  1. I was very disappointed with this. It has no smell at all in the bottle, and virtually none when applied. I use bath oils as a moisturizer, so I slather it directly on my skin, and I still smell nothing. If I put my nose right to my skin I get a faint hint of sweetness. I guess I'll use it as an unscented moisturizer! :blush2:

Mine is very faint too though not quite as much as yours sounds. The previous release wasn't very strong but was stronger than this and I bought two bottles based on that. Ah well, it's still very nice when I sniff deeply but I probably shouldn't have got two bottles.

  2. I adore this, even considering a back-up bottle which I *never* do. I'm pretty useless at reviews but for me the fig is most prominent then the cedar. It's a beautiful companion to the Fig & White Sandalwood hair gloss, which I've been dying for a perfume to match for years and now I have one :wub2:

  3. Polished mahogany and teakwood and swirls of cigar smoke, with deep patchouli, tonka, cardamom, Spanish moss, and bourbon vanilla.

I love this, it's wonderful deep, slightly sweet dark woods. I really like to spray it in my office but it works in any room. I bought a big bottle almost immediately after trying the goblin squirt. My husband loves it too and he usually doesn't have any particular opinion on my scent-related hobby :) I've also had comments from visitors to the house about "that lovely smell, sort of woody, what *is* it?!".

  4. This is beautiful, all warm, fuzzy and snuggly. It's very well-blended and I'm finding it hard to pick out specific notes. I will say though that it is not overly foody or coffee scented, which I was a bit worried about. It's gorgeous and I wish I'd gone for a full bottle rather than a decant.

  5. This is wonderful, why didn't I just order a bottle outright? I should have known it would work from the notes. Smoky, incensy red musk. It reminds me a bit of Halloween: Las Vegas without the cake, which is brilliant because I *almost* loved that blend but the cake was a tiny bit too much for me.

  6. This smells a lot like Womb Furie on me too just with lots of red musk added. Unfortunately I don't like Womb Furie so I'll have to age this a bit and see if the honey starts to behave itself. I adore red musk btw, I just really don't like honey.

EDIT: I think this bottle must have been super fresh when I received it because the honey has calmed down now and I'm getting lots of the lovely woods. Definite keeper, I'm glad I retested :D

  7. I love this :wub2: I'm very picky with my oils, I've tried lots of "nice" or "pleasant" ones but the only ones that I keep bottles of have to affect me on a much deeper level. This is one of them. It's coconut and incense on me, just gorgeous. Very summery though I don't find it to be particularly beachy, it's too dark and sexy for that. I don't find it at all sweet or foody.

  8. This is my favourite of the hair glosses, even above Snake Oil which really surprised me! It smells gorgeous though not so strong that you need to worry about it clashing with your perfume. It really helps my waves look nice too. Sometimes I put it on overnight and it's all soaked in by the morning so my hair obviously enjoys the extra oil!

  9. Same here, it was a nice scent in the bag, though I noticed a slight chemical scent, then hardly any scent in the water. I have a 3oz decant (half a jar) and put at least a third of it in the bath, so quite a large amount. It'll be interesting to see if I have the same problem with the others. It also left me slightly sparkly (a good thing) and slightly sticky (not a good thing).

  10. Starts out very strong lavender but within minutes this settles down on my skin to a lovely fruity/herbal musk that is somewhat reminiscent of Luna Negra. Very close to the skin, this might be nice for subtle days when I want to be able to sniff my wrists for a lovely calming scent or perhaps even night times. A bottle purchase for me anyway. I look forward to seeing how it ages.

  11. This smells exactly like Samhain on me and on my husband, I was starting to think I had a mislabelled decant but my friend has tried them and she says that they are subtly different on her. In previous years they've been massively different. Is that just an aging thing? Are they actually meant to smell very similar?

  12. I love this, it's very much in the same camp as oils like The Infernal Lover and Smut so if you like those you'll almost certainly enjoy this. It's very musky, red musk I'm sure, backed by deep dark berries. I usually find berry scents to be far too sweet (I'm looking at you Io!) but that's not the case here.

I'm so glad I managed to track down a bottle of this.

  13. This is very fruity on me, lots of juicy berries. It doesn't morph either, it stays very true. Staying power is pretty good though it's not a very strong scent. I like it anyway but I was hoping for more red musk. I'm tempted to buy a bottle anyway to see how it ages. Does anyone know if the red musk is likely to come out more with age? (Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask this  ).

  14. Hi all, I'm lost without Hackess' awesome spreadsheet! I followed the template she uses and made a spreadsheet of things released by the Lab since her last entry of Bony Moon. The link is below if anyone wants to add the entries to their copy of Hackess' spreadsheet. It looks a little weird since it's up there as a google doc, but if you cut and paste it into regular old Excel it goes into the correct format. Let me know if I forgot something or if it doesn't work! :)

    Brilliant, thank you!
