    Liz

I was a little weary about Liz because the combination of leather and smoke sounds like it would be up to no good on my skin but I love the character so I had to get it. In bottle: All sharp floral. Hmm... not really what I was hoping for. Wet: Holy leather batman! It's amped and it's not the nice aged leather smell either. Wow I know it sounds weird but I smell like tires that ran through a flower field. I was thinking I would have to sigh defeat and put it in my swap collection.... Dry: Ooh this is nice. The leather amps down considerably after about five minutes. It's a creamy floral vanilla with a leather background that you can smell if you get close enough. It's an odd mix but it works quite well. This is mature and feminine, no doubts about it. I will keep it. It's not quite what I was expecting or looking for but it still turned out nice. The fiance liked it a lot. I don't know that I'll wear it all the time but it will get some use. Not too much throw like others have mentioned, it's more subtle than not but that probably works out better for me otherwise it'd be all leather. The true beauty of this one definitely comes out in the drydown.

    Yankee Candle to BPAL

Ok so it's not a perfume but I would love to find a scent that smells similar to Yankee Candle's Vanilla Lime. My fiance absolutely loves that candle scent, and I like it a lot too. I'm a citrus fan in general when it comes to bpal and I've tried some of their citrusy scents and they're all quite nice but they are all sharp and clean, I want somethingy creamy like the candle, more sweet and foody. I don't even know if bpal has something like that?

    I Married a Vampire from Planet X

This smelled nothing like I would've imagined from the notes. It honestly smells very floral, a sweet herby floral but unfortunately 95% of floral scents go the same way with me in dry-down. And this was the case here too, all powder in the end.

    Zombie Apocalypse

Wet this smelled like cherry syrup and caramel sauce. Nice and sweet. But the dry-down was so different. It was a plastic tart cherry. Not what I wanted. I mean it wasn't bad but very generic smell. I agree with the poster above that said cherry pop-tart. I was hoping for something more along the lines of Bloody Mary, and maybe it's my skin chemistry but this was a disappointment. I had really wanted to love this because the name just rocks and I love zombie movies but alas it was not ago for me.

    Berry Moon 2009

I was slightly disappointed in this one. In the bottle it smelled sweet with underlying musk and same with wet, it was a perfect berry scent. But in the drydown the musk was heavy, heavy dominant. It's still lovely and I'll keep the bottle and wear it every now and then, I only wish the way it smelled wet and dry was the same. It was just killer in the bottle but the musk is a bit too amped when it's dry on me.

    Midnight on the Midway (2006)

I bought this from a forum member unsniffed because I really loved the idea of sugary incense. Unfortunately there was no sugar to be had for me . In bottle: Wet flowers. Bleh, bleh, bleh. Wet: All floral with a tinge of incense. Dry: Soap, soap and more soap. I knew I risked this chance when buying this one. 80% of florals don't work on me and either fastly go soap or baby powder. This unfortunately was one of those. I liked the bottle art though. Ah well off to the swap pile.

    Aunt Caroline's Joy Mojo

This is all sugar right here. Imp: Strawberry lollipop. Yum. Wet: Still strawberry lollipop. Dry: Not quite as strawberry but definitely still a candy smell. It's very nice. Verdict is I like it a lot. This is something I'd probably put on right out of the shower at the start of the day. I'd like to have a bottle but yet I'm not sure if I would actually wear it all that often. It just gives me the feeling it would be one of those oils I buy then forget I have. It's certainly a fun and pretty smell but nothing too unique or extraordinary but quite nice all the same. Oh and it also has quite a nice throw. Lasted a while on me so that gives it bonus points.

    Love-Lies-Bleeding

Imp: Berries and dirt. Yuck. Wet: Ooh chocolate cherry musk. Strong. Dry: Cherry tootsie-pop! I swear this is exactly what it smells like to me. Luckily I happen love that smell. I didn't get anything floral, it was all chocolate and fruity. This will go on my big bottle wishlist.

    Milk Moon 2007

A fertile scent, generous, life-affirming, and swelling with a sense of triumph, warmth, and abundance: sweet milk, golden honey, fig fruit, pomegranate, dates, and white grape. From the description of notes this sounded like it could be so yummy. But wow, seriously I could not take the smell of this. It honestly smelled like baby formula that had been setting out for a while. I'm a nanny so I am familiar with the smell. I really wish got some of the pineapple and creaminess others mentioned but I couldn't get away from the sour smell. In the vial it smelled like a floral milk, kind of odd but not incredibly unpleasant. On the skin it didn't blossom well, on me at least. This bottle is off to the swap pile once I get it going. Kind of sad it didn't work but ah well.

    Monster Bait: Bloody Mary

I bought this off ebay untested. Cherry is absolutely one of my favorite scents so I thought I had a pretty good shot with it and I was right! In vial: Cherry and... maple syrup? Not the best mix. Wet: Cherry cough syrup. After just being on for a couple of minutes I was worried I had over-estimated the effect of cherry on my skin. I was not feeling it at all. But give it 30 minutes to an hour and.... Dry: Oh so yummy! Sugary cherry pie with little bit of whipped cream on top. Oh yeah this is delicious. I am so glad I decided to give it some time. And it really has one of the best throws I've experienced with bpal so far. This like Jailbait is one of those really fun scents that I feel like I shouldn't like as much as I do because I'm supposed to try and be this sophisticated woman but I can't resist the allure of smelling so sweet and cute. This will get a lot of wear from me, I'm sad it's not GC because eventually it'll run out, I guess I'll keep my eye out on another bottle. It has invaded my top 10. 10/10

    Bon Vivant

This one was mostly champagne on me, kind of bitter but not too bad. I think I was just expecting a sweeter strawberry scent. It was nice, lasts a while but nothing really spectacular.

    Sachs

Ok I'll admit that I am a huge comic book fangirl and even though I had only heard about Sachs and Violens (the characters), I was definitely going to try these two regardless of the notes. And also there was no way my fiance was going to get out of trying Violens, but that's for the other review of course. So I impulsively bought the set. Reading the notes I thought this scent could go either way. On one hand bourbon vanilla: delicious! I cannot deny I love the boozy scents. On the other hand so far nothing with the words "smoky" has ever liked me.... til now! Wow, wow, wow I'm in love. This is sensual and soft and warm and all things smelly goodness. In Bottle/Wet: All chamomile with slight vanilla background. Quite lovely, I've always liked the smell of chamomile and it's very creamy in this scent. Dry: Mmmm... The absolutel perfect amount of both chamomile which comes out first and then the intoxicating boozy vanilla. Sexy and sweet at the same time. I didn't get any of the strong herbal scent some others mentioned. Honestly it reminds me more of Snow White (another favorite of mine) than Snake Oil but I can see the comparison to Snake Oil too. It is a lighter scent but that can be good sometims. This was a wonderful blend, I am so glad I took a chance on a bottle and when I get some extra money I think I'll purchase a back-up. I can see myself wearing this often, it's a really nice go-to scent for any occasion.

    PURPLE!

Both Eris and Megaera are all purple to me. Both scents I like very much as well.
  14. Blood Lotus has never failed to make me feel "oh so sexy" when wearing, there's just something intoxicating and heavy about it. Snake Oil also qualifies for that category but yet I've never considered it too much of a favorite even though I've gotten the most compliments when wearing, by men and women. I would like to own a big bottle one day though because it's definitely one of those "mood" scents where it would fit perfectly sometimes.

    Lady MacBeth

I've been wanting to try Lady MacBeth for a while. I always liked the character, even though I'm not a huge fan of the play. In the vial: Grape, yuck! Wet: Sweet berries. This is VERY fruity. Nothing like I thought it would be. It's light too, but it lasts pretty decently. I think this would make a great candle or lotion scent. I like it, I don't think I'd want a big bottle, but I'll keep the imp and use it. 6.5/10

    Bayou

A mix between Beltane and New Orleans. This is nice. Reminds me of aged, wet flowers. I don't think it's something that I'd use too often though. It's a bit too heavy for me. I like lighter florals. It is nice though. Earthy and deep. 6/10

