  1. Vanilla bean and vanilla blossom, golden honey, antiqued amber, beeswax, copal, lotus blossom, and helichrysum.

I bought this because it shared so many notes with Glowing Vulva (lotus blossom and amber) and Giant Vulva (vanilla blossom, copal, honey and beeswax), and it did not disappoint!

It's a sans-teak Glowing Vulva on wet - all amber and lotus blossom backed by vanilla and a very domesticated honey. Honey can go sexy or rancid/funky on me, but this is very tame and structured, if that makes sense. It has a slight floral quality to it - I suppose the helichrysum, which I looked up and got immortelle, which explains it. This is one of very few florals that I can wear and enjoy. It's just sweet enough without being too sweet; the best descriptive word I can think for it is stunning.

It's a bit cleaner of a scent than I thought it would be, and the helichrysum supports this gorgeous amber/lotus/honey scent that's clean and a tiny bit resinous . I wish I could go more in detail about individual notes, but they blend together very well. It's just a gorgeous perfume, and I think a little age will smooth/mellow it out into a universally loved scent.

  2. I loved TTP's review, because that's exactly what happened to me.

I actually made my SO make a bonfire for me so I could burn my first marshmallow. But this isn't burned marshmallow at all, it's burnt sugar. A lot browner and more syrupy than I thought it would be - kind of like Creme Brulee. No smoke to speak of, how sad!

I prefer Boo for my sugary needs, as this is too syrupy and thick for me.

  3. So. I tested this twice today

In the bottle: Green and snow like. Definitely a little minty snow like Waltz of the Snowflakes. The greenness is a little worrying, it's definitely plantlike. I am determined to like this on imagery alone.

Try #1: It's that darned green note from October and Chant D'Automne. I apparently can't do leaves. Then, I fell asleep, and woke up from a nap to: A beautiful vanilla-limned amber perfume that's just gorgeous. I'm so glad I have a bottle of this on the way. It's faint, but oh so beautiful. If on a full test it stays like this most of the time, I could see it being this year's The Girl.

So, since I liked it so much after waking up, I slapped on a lot of it. Like.. time for a full wear!

For a whole hour, it's just greengreengreengreengrassgrassgrassgrassgrass :rasp: Then it turns into minty vanilla with amber and green. Once it's been dry for a long time, it turns into that beautiful vanillic amber, but that's kind of when the scent dies out on my skin. It takes a lot to get there :(

  4. Ah, BPAL leaf scents... I always hope that they'll go the way of Evening Cicadas, but that's the only exception.

This is green- leafy, grassy green. It smells exactly like ICD23 and Chant D'Automne, and even though as it dries the leaves get a little more brown, it's that bed of overwhelming green-ness that smells like sap and grass all the time.

  5. In the bottle: This is like Plastic Pink Flamingo with pine.

Wet: Pine and cotton candy  How on earth does this even work? It’s not bad!

Dry, this is like a very sticky child handing me a bouquet of pine and flowers. But way pine, and light on the flowers. It's that breath of floral that works for my floral-hating skin, like that in Lilith's Tea Party. The cotton candy note is lovely, but far too overshadowed by pine.

  6. I saw your post on Facebook! I love Alien Invasion for Draenei

And I love Forest Reverie for Night Elves. That's perfect. And Ebenezer Scrooge! I forgot about those start zone quests, but it does fit

Someone picked Blood Countess for the blood elves, which was kind of extremely awesome.

I love reading these.. can't wait to see what Brian picked!

  7. These are a little weird maybe, but I think they fit! I tried not to pick any RPGs

    Worgen: The Curator, Fenris Wolf

Draenei: Yvaine, Lady Una (interesting, both from Stardust!)

    Dwarf: Ded Moroz, Night's Bridge

    Gnome: No. 93 Engine

    Human: Tintagel

    Night Elf: ???

    Goblin: Smokestack

Blood Elf: Old Demons of the First Class, Bastet

    Orc: The Rat Speakers, Rumpelstiltzchen

    Tauren: Hunter

Troll: I hate to say it, but truly, Troll

    Forsaken: Tombeur, Hellfire.. Zombi?

  8. I just scanned my spreadsheet for the word cake

Midway and Cake Smash, definitely, though they are harder to find. On me, Midway was lighter and creamier, while Cake Smash is heavy on the batter but deliciously feminine, probably thanks to the Snake Oil.

Teatime in Roswell is another LE, but I see it around more often. The cucumber makes it refreshing, but it's definitely a bready/cakey scent (not so sweet though).

Lilith's Tea Party smelled like the strawberry version of Teatime in Roswell, and I think they shared the same cake note.

In the GC I think Bread and Butterfly is very interesting and worth a look. The bread with the sugar, cream and tea is really nice, and rather different.

Lots of pie and cheesecake scents as well, though I think those are also harder to find.

  9. I normally amp cinnamon, but I didn't get much out of this (I would have liked to!) It's definitely heavier on the other spices, and ends up being a boozy citrus spice (rather a spiced citrus when it dries) on me. I can rarely do citrus though.

