    What Scent Is This?

THE SECOND OF THE THREE SPIRITS The moment Scrooge’s hand was on the lock, a strange voice called him by his name, and bade him enter. He obeyed. It was his own room. There was no doubt about that. But it had undergone a surprising transformation. The walls and ceiling were so hung with living green, that it looked a perfect grove; from every part of which, bright gleaming berries glistened. The crisp leaves of holly, mistletoe, and ivy reflected back the light, as if so many little mirrors had been scattered there; and such a mighty blaze went roaring up the chimney, as that dull petrification of a hearth had never known in Scrooge’s time, or Marley’s, or for many and many a winter season gone. Heaped up on the floor, to form a kind of throne, were turkeys, geese, game, poultry, brawn, great joints of meat, sucking-pigs, long wreaths of sausages, mince-pies, plum-puddings, barrels of oysters, red-hot chestnuts, cherry-cheeked apples, juicy oranges, luscious pears, immense twelfth-cakes, and seething bowls of punch, that made the chamber dim with their delicious steam. In easy state upon this couch, there sat a jolly Giant, glorious to see; who bore a glowing torch, in shape not unlike Plenty’s horn, and held it up, high up, to shed its light on Scrooge, as he came peeping round the door. “Come in!” exclaimed the Ghost. “Come in! and know me better, man!” Scrooge entered timidly, and hung his head before this Spirit. He was not the dogged Scrooge he had been; and though the Spirit’s eyes were clear and kind, he did not like to meet them. “I am the Ghost of Christmas Present,” said the Spirit. “Look upon me!” Scrooge reverently did so. It was clothed in one simple green robe, or mantle, bordered with white fur. This garment hung so loosely on the figure, that its capacious breast was bare, as if disdaining to be warded or concealed by any artifice. Its feet, observable beneath the ample folds of the garment, were also bare; and on its head it wore no other covering than a holly wreath, set here and there with shining icicles. Its dark brown curls were long and free; free as its genial face, its sparkling eye, its open hand, its cheery voice, its unconstrained demeanour, and its joyful air. Girded round its middle was an antique scabbard; but no sword was in it, and the ancient sheath was eaten up with rust. Pine boughs, plum pudding, spiced pears, sugared chestnuts, punch floated with oranges, boughs of holly, and myrica berries. Fragrances with Dama de Noche?

There are some Bpal's that have Night-Blooming Jasmine listed as a note only none of those have apple listed as well. But your description immediately made me think about Hua Mulan. I wore it yesterday and on me it certainly smelled of sugar coated jasmine . It's a limited Edition from a while ago but it turns up in sales and swaps every now and then. Hua Mulan (LE) - Pink musk, white ginger, tea leaf, night blooming jasmine, bergamot, and leather. Other Night-Blooming Jasmine scents: Ave Maria Gratia Plena (GC) - Rosewood with Sicilian lemon peel, red Mysore sandalwood, pale musks, sweet mountain sage and a dusting of lily, night-blooming jasmine and orris. Helena (GC) - Rose amber, calla lily, night-blooming jasmine, water lily, and white rose.

Allergy Questions, Allergies and other reactions to oils

The paint on my table has had a reaction to Brisingamen . It turned out my imp leaked a bit on it and now the paint just peels off... Interesting use for perfume oils-> strip furniture with it.

    Sprinklecake

This starts out smelling like boozy chocolate cake with a hint of marzipan. It certainly smells rich. I'm not getting any vanilla or cream here. It morphs as it dries into a burnt cake and very boozy rum scent. Seriously I'm only getting a sharp rum scent when it's dry almost like a atomic luau scent. I'm not too fond of smelling like rum and would have liked Sprinklecake better if it had more vanilla.

    Halloween 2011 Must Haves!

Thanks guys. I haven't ordered any yet either (except for decants ), I'm super curious about the weenies!

    Eclipse

On wet: oh yes almonds, with a hint of cola? As it dries the heliotrope comes forward and the almond recedes. This sticks very close to the skin and is barely there after a couple of minutes. It ends up smelling a bit like the Lion on my skin, light fruity cinnamon amber. I would have liked this better if it stuck around longer.

