  1. I wanted to go with a less-literal name for this scent, but Lilith vetoed me! My little monster is a tremendous help around the garden. She helps me water, plant, and deadhead the flowers, but by far… harvesting is her favorite chore.

Sun-warmed, slightly squishy blueberries plus overgrown grass, overgrown honeysuckle, overgrown lavender, overgrown lemon verbena, and a smattering of un-pulled weeds.

Mmmmm. I get fresh, realistic blueberry initially and then lots of lemon verbena, which I love. This is fresh and beautiful, no lavender that I could detect - or perhaps just a whisper. It smells of sunshine and happiness and you need some. I almost got a bottle at NYCC and I may still order one...and I don't usually like berry scents at all.

  2. This is very sweet on me, with lots of honey and pear. I got a bit of coconut, but not much. It's a happy, beautiful scent and I wish honey and pear were in my wheelhouse, but they are just too much on my skin. Pear never, ever works for me, sadly.

If you like sweet, happy, summery scents this one is for you.

  3. Pumpkin artwork by Ruby Velez!

Pumpkins, pumpkin vines, and wild mushrooms with white sage, cade, sweetgrass, and vanilla-infused rosewood.

And now for something completely different! The pumpkin is very present - and it's not buttery at all - but I got a lot of sage and a lovely, earthy (mushroom?) grassy smell. A true pumpkin patch scent, as in you are sitting in the field after the harvest and there a few pumpkins left behind and they are slowly returning to the earth. They aren't rotting, not yet, but everything smells loamy and fecund and earthy. I believe this is the first pumpkin I've tried where there are no spices to be found.

  4. YUM. This reminds me of another BPAL, but I can't think what it is. Maybe Pinched With Four Aces? I love the tobacco/black sandalwood combo, and the myrrh gives it just enough sweetness to smooth it out. This one came home with me from NYCC. It is going to age like a dream.

  5. Haitian vetiver, tea leaf, Himalayan cedar, and apricot rind.

I think this is a blend that needs some age to smooth it out and bring out the subtler tea leaf and apricot rind, because all I got was VETIVER (which I love) and cedar. Oddly, I was also getting a coffee vibe, and I have no idea where that was coming from.

  6. I agree with the "fuzzy brown" assessment that most reviewers are giving above. Something about brown sandalwood actually reminds me of amber: it's got that dry smoothness happening, and the lovely orange blossom and warm tonka give it a bit of airy sweetness.

A very nice blend, understated and grown up. I didn't order a bottle, but I will use my decant for sure.

  7. Hmmm, this is an interesting one. I love citrus and I do not get much of a citrus vibe from this at all. There is a note here that I can't identify, but it smells very distinctive...maybe that's the cardamom. (I need to go and see if I have any in my spice cabinet so I can compare it to this blend.) Anyway, whatever that note is goes a bit weird on my skin. It's not unpleasant, necessarily, but it's not something I enjoy, either.

  8. I love this blend. I'm not usually a 'fruity' gal, but I enjoy the bright citrus-with-a-twist quality of this very much. I adore the smell of thyme, and I am definitely getting that here along with the lovely fruits. I think the woods serve to just ground this nicely; I do not get cedar per se.

I didn't end up getting a bottle, but I will use and enjoy my decant and may hunt down some more on the forum as well. There are times when I really want something bright and cheerful, and this fits that bill quite nicely.

  9. Nope. This one does not work for me at all. Something skews as slightly plastic on my skin (normally vanilla is the culprit; vanilla orchid has never done that on me so that's a first), and it's just too sweet/franky. The cream note is wonky, too.

Glad I tried it so I know what the fuss is about, but this one does not love me at all.

  10. Mmmmmm, I love this scent. Normally bay rum skews way too masculine for me, but here it is balanced perfectly by the tropical floral notes. Tobacco leaf is always a win on me. :wub2:

So: a lovely blend of sweet tobacco and lush florals wih a splash of bay rum. Delicious

  11. I adore this. :wub2:

I love orange, I love tobacco. Hay sometimes gives me pause, but here it does little more than ground things and keep them anchored. The tobacco and sweet orange are perfectly balanced and equally prominent, with neither overpowering the other.

This is what Heaven smells like.

  12. Peach blossoms, olibanum, myrrh, and white sandalwood.

This is lovely! I still get light peach, even though this is the blossom - do peach blossoms smell like the fruit IRL? I have never smelled them.

At any rate, this is a beautiful light incense - the most delicate peach incense you can imagine. Upon first spritzing, it's sweet and more peach/floral, then after a few seconds the incense comes through and it all blends nicely into what definitely reads as peach incense. It is very, very pretty.

It makes a perfect powder room replacement for Peaches In the BPAL Garden, which I just used the last of.

    :wub2:

  13. With patchouli, white jasmine, and glimmering golden musk.

This stuff is gorgeous. It smells...round, and golden, and only slightly sweet. I get peach for sure, and bergamot's distinctive presence, and both are rounded out quite beautifully by the combination of the musky patch and the jasmine, although I don't pick up those notes individually once the gloss is on my hair. In fact, "white jasmine" is not registering as jasmine at all. I hope we see more of this note!

