  1. CCNow shows "shipped" when the Lab has your order, but does it show anything else if the Lab has physically shipped it out? I ordered on October 2nd and haven't received a CnS, and it seems (from the CnS thread) that internationals from that date have gone out -- in fact, judging by the CnS thread the lab is caught up until October 11th.

What would be a reasonable amount of time before e-mailing the Lab to check on my order? Feels like it got skipped.

  2. I don't know if it's skin chemistry or what, but recently this one has started smelling extremely sharp to my nose. It causes almost a burning feeling at the back of my throat - it's intense, especially considering how light the overall throw is on me.

I'll give it a couple weeks in case it's my skin, but I might have fallen out of love with this one.

  3. This might just be my Holy Grail. THIS is what I've been looking for: the most absolutely perfect vanilla/leather/smoke perfume. Starts off with high florals, which are gorgeous while they're there and bring a certain creaminess to the blend until they fade away to something so sexy and androgynous. I think I need about ten more bottles.

Note: next to zero throw on me. This is a skin scent - something for which people need to earn the right to get close enough to sense.

  4. This isn't anything like what I thought it would smell like.

Wet: something herbal - i'm guessing thistle, frankincense and labdanum mixed together, but i can't pick out any one note - with a background of lavender. smells like a vegetable garden sitting next to a flower garden, planted next to a wood. not getting any pear.

Dry: basically the same, a tiny hint of pear has come out to play now and gardenia is wafting like crazy.

This is pleasant and interesting, but not a full bottle scent for me. Very glad to have an imp, though. It'll be nice to revisit this once spring rolls around.

  5. This is one of the few perfumes containing honey that I've tried that didn't instantly smell like urine.

This is in fact very pretty - I'm definitely getting pollen-dusted honey (it reminds me of the smell of dandelion pollen actually - very very pretty). Lots of chamomile, but it doesn't smell too herbal. Very light and girly.

It reminds me of running around in the summertime, grass-stained knees and daisy chains. Would make a gorgeous first perfume for a young girl.

Not terribly complicated or deep - just simply pretty, and it works nicely.

This isn't really my type of scent, but I really want a bottle to slather myself in when summertime comes.

  6. This is gorgeous. Not terribly complicated on me; just simple, warm, vanilla-tinged fig and goat's milk blend.

The goat's milk is beautiful, and not immediately recognizable as goat's milk. No sourness at all on me (thank goodness, since I was worried). Sensing a tiny bit of red apple, as well.

Just a lovely, comforting scent. I think I'm going to be wearing this a lot this fall.

  7. A woody, musky-weird base glooping over with blackberry preserves, a twist of mandarin, strawberry juice, pulverized watermelon, and a handful of smushed gardenia petals.

    Wow, this is definitely weird.

    Imp: Melon and butter (?!)

Wet: Those gardenia petals are definitely smushed. In fact, everything smells a little smushed together. The mandarin is very light, but definitely dancing on top of sprinkles of strawberry and watermelon jolly ranchers that have been mixed into butter.

Dry: It must be the blackberry preserves, cause my brain keeps telling me "melon jam on buttered biscuits" with a bit of sharp strawberry on top. This smells really foody on me. I'm not getting the musks or woods or spices everyone else seems to be getting (my nose is, admittedly, sort of off today though.)

30 minutes later: Citrus is at the forefront, with gardenia close behind. No longer foody.

THIS IS WEIRD. But I sort of love it. Definitely considering a full bottle, even though I have no idea when or where I would wear this except to smother myself in it at home and bathe in its strangeness.