    Searching for the Perfect Vanilla?

The Antikythera Mechanism has black vanilla: Teakwood, oak, black vanilla, and tobacco.

    Brood XIX

In the imp: grass, rice and pickles. On my skin: for a moment when it's drying this is a beautiful warm porridge-like scent with some spices lingering on the background. Then it goes wonky and ends up as a nauseating mix of cookie and sour milk.

    Schwarzer Mond

I got a decant of the 2006 version (frimped by the amazing Chaoskitty!) and the 2011 one (bottle). The 2006 is -obviously- more aged and smells of fresh pine resin when I put it on, it then deepens into a cola-like dark resin and incense scent and has tons of throw. Strangely enough I like to put it on before I go to bed. I've been treasuring this little decant. The 2011 version is reminiscent of the 2006 one, although it's more raw and has a prominent peppery note. I'm so glad I got this one, although it's amazing already it will be even more so aged!

    Different smells/colors, same perfume

I was frimped an imp of Aremata Popoa and fell in love with the fizzy blackberry booze. Then I ordered two bottles (right before they were discontinued this year) and they are completely different, way stronger on the rum almost buttery-caramel-like . It sounds like it's the other way around- your imp is probably older. Ugggggghhh, that's exactly the difference, too! You think it'll improve with age or am I probably just out of luck? I have no idea, I too really hope that the bottles ages into that lovely blackberry like in the imp. So far I have just sampled the bottle again and it isn't very similar yet. Maybe it will take a little more time...

    Penny Dreadful

This starts out very sour like pickles and dill. When it warms up and dries I get a strong dirt scent with something floral and sweet, plum blossom? Later on it morphs into a spicy warm scent, cinnamon and ginger and a kind of candy-like cherry scent. The dirt is still underneath it but is fading quickly to be replaced by sandalwood. This is a very strong and mature scent, I think the spices and the dirt note go together very well. The hint of sweetness makes this very wearable. I didn't think I'd like Penny Dreadful but it turns out very nice on my skin.

    Iris and Orris scents

Dance of Death GC has a great combination of iris/orris and black musk: A gloriously elegant representation of Lady Death. Dry, bone-white orris, black musk, serpentine patchouli and our murkiest myrrh. It's one of my favorite orris scents. Cytherea LE :White sandalwood, patchouli, white amber, orris, bourbon vanilla, champaca flower, and kush. Was pretty much all iris on me. Staged Moon Landing LE :Prop moon rocks: muguet, orris, white sandalwood, galbanum, cistus, and dusty vanilla. Is more mellow and has a more dusty feel to it.

Allergy Questions, Allergies and other reactions to oils

It doesn't have to be the cinnamon you are reacting to, Inferno also has bitter almond listed, bitter almond is known to cause reactions too!

    Chaotic

First impression: Badedas! Ick how can something with these notes smell like that? Something floral and manly musk. This stays Badedas on dry-down and has amazing throw. Not for me.

Ooooh pretty! I'll get out my butterfly net too.

^This! Only I'm impatiently waiting for them .

    Megaera

In the bottle: Orris! Lovely orris. On my skin it evens out into a fruity/ perfumey scent. The orris is still there but the plum and grapefruit make it fruity somehow. It has a lot of throw. It reminds me a bit of some scented erasers I had when I was a kid. I'm on the fence about this one.

    Twenty-One

Whee boozy juniper, almost piney. It's a tart and fresh alcoholic scent which stays pretty much the same when dry. I quite like it but I'm not sure if it's unique enough to keep.
  23. Monday

    Black Opal

Heady vanilla+Coconut= instant headache. This is a very generic scent, I get why people like it but I had hoped it would be more unique.
  24. All my questions to the lab got fast answers, but there's only one way of finding out .

    International Shipping Info+Questions

I had someone send me jelly beans in flat rate envelopes . At least those fit in my mailbox, the boxes the lab sends don't and every time I order something it has to be delivered by a parcel service. It might be okay with a lot of tape and bubble wrap but I prefer bubble mailers.
