  1. Oh yes definitely a dirty monkey. I get cumin, patchouli, saffron and myrrh. Animalistic and slightly gritty. Sticks around for a long time.

I wish it was just a bit sweeter but it’s perfect for it’s name. I agree with imaginepageant that it has the same feel as Banshee Beat.

  2. Well this smells antique as in polished antique wooden dresser. It softens up after a while but the polish is still around. I'm really wishing I didn't own a furniture polish that smells just like this. The soft wood notes in Antique remind me of Whose List to Hunt.

  3. Slender arrows lodged in my heart: red amber, benzoin, red musk, bourbon geranium, oak bark, Atlas cedar, and 13-year aged Sumatran patchouli.

In the vial: Red musk, herbs and menthol. Yikes.
On my skin wet: Eep still mentholly red musk but with patchouli. Not really an improvement.
On my skin dry: Listerine and red musk. The geranium is trying to get through.

I should have known that the oak was going to do the mouthwash impression it always does on me. sleep.gif

  4. Just freaking vile. Truly truly hate leather, wtf did I order this??? Leather, leather and more leather. I do not want to bathe in fine furniture. Bleech.

will be looking for lupers to soothe my shredded nerves...

You got all of the leather, I got all of the rose.

I managed to trade for a tester of this. This is soft rose and honey musk on my skin if there is leather in this it's very faint. This smells polished, smooth and slightly old-fashioned.

  5. Found a new one!!!

Bottle art notwithstanding, I think L'Inverno is the ultimate representation of the crone in scent form. When I put it on, I can feel my power shifting to something wiser and more independent. Sooooooo awesome. As someone else mentioned here, it is an incensey floral, so maybe that is why I am getting the association. But <guh> LOVE.

    Tzi

I may just have to try that one. :D

  6. Nepalese amber, East African patchouli, dark musk, apple blossom, petitgrain, aged leather, skin musk, and rhubarb.

In the imp: Eau de Cologne and by that I mean the “Water of Cologne” which is made up of almost all citrus notes.
On my skin: Still Eau de Cologne, high pitched and greenish. Where is the patch? Hmm the petitgrain warms the blend a bit when it dries.
On my skin dry: Still no patchouli or leather in sight, it's pretty much petitgrain and a bit of amber on my skin. A nice scent for warm days.

  7. Testing an aged imp of Phantom. Myrrh, soft rose and ylang ylang. Very pretty and comfy, slightly powdery dry-down. Aging definitely helps the blend come together, I might get a bottle but I don't know if I can wait until it ages into this gorgeousness.

  8. I'm not sure if it's been asked before but is there a BPAL that smells like Lust from Lush? My friend really loves that scent so I'd like to get her the Bpal version of it ^_^

Yes, Ceanothus Silkmoth smells just like Lust/Flying Fox. :D Notes are: Blood orange, night-blooming jasmine, vanilla bean, bog wood, Spanish moss, benzoin, and oudh.

Iole is close too btw, notes are: fig, night-blooming jasmine, red sandalwood, bourbon vanilla, oak bark, leather accord, and black amber.

    *edit* added notes

  9. This smells...dangerous.

On my skin wet: Smells sharp, woodsy and a bit of leather. I don't really get rosin out of this, it's woodsy but it's also very perfumey.

On my skin dry: The sharpness has toned down but it stays pretty much the same. It settles on an unisex perfumey almost-leather. Lots of throw.

  10. Wow, tobacco flower is the first thing that I smell. Light and perfumey, it reminds me of Black Lace but also of the Lady on the Grey which was all tobacco flower on my skin.

After a while I get a powdery sweet sandalwood note. When it's fully dry the powdery woods take over the scent.

I like how this morphs from sharp smoky tobacco flower to warm sweet woods but it fades quickly on my skin.

I looked up castoreum turns out it's obtained from a gland from the business end of a beaver. *eyetwitch*

  11. This is one of those scents where there isn't a note too much or too little.

The musk is soft and a bit powdery, the tobacco has just the right amount of smokiness, the lilac and rosemary give the blend sophistication and the lime rind lifts it all up. Ingenious! :wub2:

  12. On my skin wet: Freshly dug up beets! Get your fresh beets here! Wait it morphed into mildew.

Drying: There is a very faint something underneath the dirt. I can't make out if it's a floral or a cologne the dirt is overpowering everything else.

Dry: Still dirt. Just dirt and nothing else.

  13. Whoa bergamot & aftershave? Very nice! Must be the nutmeg and artemisia combo that is making this blend smell masculine. This one definitely takes you on an olfactory ride, it's slightly bitter but aromatic.

When it dries down the bergamot amps and it gets seriously sexy.

Fully dry it's cologne with heady bergamot and some dustiness from the artemisia.

  14. Ooh very pretty in the vial! On my skin I get petitgrain (which smells a bit like bergamot to me), moss, a bit of birch and soft black musk. This feels old-timey in a good way. :wub2:

I do think this is a unisex scent. Two-Headed Goat doesn't stick around all day but I like it a lot! Might pick up a bottle if this returns when the Carnaval Diabolique comes back.

  15. I was lucky enough to swap for a decant of the Lady. :joy:

On my skin wet: Tobacco flower! This is a bit more aquatic than I had anticipated.

On my skin dry: Faint tobacco flower, overall it's a very airy scent almost like there is ozone in here. I'm not smelling much of the other notes at all. :huh?:

Unfortunately this ends up rather faint on my skin.

  16. If this was a painting I would call it: Crazy cat lady using baby powder avec incontinent kitty.

It starts out rather innocent with cute powdery musk. Could be black musk or maybe civet but I have to idea what civet smells like. On dry down there's a hint of feline incontinence that just refuses to go away. It stays like that on my skin; fluffy cyoot kitten who has just done something nasty on your carpet.

For the true connoisseur I'd say it smells more like cat pee than poo but who am I to blow against the wind.

I would have liked it if it weren't for the pee. :ack:
