    Go to Sleep, Darlings

Kiss-soft clouds of spun-sugar snow. It is Snow White but Snow White light if that makes sense. I always get play doh from Snow White no matter how aged and this one is doing the exact same thing only it adds a bit of mint at the end. Not for me.

    Whispers of Monstrous Things

This starts out smelling like woodsy cucumber. Or old dank shed. Or indeed moldy old book with tentacles creeping from inside. It gets better though. On my skin it turns into the best sweet, spicy sandalwood ever. (For the people who are familiar with it it smells a bit like Purol.) Very evocative and fitting. This is totally unique and I like how it turns out. Don't let the cucumber at the start stop you from trying this one.

    Shrunken Heads

Many thanks to the lovely Skygal for the tester! Greenery, leather and snuffed candle. The snuffed candle takes over but the leather and greenery are still discernible in the background. This isn't really a morpher. Old smoky leather surrounded by green, with a name like Shrunken Heads it's rather unsettling.

    Nevar

On my skin wet: Prettyprettypretty! Pretty violets and japanese incense in the background. Not getting a lot of plum. On my skin dry: Very lifelike violet incense. To me it smells oriental and mysterious. I like it, it's so close to the perfect violet scent but it's not quite there. I ended up with two bottles of this but I think I'll only need one.

    Noctiphobia

Skin musk, lavender, the mint in here is very soft. There is something woodsy in here too. I see how pple would get cologne from this it is a bit unisex but no more than say the Coil. Skin musk can go a bit sour but it's holding up well. Very soft and evocative.

    Elegy No. 1 S. 196

On my skin wet: All these notes combined do a great impression of a super-sharp grapefruit. *cough* It is rather sharp at this stage. On my skin dry: Ooh the sandalwood is very strong and is starting to go towards celery territory, the bergamot is melding nicely with the celery sandalwood. Lots of throw but it's giving me a headache.

    Hope and Fear Set Free

On my skin wet: Frankincense isn't my friend I had hoped the vanilla would save the blend. It doesn't so far. On my skin dry: There is a bit of vanilla! Frankincense and vanilla.

    Funerailles

On my skin wet: Starts out so strange! It's the ebony that's smelling of tomatoes I know. Oh well: sweet pulpy wood and a lot of green tea. Drying down: Still lots of green tea I wish the orchid would show up. The tea is rather sharp and dry. On my skin dry: This isn't a morpher it's still a sweet pulpy wood and green tea when it's dry. I amp tea hugely so ymmv.

    Callidora

On my skin wet: Damp masculine musk with a bit of cocoa. It's making me a bit queasy, sweet cocoa and masculine dampness... On my skin dry: The musk, tobacco and patchouli are really doing their best to not make this a feminine scent. That damp note is really persistent there isn't a wet stone note in here but that's exactly what it smells like on my skin. With added cocoa. No...just no.

    Und wir Dachten der Toten

On my skin wet: Sweet and light with a hint of cake. A fruity floral pops up after a while, no trace of the patchouli yet. Ah wait there is the patchouli you have to look for it but it's there. The top note is an almost orange vanilla. On my skin dry: Noooo the vanilla has gone to plastic. The rest of the scent is very nice the patch has come forward but that frigging plastic... Light throw.

    La Lugubre Gondola

Dark reddish-brown oil in the vial. You'd think that an oil this dark-colored it's going to have a huge throw but unfortunately it's the opposite on my skin. Wet: barely there amber. Drying down: There's the oudh. It's taking a looong time to dry down. Dry:The scent hasn't changed much. Cola-ish amber with a bit of oudh. I get very little throw.

    Grand Guignol: Thanatos

Many thanks to the awesome Mellifluous for the tester! On my skin wet: This is a strange mix of notes when wet. I get the sugar cane some myrrh and beeswax. There is sweetness, tartness and some smoke. Something scorched is coming through when it's drying down I fear it might be the sugar cane. On my skin dry: Burnt sugar, bitter and sweet with churchy frankincense. Not a blend for me but I'm glad I got to try it!

