    Ozymandias

Wet this was very powdery and dry - too powdery, really, it made me cough. But it dried down quite nicely and when the incense started coming through I liked it a lot better. It really did suit the description, reminding me of someplace lost and abandoned. Not bottle-worthy for me, it's not my favourite kind of scent, but I'll be hanging onto my imp of it.

    Harlequin and Columbine

In the imp I mostly got lemon peel with a hint of the other notes in the background. Once I put it in there was a very zesty blast of citrus from the lemon peel and mandarin, sharp and fresh. After a while the currants and spices started to come out, but still in the background to the lemon peel. It remained mostly the same as it faded and didn't continue to morph. My problem with this scent is that it barely lasted at all on me. My final verdict is that I like it and may well use it in the oil burner but probably not as a perfume.

    The Waltz of the Snowflakes

In the bottle this was a very strong pine, and it was mostly the same scent once I applied it. But after a few minutes it calmed down and let the vanilla through, I liked it much better than. After an hour or so the pine, fir and vanilla were balancing each other nicely - my mum liked it so much she asked to try it for herself and now wants some of her own! It didn't have much throw on me but it did last for hours and hours, finally fading to a soft, lovely vanilla. I'll probably be getting a bottle of this for my mum and a decant more for myself, it's not something I'd want to wear all the time but certainly now and then.

    Haunted

I'm not quite sure if it's the amber or the musk coming out more on me - so far most of what I'm getting from Haunted is heavy scented powder with a bit of lemon in the background. And...that's it, really, it's a very heavy scent on me. I do think it fits the description of being poignant and mournful, but while it's a lovely scent on its own it's not something I'm going to want to wear.

    Inferno

I tend to have sensitive skin so I was afraid this one would burn me, however I was lucky and didn't have any trouble with it. Inferno wasn't really what I expected from the description - I'm not very good at picking up notes from the bottle but on me it was an immediate blend of cinnamon, orange water and almond. None of the notes really overpowered the others, it's just a very spicy and extremely fragrant whole. A bit strong for me to wear too often but I think I'll be getting another imp of it at least because it's quite yummy and fades down beautifully.

    Eat Me

I love love love this scent. While I can't detect too many notes when it's still in the imp, as soon as I put some on my wrists it smelled just like vanilla raisin cake. It's got a really good throw on me too, I can't stop smelling it everywhere! The scent didn't change too much as it dried down - the vanilla came out a bit more, making the whole thing sweeter. It's also less cloying than some of the other food scents I've tried - overall this was an instant hit with me, wearing it is a great pick-me-up for my mood because it's so delicious. Definitely getting a bottle of this one.

    Hellcat

At first I got a very strong almondy scent from this one, but it faded almost right away. It's very dry and smells almost like incense on me - not quite what I was expecting from the description. The scent remained the same even after a few hours, a very fuzzy and warm sort of scent without any of the notes really coming through - it does slightly remind me of Gluttony without any of the sweetness and far too much spice in it. I was really hoping this would work better on me since I love so many of the notes in it, but I'm afraid it may end up on the swap pile.

    Dorian

I loved Dorian in the bottle but sadly as soon as I put it on the musk amped up like crazy, and not in a good way. I can smell the sweet vanilla underneath and it's lovely, but I'm not too sure I like this on me. The vanilla does seem to come into its own after a while and it's more enjoyable then, but I'm still going to need to try it out a couple more times before I make up my mind on this one. Editing after a few hours: Wow, the change in scent is amazing, the musk has completely faded into the background, keeping the scent warm with sugary vanilla strongly on top. I think I've changed my mind about this, it's a lovely scent and should be great for cold evenings. I just have to be sure to apply it a couple of hours before going out. Moderate throw but very long lasting.

    Gluttony

When I first got a whiff of this in its vial I was disappointed - it was too rich and too bloated to even distinguish the notes in it, and I was afraid I wasn't going to like it as much as I had expected. But when I tried it out on myself I loved it, it has a lovely thick and creamy scent to it when wet and dries down to a delicious caramel, toffee and buttercream. The tiniest drop also lasts for ages on me. I didn't pick up on any coffee or dark chocolate notes in it, but I love what I am getting from it. I'm really glad I managed to find some of this and I'll be looking for more soon, I'm sure.

    Gingerbread Poppet

2010 Gingerbread Poppet - this is my first BPAL review, so here goes: In the bottle - Amazingly delicious gingerbread, I can't really smell anything but the gingerbread itself in there. Wet - On my skin it's very much the same, just warmer somehow and a bit less buttery than in the bottle. Drydown - The spices are really coming out now, but it's hard to distinguish between them, they're too well blended, it's definitely not just cinnamon though. Still with delicious warm gingerbread underneath. I can't stop smelling my wrist, I really love this. After a while the gingerbread seems to amp up and cover up the spices again. I'm so glad I got half a bottle of this, it's a keeper for me and I see myself needing more of it at some point too.

Wine, Beer, Rum, Bourbon... the booze scents

Yeah, I've seen it when looking over the Nutcracker/Christmas Carol LEs (they all sound so amazing) and while I probably won't be able to get my hands on a bottle I'm hoping to get an imp of it at some point. Usually it's the sweeter notes that end up having most throw on me (seriously, I tried the Body Shops's new strawberry perfume hours ago and I can still smell it everywhere) but I've already got a few floral perfumes, and an imp or two of wine scents on the way (including Zadok Allen Vinyard which I've seen mentioned a few times on this post, I can't wait to try it) so I was hoping for something different, and rum seemed like a good note to try since I absolutely love it when using it in baking. So far I've just bought some imps here on the forum and on LJ to see what scents work on me so that I can look into getting bottles from the lab. I'm in Europe so the shipping is kind of expensive and I want to be sure of what I want before ordering.

Wine, Beer, Rum, Bourbon... the booze scents

Hmm, I'll probably be skipping it in that case, and try one of the others you suggested instead. Dance of the Mirlitons sounds particularly appealing since vanilla is another scent I love - although Pahoehoe is sounding really good too. (I can see my wanted list expanding right before my eyes...) Thanks so much for the recommendations!

What do you guys think of Port Royal in terms of it being a booze scent? I'm interested in trying it but am not completely sold yet.
