The Serpentine is one of my all-time favorite BPALs, I think.
It's Dorian, amped up on the lavender and vanilla. I find it so comforting and beautiful. It's a soft, lovely lavender that is never harsh or weedy. The vanilla is marshmallow-ey, giving the entire scent the vibe of TKO mixed with Dorian.
I do love this and am so glad to have a bottle.

I feel like scents with Gardenia in them seem really creamy to me. I'm not sure why.... I love Le Serpent Qui Danse. It's not really foody, and it's a gorgeous creamy vanilla floral.
I agree. Tissue is a gardenia scent that I think has a creamy vibe to it.
Also, Katrina van Tassel definitely seems creamy to me too!
I am also someone who did not find Zorya P. to be particularly creamy. It is gorgeous, however.

This is a category I really like!
How about these?

On me, this is a slightly floral, slightly apple-ey, slightly incense-ey blend grounded by the lace base. The apple is not that strong, but blends in nicely with the other notes.
I get no bonfire smoke at all, but maybe that will change after it rests a bit. I do get a warm, summery, pastoral vibe though.
It's fairly potent in terms of throw; the longevity seems pretty good too (I could still smell traces of it on my wrist when I woke up after putting it on at bedtime).
I really, really like this. If you like most of the other Laces, you will likely like this.

This is a lovely scent indeed, and could easily become my favorite hair gloss. I'm surprised that no one yet has compared it to Antique Lace... I'm wearing both today, and I'm in a lovely almost-powdery vanilla cloud.

Tuberose, white peach, orange blossom, lemon peel, and caramelized vanilla.
Upon first application, Humanite is a gorgeous, literally mouthwatering (!) fruity-floral fragrance, grounded by the sweet caramelized vanilla lurking in the background. I can detect each note, yet none stands our more than any of the others.
The white peach and lemon peel leave the party after a while, leaving a trace of their fruitiness in their wake. The tuberose, orange blossom, and caramelized vanilla are more prominent now. As it fades a bit more it becomes a sweet, pretty, soft scent. The tuberose is never overwhelming, and the citrus keeps the whole thing from ever being cloying.
Despite the rather eerie image on the bottle, this is a very lovely and happy scent, evocative of spring and fresh young things. -
Black amber, 7-year aged patchouli, cashmeran, and tobacco leaf.
Dark, chewy, sexy, woodsy. The cashmeran keeps it from being "dirty", I think, and gives it bit of an elegant "clean" vibe. Good, strong, throw initially, and that peanut butter thing that patchouli sometimes does is only there for a brief moment. Not sweet.
I think I love this. I think you will too.Edit: I'm wearing this again today, and after 5 hours, the patchouli is nearly gone; I mostly smell the cashmeran at this point, and it's a nice, classy, woody scent. The initial throw has disappeared, and this seems like more of a skin scent. Very unisex. I now know I love this.

Have you tried My Baby and a Baby Goat?
There are many scents with goat milk notes, including Adrastea, Depart Pour Le Sabbat,
Sweet Lavinia's Risalamande, Nonae Caprotina, Candles Moon, etc. -
Pediophobia

Fear of Dolls
(But not ventriloquist dummies. Thats an entire phobia unto itself.)
White porcelain cracked by white tobacco, threads of brittle cognac, and vanilla filigree.
This is a very interesting blend. I suspect this will be something that I won't reach for much in the near future but will come to really enjoy it later after it has aged and after I have come to associate it with my life at this point.
That doesn't sound like a ringing endorsement. I do like it, though. I had hoped for more sweetness from the tobacco and vanilla, but it is dry, elegant, perfumey, even. I detect something that smells like white tea; I wonder if that is the white porcelain note?
The more I wear it, the more I like it. The throw is very good, and I when I get little whiffs of it, it's very pleasing. It does have a bit of the loud 80's bombshell perfumes feel to it. -
Caspar David Friedrich
Frankincense, myrrh, and rose resin drifting through a winter wood.
This is simply gorgeous (as is the painting on which it is based).
As expected, it's resins and snow and pine, with a hint of rose in the background. The myrrh adds sweetness; it almost smells like there is I some vanilla in here.
There is a bit of baby powder scent in this as it dries, possibly the myrrh and rose? Nevertheless, I still find it lovely. -
I like this. It's not exactly what I expected; on me, it's more dead leaves with even a bit of vaguely fruity "herbage". The sugared cardamom is very subtle. But perhaps that's because (in my excited anticipation after ordering this) I was layering last year's Dead Leaves and Tobacco with Posset's Pavane (a sugared cardamom scent), and expecting something more like that. That was a very sweet and lovely combo, btw.
But I do like this quite a bit, even if has a hint of the dreaded aquatic/men's cologne vibe that many of the dead leaf scents have. -
I love this kid. Oh lord, Lilith, you are my joy. You are silly and sagacious, loud and lovely, ridiculous, theatrical, and serene. You possess one of the kindest souls I have every known, and I am blessed by your compassion and your wisdom.
Snake Oil, lavender, bubblegum, and gummi bears.
I debated long and hard about this one.
The notes called to me, strongly. But having struggled with infertility for many years, and eventually giving up, I worried it might make me sad.
However, I realized how much joy and love children can bring parents. I see it in my brother, my sisters-in-law, my friends, my coworkers. In Beth!!! And I realized that motherhood, even if I can't experience it myself, is something I cherish and revere. So I ordered it!!!
I'm a sucker for Snake Oil flankers. This one is very nice. It seems like a blend of SO with something like Hellion, or Hollywood Babylon, or Jailbait. It's actually more like those scents, with a dollop of SO and a very light dusting of lavender.
I'm glad I got this!!! -
I tested this a few times after I first got it, and I don't think I was the impressed. Following his death this weekend, I pulled it out again. It has aged fabulously!!!! It's a lovely, smooth incense blend. I don't get a lot of leather or vanilla, but it is smooth and just sweet enough. It's on the mascule side, but I generally like scents in that category.
Bottom line: I love it!!! So glad I let it age for a while.