  10. Once dry, this is all blond woods with a really unique pumpkin note. I suppose pumpkin rind must be different because it's definitely not as squishy as other pumpkins I've tried. The linen is barely there, but seems to make the woods a little crisper, and I can't smell vanilla.

It's probably the most unique pumpkin scent I've ever tried, but it leans into masculine territory, so I can't see myself wearing it.

  11. First on, this is a light, fruity pumpkin scent that's delicate and pretty. It's not a spicy pumpkin, but a lightly fruity pumpkin dusted with vanilla amber and drizzled in honey.

As it dries, the tiare becomes much more prominent, reminding me quite a bit of Sugar Plum Fairy. Both scents seem to share a lot of notes, but I have always amped tiare. No more pumpkin to speak of.

This is so feminine, and incredibly pretty. A definite crowd pleaser. But as I never wore Sugar Plum Fairy, I'm fairly certain I won't end up wearing this one :(

  12. In the bottle, this smells exactly like Bones Trombone. Very strange!

On wet, it's a grape-heavy wine scent with incense and something sharp that I'd bet was the lab's gin note. I really, really dislike gin notes, and they have ruined many good scents for me  Uh oh!

As this gets drier, it still smells extraordinarily like Bones Trombone, which I guess would be the frosting/cake/berry. The Dorian also probably helps make it smell similar, with the lemon. It really is actually quite lovely, as long as I don't stick my nose to my skin (then it's just that gin note that I hate..) It's a little bit sexy, a little bit fun.

Dry, it is a boozed-up Dorian with lots of wine and cake.

ETA: OMFG. The late dry-down of this scent is... amazing. It's powdery and sexy; I'm at a loss for words to describe it, but it reminds me vaguely of Womb Furie.

  13. if i email the lab my order after paying through paypal, should i expect confirmation? i placed my big order on sept. 12 and emailed them the details the same day, then sent a follow-up a week later and haven't gotten any kind of response. i've never had to do this before and i'm nervous about my order details being misplaced. :(

I was a bit leery of paying through Paypal for my Weenie order of doom, but I did it anyway. I then emailed a list of the scents to answers@... and got a confirmation from Bill later that day (or the next day - it was soon after though). However...I'm seeing all of these CnS's going out that were ordered after mine...and I know sometimes there's a hold up with a bottle or 5, but I really want these...and this is the longest I have had to wait for an order. Just a bit worried...emailed customer service just to check and maybe get an estimated shipping date on Saturday, and still no word. Oh well. I'm just ranting. To answer your question, I believe you should have gotten a confirmation email from customer service. You may want to email just to be on the safe side...

I didn't e-mail since my bottles all fit in the comments box, so no confirmation about my order. It is the first time I've ordered through paypal, and Thursday will hit the 4 week mark  It may be a bit soon, but have you heard back from your Saturday e-mail? I've held back from e-mailing but I'm hoping to hear either that the 9/8 orders are all moving through this week or that one scent or another is on backorder (well, this less hopefully!)

  14. I remember testing this years ago and loving it - it smelled like vanilla ice cream. But I finally managed to snag a bottle and it turned into surgical gloves! Tea scents tend to do that to me, but vanilla/cream has never morphed like this before! :cry2:

  15. This is light vanilla and cognac with a hint of coconut and LOTS OF FRANKINCENSE. The vanilla/cognac is absolutely gorgeous and once the frankincense dries down it's a very smooth, mellow scent (unfortunately that's after 4 hours of wear, so probably the extreme dry-down considering how little I tried on). But frankincense is a very sharp, shrill smell on me - it's very perfumey and it kind of burns my nose, and it overpowers Tattered Lace for quite a while.

Hopefully that'll mellow out with a bit of age the way it did with Red Lace (still waiting to be able to wear that one though!)

  16. I ordered a set of Imps for the first time a few weeks ago, but when I got them in the mail one of the labels was different from what I ordered.

I ordered the RPG Neutral, but I received one with the RPG Elf label instead. Its an orange liquid in the imp vial. After smelling it I'm pretty sure its just been mislabeled, but I wanted to make sure. I'm horrible at describing what scents smell like, so I hope the color is enough to identify it.

    Thanks!

I tried Neutral + Elf + Rogue today, and Neutral's oil is an ambery orange color, while elf is nearly clear (maybe a little yellow?) on me. I can't be entirely certain, as it was shady, but I hadn't expected Neutral to be so dark and it was definitely orange-ish.

  17. Has anyone noticed a batch variation with the CD023 prototype? I bought decants of this from 2 separate people and they smelled completely different. The first one was like plain old carrier oil with a few drops of a "sweet foody" scent in it, and the other smelled like the candy store/foody/cake olfactory orgasm that the reviews described. I figured the first one was stale or adulterated, but I recently saw a sales/swap post where the seller mentioned their bottle smelled nothing like the reviews. Either there's a batch variation out there or a there's shady bottle floating around...

I've actually wondered this! I bought a bottle off livejournal and it was all golden incense with a breath of candy. Definitely not cakey or foody as I've heard it described. At first I chalked it up to skin chemistry, as foody scents go really strange on me quite often, but the reviews all seemed so similar!
