Vaniclion

Embalming Fluid was one of the scents I chose purely on ya'lls recommendations, and THANKFULLY I did! Out of the bottle, it's very potent. Very lemon. After I put it on, it's a very clean almost soapy smell. It's very yellow, turning into green. I very much get the musky undertone with the tea and the lemon being the most vivid notes. It's invigorating and yet calming at the same time. Fresh and clean, like... vacation. There we go! It smells like vacation! I love it. Deffinitely a keeper for me, and light enough to be a daily scent I think.

Initial reaction? MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! When I first opened the imp to sniff, I groaned because it smelled so wonderful. Light but still complex. Complex is just the word to use. It's very powerful, almost too much for my sinuses. As I described to TygherRayn, 'It's like Old Spice should be if everyone had good taste'. As it's dried, there's a certain spicy undertone to it, with an herbal/woodsy overcoat. VERY masculine on me, but not at all floral. Extremely warm, like... a rich forest green with dappled sunlight. Amorphus and wonderful. The only problem I have with this scent being named Oberon is that I can't imagine any woman making a man in this scent a cuckold. Now, what I forgot to mention in this original review, and am editing now to put up, is that Oberon goes incredibly soapy on me. I wore it again today and it was like *BAM* This is why I don't wear it... so thought I'd share

WHEW! I opened the imp and was BLOWN AWAY. So strong out of the bottle. Very powerful, dark and moist. Now... I love rose. The combination of dragons blood resin and rose was what originally drew me to this scent. That being said, this is so not for me. Incense would be WONDERFUL. On me? Way to feminine. After a couple hours, it has dried down nicely, catching more of the resin notes... but I still smell like an attractive woman. Which I'm absolutely the opposite of as a cute gay man. Anyway. Great scent, but I don't get any of the wine. Most likely a swap since of my two best gal-pals, neither cares for strong rose scents.

See, I'm having a completely different reaction to this scent. It /does/ smell like the Blackberry & Sage tea (which I love, and was the original reason for my ordering it), but much sweeter. Like candy. Out of the bottle, I imagine this is how a particularly delicious magic potion would smell. Sparkly, almost crystaline, like candy... but with woodsy undertones. On me, it mellows and deepens but I still can not decide if it's /too/ sweet. It's right on that edge. All I know is that I can't stop sniffing at my wrists and, frankly, the scent makes me feel happy. I love it. I'm not sure it's an everyday scent, but I'm sure it's a keeper.
