  1. Long time BPAL-er on the hunt for a specific floral. I have tons of the lab's florals but nothing has been anything like a particular scent that I seek - the scent of a florist's fridge! If you ever opened the refrigerator door in a floral section or (omg heaven) walked into a massive unit at a floral shop, you probably know what I'm talking about. The cool scent with a hint of carnation, rose, baby's breath, a hint of green ...and something else, orchids or lilies perhaps? I worked with Violette Market on a custom scent but it didn't come out as I'd hoped. I'm trying to find a floral that's not overpowering or heavy on on particular note with something to give it the icy note of the fridge. VM added a hint of mint but that didn't work. Some kind of ozone note maybe? If anyone has suggestions, please let me know! One day I'll find my floral! :wub2:

  2. I have waited entirely too long for this scent. My only complaint is that is more powdery than I like, BUT, the vanilla and sandalwood are freaking amazing. I really have to slather this one on and I gladly will for the yumminess that Lyonesse turns into. It's very light and appropriate for all seasons, work, late night rendezvous, etc. I think this will be one of my favorite nighttime after shower get into bed and huff myself scents.

  3. This is the surprise hit of the Yules for me. And the only one, besides more precious Snow White, that I'll be getting bottles of. I don't get any ginger, I get creamy nutmeg, cardamom and just a hint of the nuts. I absolutely love it and after a couple of hours it morphs into this fantastic creamy nom-ness that I adore. And to think I almost did get this one. FOR SHAME!

  4. My sniffer isn't very refined yet, but this was absolutely horrible on me. I'm not sure if it was one note or the combination but it went to pure ol' lady stench that was way too strong. I tested it while at work and had to go to the restroom and scrub it off. The gardenia wasn't very strong (and I like gardenia) so I think it was possibly the poppy that was overwhelming. I'll be swapping this one fo' sho'.

  5. LOVE Boo. It's one of the two 'weenie bottle purchases I made and I got a decant of almost all of them. A milky, creamy, sugary goodness that I sniffed all day long. This one really lasted on me and eventually faded to a smoky vanilla. It smells like a starched cheesecloth over a bowl of creamy vanilla frosting or pudding. I think it will layer beautifully with others but on its own, it's lovely. ...I should have bought two bottles.

  6. This is a lovely scent but way too strong to wear on my skin. I'm in agreement with some other reviews that it smells very "candle" like. It will be perfect in my oil burner as a fall home scent. But WEARING it is ick, I smell like a Yankee Candle store.

  7. ...this has given me a terrible headache. The cherry-ish almond is just too overpowering. I'm going to test it on someone else as it might just be my chemistry but BLEH. Maybe in a locket it might not be so nauseating but I'm going to go scrub my arms now.

  8. Wet, it smells like a yummy cherry coke! I usually HATE anything cherry but this is good. Sadly, it dries to a powdery sick floral/almond extract smell. I like it enough to hold on to it for possible layering and to see if it works better with a friend's chemistry or to see if it ages differently.

  9. *hugs the imp* Elegba is gorgeous. I didn't have very high hopes as coconut scents tend to turn a little sour on me, but this one is fantastic. It smells like true coconut oil with a splash of not-too-sweet rum that keeps it from smelling too fruity. The tobacco is very very light and fresh, it lingers in the background like faint tendrils curling around an island bar. Lovely.

  10. It smells lovely at first ...very green and white that reminds me of standing under a flowery and ivy laden archway. Within 10 minutes this fades to bathroom air freshener scent that almost smells greasy on me. Stupid skin of mine.

  11. 07 version - GORGEOUS. I am so pleased I have a bottle of this (but I need more!) as it's definitely in my top 5 at this point. The florals are understated and not too green, overlaid with an icy creaminess that blends into a magically yummy scent. I smelled it through the package and thought "oh please let that be Snow White and not one of the imps!" ...I look forward to hunting down the other years of this scrumptious scent.

edit: This has become my #1 scent. It reminds me of too-ripe sliced bananas in ice cold milk. Not in the sense that it smells of bananas, but that ripe green smell with the cold creamy scent mixed in. GAWD I love this. I don't really know how the Yules work but OMG I hope we get this again this year. I'll buy the crap outta some Snow White!

  12. The Hesperides are the Nymphs of the Evening who dwell in a verdant garden located in the Arcadian Mountains, guarded by the terrible three-headed dragon, Ladon. Within their garden lives the tree that bears Hera's sacred Golden Apples. Their perfume is that of sturdy oak bark, dew-kissed leaves, twilight mist and crisp apple.

In the bottle, it almost smells like band aids and jolly ranchers. On my skin, it has mellowed out into a medicinal icky apple/certs smell. It's not an overpowering smell but it's just not meshing well with me.

  13. It smelled promising at first, but after an hour it has faded to overly ripe raspberries and pencil shavings. I adore anything with olive but it's not coming through at all on me. Sigh. *moves to swaps*

  14. I received a frimp of Tombstone from a lab order and HOLY CRAP. I wound up loving this way more than the bottles I bought. It's ever so slightly foody, to me it smells like a bakery or a candy shop on an old west dusty road. LOVE LOVE LOVE this scent.
