    Yaksh

On my skin wet: A sweet blue floral, foggy and cozy. I like the foggy scents. On my skin dry: Moss is creeping up, it tends to amp on my skin I hope it behaves. It does behave thankfully, it's now a slightly fruity sweet bluish floral. Very evocative. I get a lot of throw out of Yaksh the sweetness of it was unexpected but it does balance out the moss. The art already appealed to me, that big blue marshmallowy planet looking almost edible. So far I like the scent too I'll do an all day test of Yaksh.

What do bottles and labels look like?

The bottle I ordered from the lab just prior to it coming down has the regular SN label. Hmm, I ordered it right when it debuted. Weird!! Nope the decantress has enhanced the label herself.

    [Redacted] Dragon

I get Stinky the Dragon too especially in the imp. I think the vetiver isn't very aged and is rampaging across the other notes with it's buddy raw ginger. Saturnalia also comes to mind. It does even out a bit on my skin. Dries down to a dusty green spicy scent.

    Uncle Brian

Iiinteresting. On my skin wet: Uncle Brian smells like licorice allsorts apparently. Very yummy. On my skin dry: The orangesicle is the top note now, the merlot, cotton candy and raspberry are in the middle, I can only detect the lime around the edges. I had expected it to be one heck of a morpher because of the merlot but it stays yummy. Nice lot of throw. A must for candy lovers!

    Humpback Whale

On my skin wet: Soft mint and water. The tobacco comes through after a while the ambergris is last to turn up. Nice and subtle. On my skin dry: This isn't really a morpher it stays a soft and sweet aquatic mint.

    Arana

Yep I recognize this note from Tree of Life and the Antikythera Mechanism. On my skin wet: Softly polished wood, vanilla and just like in Silver-Haired Bat the benzoin smells a bit like cotton-candy. On my skin dry: I'm glad that the oak bark is behaving. It does give the blend a bit of a liquorice smell but it's way in the background. This doesn't morph a lot, the vanillic scent goes a bit powdery but overall it's a smooth cuddly blend. Like Missy-killer the Antikythera Mechanism was too harsh-smelling for me but this maybe a good stand in.

    Mopsfledermaus

Spicy! Also apparently indonesian musk = red musk. It overpowers the other notes when the blend is wet but when it's dry I get cinnamon, ginger, clove and musk. It's a straightforward blend with lots of throw. I dislike red musk with a passion so I'm glad I got a decant.

    Greater Horseshoe Bat

I really like this! The first time I sniffed the decant I was like eww herbs but it changes a lot on my skin. On my skin wet: Starts out rather herbal with a bit of menthol. Weird, I can't make out what herbs but if I didn't have a description I would say herbal lavender. On my skin dry: Still a bit lavender-like, must be the rosewood? I can smell a bit of the beeswax but not too much, I'm thankful for that as I don't like smelling like a candle. It's a complex scent and hard to describe I get as far as: slightly woodsy resinous purple/brownish, it's a bit sweet and a bit spicy. That might or might not help you. I like how it hints of lavender without actually being lavender. Might go for a bottle (if I can find one).

    Rapunzel in Ballpoint

Appleappleapple. Green apple. Dries down to extremely green apple, rather sharp green apple.
  12. Monday

    The Cat

Starts out nice with some sweetness from the benzoin plus honey with dark cedar. Slinky and clever. But it goes into bad breath territory after an hour , very pungent and difficult to scrub off. Darn why can't honey behave on my skin for once!

    Miss Forcible

Reminds me a lot of Bread-and-Butterfly but there is also a heavy alcoholic note here. Miss Forcible has been drinking lots of sherry apparently. The slightly-burnt gingerbread scent lightens after a while and the 'vintage musk' comes out. The booze note is still there though much like when you spritz an alcohol-based perfume. Not for me this one. Maybe it'll age into awesomeness but so far it smells rather sharp and unpleasantly fermented.

    Ambergris

Fresh laundry by the seaside, this scent feels like a holiday. I don't get musk just a pleasant, slightly sweet, balmy laundry scent, it hints of the sea without soaking you in brine. The only drawback is that it's really faint.

