly attractive/familiar about Puck... it's animalistic and powerful... not for the faint of heart.

At first it smells like someone poured gasonline, sunscreen and grape juice into a bowl and swirled it around a few times...

There is a "mechanical" smell to this, like motor oil... This reminds me of being in my bother-in-law's shop, working on my little Honda Express moped... oil stains, grease, sweat and his rottweilers...

Honestly I like Puck... but I don't think I'd ever wear it/ use it for a room scent/ open it again...

  19. Seduction, sensuality, the Act, and the aftermath all in one. The scent of warm, damp skin flushed with the glow of passion, touched by the luxuriant potency of ylang ylang and myrrh.

This is a deep, richer version of O. The vanilla note is gorgeous on my skin. My fiance claims to like this better than "O" but not as much as Snake Oil--whatever that means--

This has some serious staying power too! I dabbed a little bit on before going out last night, and I could still smell it this morning before I took a shower!

    Sweet, sexy and long-lasting! :P

  20. Burning hot Cinnamon and something earthy... like the smell of hot, sun soaked rocks in the desert.

There is also a sharp medicinal quality to Salamander... I really like this.

Very firey, unique and powerful BPAL.

    edited because I can't spell :P