    Smut

Oh wow! Oh wow, wow, wow! Smut is amazing! Oh-so-yummy! In bottle: Cough syrup and lollipops. MMMkay, should be interesting. Wet: A bit fruity, vanilla and musk. Drydown: This is the best part. The sweet musk stays, the vanilla gets warmer. And leaves an all around amazingly sweet and sexy scent. A little boozy yes, that too. I have to say though, I didn't get any of the Snake Oil comparisons. I love Snake Oil too but to me Smut didn't smell a thing like it. Must be my chemistry I guess? Ah well, I like it still anyway, or better yet love it! I'm so glad I had to have a bottle. I like teh smut! But of course I knew I would, I am that kind of girl after all. 9/10

    Dee

Ok at first I swore I smelled apple cider, no idea where that came from. Woods, soft dirt, dust and flowers. Actually I did like this one more than I thought I would. It's soft and masculine and in a way, yes pretty. I'd really like this on a man. It'd probably drive me crazy. But for me? Nah. A little too masculine.

    De Sade

From sniffing it in the vial, I was thinking maybe I would like the scent of leather on me. But nope. Not me. And it is all leather. I wouldn't mind smelling this on someone else but not on me.

    Dragon's Milk

I liked Dragon's Milk but I can't say that I like it for me. If I smelled this on someone else, I'd probably compliment them. It's extremly youthful. Me at age 12-13 would be all about Dragon's Milk. That's not to say that I think it's a little girl scent. It simply reminds me of those years of my life. And doesn't seem to fit me right now. If that makes sense. I agree with those that said cherry milk. That is exactly what is smells like the bottle. Yummy. It takes on a creamier tone on skin. It reminds me a lot of Johnson's Baby Lotion. There's nothing bad about this scent, it's just not something I think I could wear often. 5.5/10

    Forbidden Fruit

This was all floral on me. I got only a light whiff of fruit when still wet. I guess I was hoping for more a fruity scent. It's not bad but I wasn't crazy about it either. Not one of the better florals I've tried. And the drydown had a plastic scent to it. Just didn't work out for me. 4/10

    High John the Conqueror

This is a really boozy smell to me. And honestly I didn't get any grape like others have said, which is good because I hate grape. I like this one. It's not wonderful smelling but it's nice. It's rich and fruity, something that I like. I wouldn't mind a 5ml in the future. As for the voodoo, hmm... maybe? Every time I've worn this it has attracted a little more money my way (possibly coincidence) but then again one time I wore it, I got insulted by a 5 year old (not about the perfume oil), so apparently it didn't "enhance" his opinion of me too much. Although to be fair, it was more of a case of a kid being a kid and far too blunt rather than a mean-spirited intent. So I don't know. But just maybe.

    Juke Joint

In the vial, this smelled like a really nice and sharp mint. Very promising. But unfortunately Juke Joint is another one of those scents that go instant baby powder on me. Well can't say I didn't try. I just don't seem to have much luck with the boozy scents.

    Ouija

Quija has been on my wishlist for a while and I got a frimp of it from a forum purchase (thank you btw) to finally test out. I must say, it's quite nice. I'm not a big fan of roses or rose scents but Quija smells lovely. It's a beautiful floral, and I agree to the description of Victorian. It does seem very fitting to that era. It also has a nice throw which I can always appreciate. I wouldn't put it high on my big bottle wishlist but I wouldn't mind getting a bottle one day. 7/10

    Gluttony

Yuck. I have a lot of respect and love for Beth's work, and there are so many bpal scents that are to die for but this is not one of those for me. I'm sorry to say but Gluttony smells horrid in the vial. I was scared to try it on my skin. Thankfully it's not as strong on wet and dry as in the bottle. The wet note has a bit of urine undertone. And the drydown essentially smells like buttered-popcorn with caramel poured on top to me. Not my kind of foody scent. This just didn't at all work out for me. The drydown wasn't nearly as bad as what it smells like in the vial but still not something I'd go for. Perhaps as a candle (dry-down scent) but not as something I'd want to wear on me. 3.5/10