    Wulric, the Wolfman (2006)

Woah vanilla! I'm definitely getting the birch tar but also a hint of cocoa, a heap of vanilla and some lavender. Starts out foody and outdoorsy and ends up with loads of vanilla and lavender with an added bite of the sage. I like the initial clash of sweet vanilla with the sharp birch tar and lavender, the drydown is nice and snuggly. Once dry it also reminds me a lot of the Anti-Saloon League. I find it well blended and not at all masculine. For me the cocoa could have been left out as the foody-ness kind of it clashes with the rest, thankfully it fades quickly (the cocoa, not the blend ). Wulric the Wolfman sticks around all day and has great throw.

    Tanin'iver

I had this bottle for about two years now time for a review. In the bottle: Sweet and syrupy cola. On my skin wet: Still cola but the cassia is layered on top of it. Patchouli and myrrh show up when the blend is drying down. On my skin dry: Cassia is the main note followed by sweet myrrh and pomegranate then comes the patchouli, blood musk and smoke. A warm and spicy invigorating blend overall. It does still bear a resemblance to cola but less so than when it's wet. Thankfully I never got a lot of dragon's blood out of this I guess aging has polished this blend. Tanin'iver is sweet and spicy and rather delicious. Unfortunately I don't wear it a lot this bottle might be better off with someone who does.
  17. Really? Now I'm getting really excited about the bottle of Ambergris that's on its way to me, I've been looking for something that resembles Big. And The Olive Branch...and Jungle.

What do bottles and labels look like?

Some of the single notes. From left to right: Haitian Vetiver, Eight Petaled Lotus, Evening Stock, King Mandarin, India Ink, French Tobacco, Hungarian Caraway. The label seems to have changed from the large brimstone symbol to a smaller one (French Tobacco & Hungarian Caraway). Ye olde cobalt bottles. Poor leaky Havisham.

    Hungarian Caraway

Yep that's caraway. Starts out a bit pungent just like the seeds when they are fresh, then goes on nice and woodsy. There are some similarities between this and India Ink SN, they both smell black/brownish, only where India Ink smells cold this smells warm. That rye bread smell comes up after a while making me hungry. Aromatic, resinous and woodsy I wonder how this is going to age.

Feed Me and Fill Me With Pleasure

On my skin wet: A metallic patchouli with a hint of honey. Cologney and heady. On my skin dry: The sweet metallic note has amped (it smells bloody actually ) and the patchouli is doing it's usual cologney thing. The vanilla amber is present and it's nice but that bloody scent of the patchouli smells ...wrong. No, just no. I'd love to see that vanilla amber combined with something else though.

    The Convocation

In the imp: The Gentleman, this smells just like the Gentleman. On my skin: It's the Gentleman plus Severin. I get thyme, tea, leather, something woodsy and musk. Not too much cologne and no civet in sight. It's actually very nice I can't think why this isn't more popular. If you've missed out on Severin this is the scent to go to.

The Raptures and Roses of Vice

Turkish delight was the first thing that popped in my head when I smelled this. It's sugary rose and coconut right off the bat. The musk that shows up after a while takes this blend out of foody territory and adds a nice woodsy layer, it's still on the edge of being foody though. I'll have to do an all-day test of this but I suspect The Raptures and Roses of Vice is too heady and sweet for me.
  23. Monday

    Night Thoughts

Crushed stems and lilac, this is rather green when it's wet. It stays that way, cool and green with a backdrop of florals. Not a lot of throw but it's a lovely and restful scent.
  24. Monday

    Corinna

Very sweet and pink. I get almost all pinkish mimosa out of this when the oil is wet, there is some jasmine but it's very faint. The jasmine amps considerably when it dries down but it stays a girly pink scent. Nice but not for me.

Unveil The Grace In Thine Eyes

On my skin wet: The same sunlit musk as in Bub and velvety orris. Nice. On my skin dry: Very soft and cloudy if I hadn't known better I'd think there was white musk in this. It's a pillowy purple scent. It does fade quickly on my wrists but sticks around a bit longer when I applied it in the hollow in between my collarbones.
