  1. A lot of slightly plasticky, but actually quite nice bubble gum - and there really is something "chilly" in the background, and I have no idea how Beth does this, but there you have it :)

It feels like a scent that little girls would love, but I feel like it is too girlish for my tastes. I might hold onto the decant, though, because it is a fun scent after all :)

  2. I don't think this is similar to Eat Me on me, like I have read it is for some people.

This is mostly sugared currant with a teensy bit of honey, but not cake-like at all.

It is rather pleasant, but not something I will be needing a bottle of

  3. This is SUPER fizzy. It doesn't really read as champagne to my nose, but definitely something bubble, like soda. It pretty much overpowers all the other notes, except I get a little bit of leather in the background. I'm not getting anything in the way of patchouli or rose.

It is nice enough, but ultimately too champagne-y for my tastes.

  4. A very beautiful blend. I can pick out the white flowers, and the pepper gives it just a little bit of zest that I quite like. It feels somewhat funereal, so I'm not sure when I would get around to wearing it, to be honest.

I like the juxtaposition of white and black notes in this blend, fitting for the concept picture.

  5. This one has a lot of cinnamon, but it feels almost effervescent for some reason? There is a hint of the leather in the background, and the whole thing is shrouded in a little cloud of incense smoke.

Very lovely, and definitely unisex too. It feels like a powerful blend for a man, but the right kind of woman could definitely wear it too.

  6. I am getting a lot of honey from this one, with white rose. It certainly shares a vibe with Katrina Van Tassel, but is also very different.

There is something greenish creeping up behind the rose scent + a little resinous glow from the myrrh.

I actually prefer the wet stages on this one, where it is predominantly rose. But overall it is a nice and somewhat different weenie

  7. This feels almost "green" initially, although there are no green notes listed.

It's a very soft and wistful blend of white flowers and a little cognac (not a lot), with the sandalwood grounding everything nicely.

It is very pretty, but ultimately not something I would reach for often. I'll keep my decant, though!

  8. This starts out as a blast of almond that seems almost bitter. It's a little too powerful for my tastes, but it fades quickly and settles into a soft, well-worn leather with a sweet overlay. The leather feels more like dusty suede, actually. Very nice. I am not getting much of the other notes, though, which is a shame.

Overall I quite like it, and it feels like a rather grown-up scent for Lilith

  9. Ghost Revelry

While we were at Kensal Green in March, Lilith began knocking on all the crypts to wake the ghosts. In her estimation, they were likely bored and lonely, and a party would do them some good. Lil is always very concerned about everyone’s happiness, both the living and the dead.

A spectral shindig: damp mosses, fallen leaves, and soft woods swirled with an ethereal mist of white sandalwood, lilac, orris root, and moonflower.

I was so excited for this, since the concept reminds me of a favorite scene from Fable 3, where all the ghosts in the cemetery have a party

I don't smell anything in the bottle at all! On the skin it is very light and ethereal, with a prominent lilac note that I love. It feels very evocative of a peaceful old cemetery in the morning dew, or perhaps the evening mists? There is a bunch of greenery in this as well, but all of it stays very subdued.
It's in the same family as last year's Ghost Houses, although that one was more powerful on me.

Since the concept is supposed to be a ghost party, I might have liked something that gave it a little more oomph, since it's all very light. Definitely ghostly, though. I'm glad I have a bottle!

  10. This is exactly what the description says! A veritable explosion of colours and impressions of flowers, all coated in a not-too-sticky sugar. It is fresh and sprightly, a little sharp, but not too much so, and very festive.

I'm glad I got a bottle; this is exactly the kind of sugared flowers I love!

  11. James Gillray
Wig powder, amber-perfumed leather gloves, and rose petals with a sliver of oak bark and cauldron smoke.

    This is a curious beast.

I am definitely getting something powdery, and the way it evokes wig powder is uncanny. I can just imagine a gentleman wearing a powdered wig with this one!
The leather is not sharp, but the well-worn kind, and I am only getting a very little bit of rose, so if you're worried about that note, you don't have to be.
It is hard to tell whether what I'm getting is simply the powder, or the smoke as well. I don't find it too smoky at all, though.

It is a very mysterious scent, and somewhat masculine, although the right kind of woman could also pull it off.

I quite like it, but I'm not sure I will keep my bottle, as I wouldn't know when to wear this sort of scent.

  12. Jean van der Velde II
An evocation incense of frankincense, styrax, lavender buds, mastic, and white sandalwood mingled with moonflower, violet absolute, tuberose, and dark musk.

I was wary of the lavender, because that notes doesn't always work well for me.
It does indeed open up with a big blast of lavender, which put me a little off. After some drying down, however, the lavender subsides, and I'm getting a lot of the violet instead, overlaying the resins and the musk. Those are in the background and not too prominent. The tuberose is sweet in the background, too, but I'm not sure I'm getting any moonflower.

Overall, it is a nice dark floral scent, but I will have to let it settle a bit more (this is straight out of the mail) before deciding whether I will hold onto the bottle, since the lavender is a bit too much in the beginning.

  13. This one is utterly beautiful! So evocative of autumn.

It starts of rather fruity, with the pomegranate and currant being equally prominent, but after a little while a soft smokiness settles in and turns the scent snuggly and somewhat sweet. The patchouli is soft and not overwhelming; just perfect! The honey is not overwhelming either, but just gives a teensy bit of sweetness to the blend.

It reminds me somewhat of Samhain, actually, although this one is not as dark and smoky. It is very autumnal, and if you like Samhain, I would say give this a go, you won't be disappointed!

It stays fairly close to the skin.

  14. This goes on as really strong leather at first! Definitely of the black variety.

The leather stays at the forefront, but calms down a little as other notes come out to play. Here are the resins and the balsam! The peach is, admittedly, hard to detect against so many heavy notes.

I like the blend, but it disappoints a bit as a Peach Pit scent, simply because there is no peach to be found….