    Chellah v4

Dirt and a greenish peppery scent. The peppery bit is very interesting it's like a green clove trodden into the dirt. It morphs into a softer scent, there is some moss there besides the spice and the dirt. The moss is going a bit sour like it usually does on my skin. It ends up as a powdery dirt, moss and spice scent. I'm glad I got to try this but I won't need a bottle.

    Y'ha-nthlei

I definitely get the foamy ambergris with a hint of cucumber freshness to it. Are there any other notes I should be getting? Bergamot? Not present unfortunately. I am getting a bit of the eucalyptus when it dries down. It's mostly fresh, clean ambergris with a hint of eucalyptus. It's nice but not something I'd want a bottle of.

    The Buggre Alle This Bible

Thanks a lot to the kind forumite who frimped me this! Soft comfy tobacco, paper and a bit of dust. Very nice so far it reminds me of the Dogs Playing Poker series. The incense shows up when its drying down and makes the blend go a bit sharp but it manages to stay sweet and comfy. This ends up smelling almost of coconut but a parchment-y leather coconut. I like it plus I love Good Omens.

    When recommending BPAL to newbies...

On the subject of abbreviations: click! Unfortunately some notes and combination of notes are only found in limited editions. Most limited editions aren't that difficult to find and I always say if something is hard to find.

    Pumpkin Ice Cream Bath Oil

The lovely Skygal frimped me a tester of this. Vanilla ice cream! It actually smells a bit cold. The pumpkin translates to spices and baked goods on my skin. When it dries the vanilla of the ice cream fades and the baked goods take over.

    Time's Infliction of Eternity

This is the softest dragons blood Bpal that I have smelled so far. On my skin wet: Soft cushy dragons blood mingling with red musk and a hint of lemony tea. I also get a honeyed scent from it. The tea takes over for a while when its drying down. On my skin dry: Honeyed tea with the softest red musk ever, the dragons blood lends a floral touch to it. Warm and red with lots of throw. It reminds me most of Eldritch Dark bath oil which also has that smooth red musk and slight floral feel. I like it but I'm not sure if I need more than my decant so far.

I can read Priala the Human Phoenix on there.

    What Scent Is This?

Benevolent Triple Conjunction? It's the only one I can think of that has 'triple' in its name.

    Fairy Market

I disliked this at first sniff, Fairy Market smells like a heady department store perfume to me (Roma or something quite like it). Needless to say I don't get the otherworldly fae mist connection. I hope someone else will like this more.

    So Below

The green cardamom reminds me of the tamarind in Forever is Mercy Built which also has the amber thus, in my scent-memory, they smell rather alike. On my skin wet: Masculine musk with a sour green note. There is a tiny bit of coconut in the background but not enough to sweeten the blend. On my skin dry: Yep there's Forever is Mercy Built again, there was a note in there which went to plastic smoke So Below does the same on my skin. The musk and amber do combine very nicely in the background and the patch is the last note to come by. The coconut has disappeared. I wish I got the creaminess that others are getting but I get a heady masculine blend with added burnt plastic.

    The Velvets

This is an aged imp of the Velvets. On my skin wet: Damp-smelling soft musk and some wood. The dampness is unexpected but not unpleasant. So far it reminds me a bit of Ozymandias. There is some spice amping and I'm getting the rose and amber, it's really dusty now. On my skin dry: It's pretty much all dusty rose when it's dry. The musk is far in the background. I don't get a lot of the notes listed, either they're very well blended or they've disappeared with aging. Hmm I'm probably not going get a full bottle of this.

    As Above

As Above is a lot like Haute Macabre. Smelling from the bottle there is hardly a difference at all just a sliiight hint of jasmine in As Above. On my skin it still smells the same but severely watered down. It vanishes completely after a few minutes.
