I actually got a lot of lemony-ness out of this one too... at first I thought it was because I had also put Benevolent Triple Conjunction on my other wrist... I do like lemon, and it smelled pleasant (although somewhat faint in comparison to BTC) but I was hoping for more vanilla, cocoa, and patchouli. I will try it again on its own. It seems like there are a lot of lemony scents lately from the lab!!

They are harder to find, but I would suggest Gun Moll and The Illuminati Cotillion.

i have to admit I was a little disappointed in this when I first got it. Fresh, the cassia dominated and it seemed to have almost a soapy character. Today I decided I needed a "red" scent and noticed this lonely bottle in my BPAL box, and decided to try it. It is really lovely now!!! The cassia is very bright at first, but later calms down. It has a sweet, warm, incensey smell that is comforting and a little spicy. The soapy character is gone. The dragon's blood is just a soft, sweet base and is not that strong in this blend. My husband really liked it too! Now, what other lonely bottles are hiding in my box waiting to be re-discovered....

I think this may be one of my all-time favorite scents from BPAL ever!!!! It is a lot like Snake Charmer, but with the yummy champaca from Panther Moon. If you like Snake Charmer and Panther Moon, I think this will be love.

ltrittipoe nailed this scent: Watermelon Jolly Ranchers!!!!! I will need to wear it again to see if it eventually morphs into something with time. I couldn't get past the Watermelon Jolly Ranchers the first time!

I really, really wanted to like this blend, and I thought I would, since the components are all "win" for me. Alas, on my arm it smells like cheap hotel soap I will try again in a few days before I make a final verdict... Edit: I wore it again this weekend. It does smell better after wearing for a few hours, but it still reminds me at first of some soap we used to have around the house when I was a kid. It is a bit too sweet or something... So disappointing! I really don't get any carnation, just orange blossom.

I am in full agreement with LunaLovegood's review. This is a really, really nice blend. It is rare that I wear the same oil two days running, but I am doing this with Whoop. Initially it is all about the pine. A freshly cut Christmas tree, dragged into the house. Later the pine takes a backseat to the other components, which are nicely balanced in a sweet but not cloying way. I worried that I would smell like a holiday candle... which maybe it does a bit, but in the very best way possible. My husband agreed when he smelled my arm: he said I really did smell like Christmas. It's a very happy scent for me!

Thanks to bheansidhe for organizing the circle of testers for these retail exclusives! The first time I tried this on, I loved it. It had a dark, sweet, sexy smell that I really, really liked. I thought I would have to get a bottle for sure. The second time (granted, this was first thing in the morning) it smelled like..... peanut butter for some reason!!! For some reason I cannot get past that peanut butter association. I like to eat peanut butter... but smelling like it, not so much...

I am not sure why, but this smells very much like Black Lace on me once it has dried down. The tobacco flower smells more like tobacco to me than the nicotiana I have grown in the garden. I think this is one I am going to have acquire in bottle form.

10/01/10 So, who here loves pomegranates? Are the good as a fruit, a flavoring or just a scent? I like them as a scent, flavoring, and fruit. I wouldn't say I "love" them, though. Haunt Update? This one is gorgeous!!! It is a beautiful blend. The rose is not that noticeable yet. The lavender is there, but it is subtle. It is sweet, dark, and while there is a very slight fruitiness to it, it doesn't dominate. Feminine, romantic, and utterly lovely.

Thanks to GypsyRoseRed and her Bat's Day sniffing circle I was able to experience Rivet.Goth. Sadly, this is probably one of my least favorite BPAL oils ever. As someone else commented, it smelled like... fertilizer! Or moldy leather? I had to wash it off immediately. It does smell like the inside of a garage, but not in a good way to me. But at least I got to try it!

I wasn't too excited about this one, but ordered this in a decant circle because I ordered all the other Moths and didn't want this one to feel left out. And I know from experience that sometimes the scents that don't thrill by the list of notes end up being wins. On me it is fruity, sweet; mostly pear and lime. I get a hint of carnation and a little tea blast initially, but now after about 15 minutes it is mostly a nice sweet fruity light green scent. Its fruitiness reminds me a bit of Autumn Moon of the Mirror Stand. Actually, I am really liking this one!!!! I will wear a few more times, but it might be bottle worthy!!!

This is nice! It smells like a dusty sweet cocoa to me. I don't get much mint at all, and it is a little foody but not over the top. The cedar is fairly restrained, although if I think about pencil shavings, I can smell them in this. I'm glad I got to try this one.

On me, Sed Non Satiata smells a LOT like Devil's Night 09.

Thanks for all of the wonderful suggestions! I agree that Alice falls into this category too, and it is one that I like a lot. Three Brides, I cannot believe I forgot about that one! There are a lot of recommended ones that I have tried and love but didn't think of in this category, but will have to try again now. Et Lux Fuit, Haloes, Queen Alice, The Little Wooden Doll, Kubla Khan, Inez, Two Five Seven, Lyonnesse, Echo, and Antique Lace. And there a number on my current wish list that were recommended: Chrysanthemum Moon, L'Estate, Zarita, Lamia, Lady Lilith. Red Lantern was too carmel-ly when I tried it the first time, but perhaps I should give it another go. I'm especially excited to learn of some that someone have missed my radar screen until now!
