I just managed to snag a bottle of this! Spicy, a bit of cinnamon, a bit of clove, a bit of wood, and something...sweet? Powdery? I'm not sure yet. I like this one - but a little goes a very long way! What I wasn't expecting was how I felt soon after I put this on - my sinuses cleared up, my senses felt clearer, I wanted to smile for no real reason, I felt relaxed, and my skin just felt alive. SO great after a very rough 2 weeks. I love it when I react to blends like that, it's always such a fun surprise!

I bought this, hoping it would be a great cinnamon scent. And in the bottle it's divine! However on me, the cinnamon goes away almost entirely, and it turned very powdery, which is not a scent I particularly enjoy. I can see how other people would enjoy it, but it's not for me.

To me, this smells almost exactly like Anne Beany, but a bit more of that tobacco note when dry. Something in it is also making my skin itch for some reason, I've never encountered that before in a bpal scent! It *is* yummy, but I like my Beany a bit better

Finally got around to ordering this one! At first, I get jasmine. No, rose. No, jasmine. They keep fighting eachother, I swear! It's a bit strong, and threatens to go 'dirty diaper' on me at times. A few hours in, it's AMAZING. I adore this scent. I still get a bit of jasmine, but I also get something sweet, all I can think is 'jasmine and cookies'. I'm not sure what the sweet note is, I can't really pick it out. Maybe the ginger I keep seeing mentioned. A slight touch of lemon. But really, jasmine and cookies! It fades on me a bit after a few hours, but I keep getting whifs of it as I move around, and it's just gorgeous. As for what it does, I've had more people come up and just hang out and talk here at work today, which makes me laugh. So the 'attracting' part seems to work quite well! As for the financial, I'm sure time will tell This'll be a big bottle order for me once the imp is done!

This one is an odd one, but in a good way. I've played with it every day since I got it (this past Saturday, so 3 days now), and it's a bit different every single time. I get a whole LOT of rose every time, which isn't one of my favorites, but I've been putting up with it. For the first 2 days, it stayed very flowery, with a bit of something sweet to it. Somewhat different both days, but along the same lines. Today, I'm getting the lemon that people seem to be picking up, along w/the rose still, and I actually really like it. Which is good, because I get some mega throw on this. As for what it does...I have to say that as son as I put it on, it's like INSTANT happy! At first I thought maybe it was just me really hoping it would do that, but today I was in a hellish mood, grumpy as all get out, annoyed that my fiance was making me leave the house and be social because I really just wanted to stay home and be lazy. I opened up my bpal drawer, thought 'why not?', and dabbed a bit on again today. Mood = instantly better, as soon as it touched my skin. And not just 'okay I can handle this today now', but more 'let's DO this! Wheeeeeee!!!' This'll be one I'll be using only when I need it I think (I'm always afraid I'll come to rely on these things, or 'wear them out' I guess), but I'm so glad I got a bottle (004, for anyone curious )!!!

Just received this today! This is...delicious. Thick and warm and delicious. I have also discovered I must amp honey, because the honey is REALLY strong on me. I get whiffs of cinnamon and wine and the slightest bit of vanilla at times, but mostly...it's the honey. I'm not sure this is a 'wear a lot' scent, but it certainly is a special occasion scent!

I'm not sure about this one. I ADORE lemon, but I think the sugar comes out much more strongly on me! In the bottle it's fantastic. Smells like one of those candy gummy lemon wedges. On me...the lemon first turns fairly sour, and then the sugar comes out. REALLY comes out. I feel like I smell more like a Strawberry Shortcake doll than anything. I like it, but I'm not sure I love it.

I like this. I'm not a huge fan of Snake Oil alone - I like the scent in very small doses, but I feel amazing every time I try to wear it. I see people comparing this to O as well, and I HATE O. I get the 'sour vomit' with that one as well. But this I really like. I can smell the Snake Oil in this, but the honey seems to balance it out really nicely, and each seems to take turns coming up to the front. It's AMAZINGLY strong though, just a dab on the back of my hand when I tested it was almost too much. Very overwhelming on me! I do like this one a whole lot, but unless it calms down a bit this will be a special occasion one only.

I LOVE this, more and more every time I put it on. What it's used for is something I need to work on anyway - being more flexible! As I'm also really working to get back into creating art, I thought it might be good one to wear for that as well. When I wear it, I feel more...awake? It's hard to explain. I feel relaxed and calm, yet excited and aware all at the same time. It sort of makes my brain tingle a bit, if that makes sense. It's hard for me to not wear this every single day! The smell is lovely. In the imp I admit I didn't like it at all, but dabbed a bit on the back of my hand. Almost instantly it morphed into something with a bit of apple, a bit of cinnamon, and a whole lot of herbal goodness, and I LOVED it. It smells a bit of potpourri to me, and something in it also makes me think of olive oil. Very happy I tried this one, and I think I will end up getting a bottle of this once my imp runs out.

I'm looking forward to trying Mother Ginger, I have Shub and this years Gingerbread Poppet already. I adore both, but Shub tends to get somewhat metallic on me after a while, and Gingerbread Poppet 2010 is pretty much my PERFECT scent, but does not last on me. At all. It's good for about 20 minutes, and then I can only smell it if I put my arm almost inside my nose.

2010 version. I got this in a decant circle, and I ADORE this scent. At first this is just sweet, sweet gingerbread on me, which is wonderful. Then it goes through the cinnamon phase - though to me it REALLY smells like those Atomic Fireball candies, and I LOVED those as a kid, so I was okay with that, too. Dried down, it smells like a combination of the Atomic Fireball and the sweet gingerbread - not really fighting each other, but lazily dancing and taking turns leading. Love it, love it, and WILL be buying a bottle!

