  1. Very green - I would guess grass or dandelion as one of the notes. Also a little of the BPAL dirt note and either lillies or orchid. I'm on the fence on this one - I think this is really pretty. It's a green aquatic scent that - at least to me! - doesn't go to cleaner.

  2. I feel like maybe this goes much stranger on my skin than anyone else's who has reviewed thus far. The first blast is that sort of musky spicy scent, but the dry down on my is tea. I smell that distinct lemony note that I associate with scents where tea is a major component. Pretty, but not for me.

  3. Antiwar [and] anti-everything-that's-smelly: sweet red patchouli and orris root with bourbon vanilla, caramelized labdanum, peru balsam, and almond milk.

This is tested straight out of the mailbox! The wet stage is all almond extract on me (which is usually how it is for me with anything that contains almond.) However, that fades quickly and I get mostly sweet resins. The patch is there, but it's not super strong. It's kind of a swirling, sweet, resiny scent - it's pretty reminiscent (to my nose) of Misfortune Teller v3, but with a patchouli base note. It's really nice - a winner!

  4. I'm really surprised that Miss Anna isn't getting more love. In the bottle there is something harsh and a little unpleasant smelling but as soon as it goes on the skin it morphs into a beautiful, soft scent. It has an almost vanilla quality to it from the cacao (I think perhaps white cacao?) and almond mixture. The predominant floral scent I get is that of cherry blossoms and wisteria. I can't really smell the violet at all. The sum total is a wispy floral backed by a warm vanilla-ish base. The drydown is a tiny bit powdery - I suspect that this is the violet making itself known. Still, this is a pretty scent.

  5. The Amalthea Gossamer Ring: flecks of pink ice haloed by rose-tinted amber.

For me, this scent is definitely in the "snow" category of BPAL scents. I don't get much Amber or Rose specifically - more of a rounded, adult smelling ice scent. I think the Amber is taking the edge off of the snow note because I don't get that ozone-y scent here.

Ugh, this is a terrible first post!

  6. I find this to be fruitier than I expected. The first whiff is all pomegranite and it remains pomegranite heavy as it dries. In the drydown, the pomegranite is backed by soft woods which are sadly a little pencil shaving-y on me, and the smells are not blending as I would like them to. On the fence - I have to let the settle and see if I like it better in a couple of weeks.

  7. The first wet blast is ALMOND, which I find is typical of all of the scents that contain this note. It almost immediately settles down into a very ... grown up smelling perfume. I get the wisps of the florals and definitely a slight woody edge from the cedar wood into a musky floral.

Alas, the final dry down is honey heavy, and the honey blends tend to smell slightly sour on my skin. Almost no wear length either. It's beautiful, so I might try it in a scent locket.

  8. This is ... odd. In the wet stage, there is a ton going on here, especially with the coconut and the lemongrass warring against each other. That is mostly what I smell, with a touch of ginger. But on the drydown? Slightly sweetened lemongrass.

  9. To me, this is 100% apple. There may be something else in here taming it at the final dry down, but by that time the entire scent is so weak it's hard to smell it. Like many predominantly apple scents, my skin just eats this.

  10. I love all of these notes, but somehow they are swirling together to smell like ... opium? Is that possible? I think this is not for me, and my nose is broken. I think the "opium"-ness is a powdery edge from the amber, which surprises me because amber is usually one of my best notes. Boo.

  11. The Land of Cheerfulness: blood orange and apricot with Chinese geranium, Italian bergamot, langsat pulp, cardamom, white peach, and white sandalwood.

On me, this is bright and cheery - very citrus heavy with the predominant note being bergamot. It reminds me strongly of some of the "metal" Chinese new year scents. On dry down, I get a touch of the peach and sandalwood. I got no cardamom or geranium at all.

So pretty and so perfect for spring. This was my first lunacy in ages and I love it.

  12. This is brand new in the mail and then onto my wrists.

For me, this is vetiver through and through. There is a slightly sweet edge on the dry down which might be the benzoin, but I'm not sure. I don't get any mint, patchouli or any aquatic from this as all. Vetiver vetiver vetiver.

  13. This scent is stunning. I am not a HUGE dragon's blood lover, but something told me to take a chance on this and I am so glad that I did! The wet stage (on me) is dragon's blood with a GIANT HEAP of lemon. I'm not a lemon lover, so I was concerned - but I shouldn't have been! As it dries, the lemon fades into a general sugared tea kind of scent which mixes beautifully with the dragons blood. Definitely a keeper as I've got nothing like this in my collection. <3

  14. Woodsy, frankinscens-y peach. This is truly a resinous/incense blend - the only hint of peach I get is the sweetness in there. Pretty, but the ho wood is giving me a slight pencil shavings vibe. The jury is out!

  15. Love this - it has a boozy peach feeling as others have noted - like peach schnapps, but without the cloying-ness of some of the "booze scents". I agree that I smell everything in its turn - first peach + red musk, then the tobacco and the sweetness from the tonka, but in the end, it's a gorgeous, rounded, grown up peach. Love!

  16. Wet, this is all black musk, opium and opoponax. In fact, in the very beginning, it's almost acrid smelling and then it mellows to being just smoky. Then, I don't know what happens, but it's magic time. The musks back off a lot and the vanilla comes out to play, grounding this scent and making it beautiful. I have to assume that aging will only make it better. Gorgeous!

  17. Blackwood and sandalwood, cashmere and Moradabad brass, camiki and pippali, Kali Mirchi and sesame, all swirled in a warm mélange of incense and jaggery.

To me, this smells like soap at a fancy restaurant. I can't pick out any specific notes other than a well rounded soap smell.