The throw is minimal, so this would be very nice for fragrance-sensitive environments. I can smell it if I put my hair up to my nose.

As with all the glosses, my hair is shiny, full, et cetera too. ;)

    Fabulous stuff. :wub2:

  14. OH MY GOD...A PEACH I CAN WEAR! YAAAAAAAY!

This is perfect. The peach is more the supporting player on my skin; it doesn't overwhelm me nor does it turn super juicy and sickly sweet, like every other peach blend I've tried. I was hoping the "dried" quality would make it work for me, and it totally does. I can smell it, but it blends beautifully with the musk (not your typical, distinctive black musk, btw, so if you're scared of that - don't be) and spices. And this is not super spicy, either, and no cinnamon or clove are to be found. These are expensive, subtle spices, baby.

Sweetish (but not too sweet), slightly musky, with lovely exotic spices. Like I said: perfect. :wub2:

    :woohoo:

ETA: I forgot to give some love to my fairy...thank you so, so much for picking up my giant order for me. You are the best.

  15. This blend is rich, rich, rich. "Musky Nutter Butters" is pretty accurate, and there's something that cuts the richness with an almost sharp undertone. It's registering as a leafiness, so it may be the peanut leaves. Mostly, though, this is all about musk and roasted peanuts.

The musk isn't black and it isn't brown; there's no black musk lemony edge and there's no fuzziness or furriness. It's syrupy and gooey, but not sweet...which is fascinating. And despite its Nutter Butter impersonation, it's not like most foodie-type blends...which is good. I do not like to smell of food.

Utterly unique and unlike anything else in my collection.

ETA: Over a couple of hours, this became less gooey and slightly more musky; unfortunately I awoke in the night with a bellyache (from the CJs loaded nachos, not the Peanut Musk) - but all I could smell was the Peanut Musk, which suddenly seemed super foodie on my skin and sort of added to my nausea. Now I associate the scent with a hurtin' tummy, and will probably not be able to wear it again.

  16. Attraction Conjure Spray has quickly become one of my very favorite TAL products, so much so that I invested in a second botle and am contemplating a third. It immediately gives the atmosphere (and me) a subtle 'lift', lightening the mood and brightening the energy of the space. It almost sparkles. :wub2:

I love that the conjure sprays provide a way to support ritual work much as loose incense does, almost a quick 'punch' to get your working rolling, but they do so with no mess, fuss, or waiting for the charcoal to heat up. They are a brilliant and very valuable addition to my hocus pocus.

I use Attraction whenever I am doing any sort of 'drawing' work: feeding my lodestone, candle money work, road opening, love and friendship, et cetera. I also use it when I light my daily altar candles, as a way to bring in joy and peace for the day.

Wonderful stuff. Oh, and it smells bright, citrusy, and slightly sweet.

    edited for a spelling fail.

  17. A prelude to prophecy: use prior to divining to clear your mind of noisome thoughts, relax your conscious inhibitions, and increase accuracy and receptiveness.

I love this blend, and it's exactly what I needed to prepare me for Tarot card use. I feel that my intuitive ability with the cards is greatly improved, and the readings tend to flow beautifully. Next I plan to use it prior to scrying.

Of secondary importance, but I'll still note the scent: I get lavender, and it has a slightly 'bracing' quaity, similar to eucalyptus. I smell this in my Tarot conjure bag, also.

  18. Hidden beneath a veil of thick, sweet black cherry lies a lecherously lovely lust blend that includes aged black patchouli, bourbon vanilla absolute, and cubeb berry. This lust blend can be employed both as a fragrance and within a ritual environment to attract sexual partners, vitalize your libido, and create an aura of playful wantonness.

In the context of religious ritual, this oil can be used when venerating Aphrodite or Ishtar, or when appeasing Tlazolmiquiztli.

This blend smells great, very cherry heavy, and worked nicely in terms of evoking the "playful wantonness" mentioned in the description. Love Oil 7 is still my go-to lust blend, but this one is a close second.

  19. Three white cakes, vanilla, and red and black currants.

OMFG, what is that delicious smell?!

Oh. It's me. Me, and my Eat Me hair gloss. :yum:

Like the atmosphere spray, this smells exactly like the perfume oil: the richest, most delicious vanilla cake you can imagine (no hint of frosting, just cake), spiked with currants to keep it from being too, too sweet. Eat Me is my one foodie BPAL, and it's the best.

Like all the BPTP hair glosses, my hair is shiny and well behaved yada yada yada. Seriously: if you have not tried them yet and you have hair, get thee to the Trading Post and get some. My ultra-fine, straight hair looooooooves it. I spritz a couple times into my palms and apply it to dry hair, being careful to avoid my roots. Some folks prefer wet application, so try both to see what works for you. BPTP gloss adds a nice amount of body and my hair looks gorgeous, but best of all: it smells fucking amazing all day long. :luv2:

If you love Eat Me, I hope you got some of its hair gloss!