This year, Lilith, our little Beans, is having a pirate-themed party, and the perfume created to commemorate her second birthday possesses a silly, playful scent - a toddler's nod to cartoon pirates. Rum cheesecake with a hardtack crust, topped with rum ice cream and a drizzle of butterscotch topping. Oh my. In the bottle this is amazing. Crusty, rum, butterscotch, cheesecake, I get it all! On me however...I'm not sure. It's ridiculously strong - even just a drop seems to be too much on me. At first I still get the same scent in the bottle, but then it changes. First it goes through a short phase where it's AWFUL, and I can't figure out why. Then it's very maple syrupy to me - it reminds me of One Barrel Rum (my favorite!!), but then there's also a bit of...musty? Like an old wood chest with old clothes or something. I think I would love this if I could just figure out how to tone it down a bit. I put it on my wrist as usual, but maybe I need to put it somewhere else? This may become more of an atmosphere scent than an 'on me' scent.

I agree on the mint note, that helps me quite a bit when I need it, too. I also really like Aunt Caroline's Joy Mojo - it's very much a 'candy' smell, and one of the 'Voodoo' blends (I know some people won't use those blends for that reason). It's not an every day scent for me, but I do use it when I'm having a particularly bad day, and it's worked every single time!

This is just amazing. Dark gingerbread indeed!! Everything about it is wonderful. It turns a bit more woodsy on me as it dries down, but still just wonderful. Apparently has quite a bit of throw to it, one lady walking by said it smelled like Christmas near my cube and that it made her happy, and another coworker all of a sudden said it smelled like pie when I put some on and really liked it. This has quickly become a favorite!!

This one is so interesting on me. In the bottle it smells... Green? Not sure, but it just smells nice. Once on, oh my is it strong!! Glad I only put a dab on. It turns floral as it dries. REALLY floral, I actually tried to wash it off. Not a bad floral, but incredibly strong. It didn't wash off very well, and after an hour or so...I love this. It's turned very aquatic, with a touch of floral-not perfumey floral...something more southern feeling. Not sure what it is. I am just in love with how aquatic it smells on me though! I don't know how often I want to go through the dry down, but the end result may be worth it. EDIT - Okay, after a month of wearing it, this has become one of my favorites. Once I realized how aquatic it was, the dry down didn't bother me anymore. I realized the floral must be jasmine, I was standing by a wall of it a few weeks ago, and a breeze came up and all of a sudden all I could smell was the same floral in Bayou...and tadah! Jasmine! I need to buy a bottle of this, as my imp fell out of my bag, and spent the weekend baking in my hot car in Florida. The baking must have done something to it, because it really didn't smell the same after that, and it wasn't a pleasant smell So a bottle is now a must!!!

This one is interesting to me. The smell is very bubble-gummy in the Imp, but when it's on, it smells a lot like candy dots - the kind that you peel off the paper. It reminds me so much of a candy store my mom used to take me to up in New England, though I honestly can't remember where it was, or what it was called. A little goes a LONG way with this one, and on me it's got some great staying power. I don't LOVE the scent, but I do like it a fair amount. The reason it's a keeper for me though is that it WORKS. It really puts me in a great mood as soon as I put it on. Now whether it's the actual ingredients or whether it's me willing it to work enough so it does - I don't know. But after after several times wearing it the last few weeks, and it working every time, it's a keeper for certain!

This one became an INSTANT favorite, I'll be getting a big bottle of this for certain once my imp runs out. In the bottle, it smelled like cinnamon and sugar. When I first put it on me, all I could think was 'it smells like cinnamon and happy!'. Which made me laugh, but that's what I thought! Now that I've had it on for a few hours, the cinnamon has faded quite a bit - but still there, and I'm now also getting a more...woodsy smell. I can't decide if it's pine, or cloves, or cedar, or a mix of all 3, but I just LOVE it. I will say *I'm* feeling somewhat...excited, but I'll have to wait until tonight to try it on the boy ;D I'll try to remember to update my review with whether it 'works' or not. But I really just love the scent so much I'll be buying a bottle for that alone! I can also see this as a great room scent, and plan on trying that soon! EDIT: Doesn't seem to have ANY effect on the boy whatsoever. NONE! I've worn this quite a bit since my review however, and still just adore the scent.

Also somewhat new to BPAL, though this was my third shipment of samples I REALLY wanted to like this one, after seeing so many great reviews. However...it's not quite my thing. It's a lovely scent, vanilla with some sort of unfamiliar spice to it, but it's just not quite me. It's VERY strong, so I am wondering if my issue is that I put on too much - a very little seems to go a very long way with this one. I can see myself keeping this one, but only to wear every now and then. I'll also be setting this aside to see how it ages - I see a lot of people saying that it ages very well! The surprising thing with this one is how I FEEL wearing it. I feel very confident, and sexy - and I'm not even dressed up! I wasn't expecting that as it's not one of the 'voodoo' blends, but it's a great effect!

EASILY my favorite so far. Every time I smell it, I get something a little different. Sometimes the wood, sometimes the leather, sometimes the ocean. I never seem to smell the Bay Rum though. The ocean scent comes out a bit more as it dries, and I love it. Has some GREAT staying power on me as well! It's great on me, but I could also imagine it smelling great on the boy as well. Will def. be buying a full size bottle of this when the imp runs out!