Happy Happy Joy Joy smells just like Lushes Orange Blossom perfume (which is my favourite) but I haven't found any BPAL like it. Even the BPAL Orange Blossom SN isn't as sweet...Can anyone recommend a bpal that smells like lush happy happy joy joy?
Though if you want something in the same area I can suggest Vixen "Lascivious, flirtatious, and vampy as hell. A true heartbreaker’s perfume. The innocence of orange blossom tainted by the beguiling scents of ginger and patchouli."
It's spicy but has that creamy orange blossom scent.
Oddly, the lush orange blossom doesn't work on me. I think there's a rose note in the happy happy joy joy that is missing from the OB. I do like vixen but it is as you say, not as sweet. I am looking to try tweedledee, does anyone know if that's similar?
The closest BPAL I've found to Happy Happy Joy Joy is BPAL's Changing the Shadows, which was a Yule LE from 2010, I think.

On me, this is a mix of sweet coconut curry, buttered popcorn, cardamom rice pudding, and Boo.
I love it!!! It's not beachy, and somehow not really foody, despite the foods that it brings to my mind.
-
This blend just makes me happy!!!
I have worn it a few times now, and it seems to have reasonable throw and longevity on my skin. The leather is definitely there, but it mellows a lot after about an hour. The gingerbread and fruitcake notes make it Christmas-ey without being "holiday candle" or too overtly foody. It's a fun, warm, festive blend that I will be wearing often this holiday season.

Noctiphobia is my favorite dark LE.
Sheol is lovely from the GC.

When I first tried my bottle (had to get a bottle as I loved all the notes), I was slightly disappointed as it seemed very heavy on the geranium. Now, 3 months later, it is GORGEOUS! The geranium is still there but the red musk and the patchouli have come out and it is amazing!
So glad I have a bottle!!!

Amaaaaaaaazing. I receive 0% strawberry, but all sweet marshmallow, whipped cream, and rose. It's like, I think my nose is falling off from this being precisely what I hoped it would be. I love rose, I love sugar, but I wasn't totally in love with Hope -- this is like Hope to the 3rd degree. Hope3. Sticky sticky sticky candied candy candy rose rose rose covered in marshmallow mallow mallow goo. Throw is moderate and inoffensive (except possibly to those sensitive to sugar and/or rose), dries to mostly dusty rose petals with an echo of cream.
Love3.
Upon initial application: Captain Crunch Crunchberry Cereal. With a hint of rose. Love it!!!!!

They are two of my favorites! I find Snake Charmer to be quite similar to WILF. For Black Lace: I have a bottle of the original and also the "appley" version of the resurrected Black Lace. I like the original more (although the appley version is becoming less appley with aging, I think, and is also nice if you like apple).

I agree with the other posters- I think this is poised to be my favorite of all the hair glosses in terms of scent! It goes wonderfully with Sin, and a few days ago I wore it with Hellion v. 2 and I was in a cloud of heaven all day! Even my husband likes it, and it is rare for him to comment on a scent.

Fresh out of the mailbox, Dragon Moon 2012 has kind of a soapy floral scent, but I mean that in the best possible way. That phase morphed quickly into a resiny/woody scent, and I almost was convinced there was rose in here... I'm having a hard time recognizing many of the notes (which is a good thing); I don't get patchouli, or camphor, bergamot, or mint, and the dragon blood doesn't seem to dominate for me at all. I do get maybe a bit of the lavender and the sweetgrass. It smells very clean and dry. It reminds me of Gun Moll and Micthutatel (sorry about the spelling!). I do get the "warmth which is gentle yet powerful at the same time" sense that Mistressfizz got. I like this a lot! I would give it a solid 7/10.

First impression: Really, really nice!!! Spicy! Sweet, but not cloying. This is fresh out of the mail box in a Wisconsin winter, though...
Second impression (5 minutes of wearing): I still really like it a LOT. I've been craving clove scents lately, and this one satisfies. The clove and vanilla together give it a carnation-like scent, not as creamy or smooth as say, Hod (one of my all time faves). It reminds me, oddly, of some wafer candy from my childhood? In a good way. I can see this will be a scent I will get cravings for...
If you like clove or carnation scents, you will like this, I think!

What about Slippery Poppy Tincture? That always seems like a very "red" scent to me.

Madagascar vanilla and sweet patchouli with Yule pine, white fig, and almond blossom.
Initially, this is a blast of almond/cherry and patchouli. Almond never seems to last long, and this is no exception: within an hour, this is a truly lovely, soft scent. It's a warm, slightly powdery, slightly sweet vanilla and patchouli, with only the faintest whiff of pine or fig or almond. Don't confuse this with Banshee Beat: this is clean, gentle patchouli and a very mild, non-foody vanilla. This is a gorgeous, quiet scent that fits its name quite well.
