  1. The rich scent of wild blackberry breezing over gentle rosy heather.

I love Bewitched and I love heather as well, so I was excited to try this. I love the scent of it, it is as others have described and definitley makes me feel a lightness and airy loveliness as being in a field... but it disappears very quickly on me, unfortunately.

I could try it in a spray and see if it lasts longer. Otherwise I will slather it while Ive got it.

  2. Ive been looking forward to this blend since it has opoponax in it and I once read that Angelica Houston loves opoponax and I guess that parallel enticed me.

It smells vaguely like orangy tea with a teensy bit of peppery-ness to it. It seems to mesh very well with my skin and stays close and lovely. I imagine that it is going to fade before too long but I really like this.

  3. I dont really have anything unique to add to previous reviews, but wanted to echo that initially this smelled very strongly of men's cologne and it has dried into something resiny, incensy, slightly powdery and full of spices (but not cinnamony spices). If this type of scent appeals to you, I doubt you will be disappointed by the Great Cry. It has a lot of strength to it, but at the same time in an almost subtle way.

  4. This is a complex soapy / powdery floral on me. Verrrrry strong.

I dont get any of that lovely vanilla musk I was hearing about.

It smells to be in the Chanel No. 5 category for me. I dont think its bad, and maybe I can appreciate it but Im not falling in love.

  5. This is what it is.

Very much smells like cake, scrummy white cake with a smidge of currants detected.

Creamy and lovely. I can imagine that this would be very well layered with many different scents.

  6. it is funny, to me, that i so love a scent that smells purely of spun sugar.

i first was interested for my sister, who loves sweet cotton candy girly scents and she dismissed it from a sniff of the imp saying "phew. cotton candy and vanilla. too vanilla."

and i even coveted a bottle and have since made a spray so i can bathe my aura in the sweet cloud of spun sugar.

  7. i have the same problem with what i presume to be rose and jasmine. its very sad. i felt like i was smelling a flowery dill pickle on my wrist. so weird. im sure this is lovely on many people, its just not me.

  8. This, too, is the resurrected Three Witches...

This truly is wonderful, so spicy, hot, and dry... I smell all three components in the blend which have balanced very well. Very redhots, but not ONLY very redhots.

I wonder how this would smell aged... but I dont think Ill personally keep it around long enough to find out. I have a personal aversion to redhots... but this IS wonderful. now thats not too contradictory, is it?

  9. stardust smells like its description. its a really wierd experience for me. it smells like the taste in my mouth times back in california when id be tipsy on booze & floaty on vic and getting ready to go out. getting hairspray and perfume in my mouth and the sharp bitter taste of pills. its so strange. i wouldnt wear this but the experience of it is so transporting i might keep the imp just to see if it keeps getting me memory-high.

  10. This is a six week old imp from the lab. I bought it for my boy, tried it on him once and decided it is not "him" or how I like to smell "him" ... I may give it one more go on him, but today it was all about me. I wanted the leather. I get the leather. I get leather, incense and Skin-So-Soft. I smell like I got in big trouble out in some woods on a hot summer day. Strangely enough, with that connotation, I want to keep smelling it because its heady and sexy. I also want some patchouli mixed in with it. And a spanking.

    :P

  11. Wet: Lime bursts out and behind it... incense?

Dry: What smells like incense but its obviously a mix of the florals. Smells like what Lucy's Kiss did but with a lighter (tuber) rose, and not as heavy.

Now all I need to do is decide if I like it. I like the idea of smelling of a muse enough, I think, to give it extra consideration, and it *is* lovely.

ETA: Now that the muses have been called out to play for the anniversary update, I think Ill find one of those that suits me better than this one. Its lovely but I really try to just keep the blends that *really* work on me. Not just "eh."

  12. ...to me this smelled like sticking your nose into a bag of pick and mix candy that has some bubblegum in it - the kind of bubblegum that has the powdered sugar on the outside. There's a vague cotton candy-ish element to it. But it isn't sickeningly sweet, or all that foody...

I completely agree. I tried this for the first time as soon as I got my order from the lab. It was syrupy sweet, too much so. Its been more than a month since then and I just tried it again. Its beautiful. Im suprised! I thought I would end up swapping this one for sure... Someone out there has an icon of a beautiful red-haired lady amongst floating pink bubbles for this scent. That is it. Thats the scent and that's the feeling. Gorgeous.

And I put it on following a fall out with someone and it COMPLETELY eased me. I wasnt expecting that, or thinking of the intention at all. I just realized that it had melted away...

  13. bliss smelled exactly as i expected: chocolate and almond/nuts.

its the first rush of scent that hits me from 13 and other bpal scents with chocolate in them.

bliss is no nonsense and i think it would be excellent not only on its own, but layered with many other scents as long as you dont mind the nutty-ness that goes along with the chocolate.

  14. i got this imp in a swap. this seems like the type of oil that would keep getting better with age so a fresh one from the lab may not have this richness.

i get a warm resiny, patchouli and very peppery smell. earthy and dirt-like, woody, perhaps cedary. and maybe a bit of musk. its very deep, dark and yet lovely and makes my mouth water a little bit.

a little bit goes a verrrrrry long way on this. one time, i put one teeny dot from the imp on my hand and several hours later my grandmother remarked how good i smelled and asked what it was i was wearing! :P

as far as what it "does" for me... i tend to dot some on the lower part of my back, where i feel its warmth energizing me. i like to dot a bit of it anywhere i want to feel my 'energy' surface. i havent used it in kundalini practice yet. perhaps when the weather gets colder.

so i like it for its rich scent and for what it does for me. highly recommend.

  15. i love this little mouse. hes tiny, adorable and sweet.

at first hes so crisp, like green apples and with just a little time hes jumped in a cup of tea and then hes running around on a table with teacups beyond teacups full of yummy tea and decorated with beautiful pink peonies.

i hafta slather this little darling on me... it either wafts away or i just think its so delish that i always want more. ive purchased a 5ml and hope my imp lasts till then. its wonderful enough that needing to slather it is not a deterrent and that i must investigate all scents containing tea. this will be good in any season but is especially good when you want something pleasant, slightly yummy and yet light.

  16. Received decanted imp from swaps.

The first time I tried this my boyfriend sniffed it and immediately said "no, no. that reminds me of something, i dont know what, but its not good." :P So I washed it off.

I tried it again today, just a dot from the imp wand on my hand. Its lovely, its truly lovely. Its the smell of ... picture yourself walking thru an old old musty shut-up Victorian house. Upstairs are bedrooms whose canopied beds have matresses which would heave dust into the air if you were to pat the edge. Light barely streams thru the old lace curtains. The decor is stopped in time from a hundred years ago and the mirrors are even faded. The tops of the dresser in this room has an old hand mirror, brush and atomizer covered in soot. What could be in the drawers? Open the top dresser up, it is full of old, dusky lace and rose sachets.

This is Love in the Asylum.

I bet this one will age well.
