  1. In the imp it has this astringent quality to it that is almost unpleasant. But on my skin it opens up into a very pleasant scent. However, I can only pick up the rose in this one. But it is a very, very nice rose!

  2. I was expecting something a little mustier, duller, and more masculine. Instead, it's light and not nearly as masculine as I was expecting. It's really a pleasant scent, though not the sort that I view as "my kind" of scent. I shall have to dupe some male friend of mine into putting it on, because I think that might only improve it :yum:

  3. I love the light crispness of this scent. I just have to say that I swear there is a hint of anise/licorice to this blend, and it hovers about 3" off my skin. If I put my nose to my wrist I don't get it, only when I'm typing, and it's only if I've just put Fae on that I notice this, so it can't be something else. It's a great scent and I love the smell of anise and licorice so it really only makes it better, but yeah, just a bit strange.

  4. When I first put it on, it reminds me of that barrage of scents that comes from incense shops which is just slightly overwhelming. Whereas the Feast is a heavy scent, this one comes across more as an oppressive scent, like a wall. If I concentrate hard during this phase I can get whiffs of aquatics and earth, but it's mostly unpleasant.

However, after some time it does start to calm down and the myrrh really comes out and is a pleasant note. And there are some subtly spicy bits in there. But there's still this something in there that's just a bit unfriendly. It's almost a nice scent on my skin, but not quite. I'm wondering if aging will help, so I'll probably just tuck my imp away for a bit.

  5. Wet it is almost oppressively heavy and foody. Even as it's dried it comes across very strongly, and definitely very heavy. It actually smells a little better when I catch whiffs of it from my hand as I'm moving about the apartment cleaning. The whiffs are a very light cocoa seasoned with some spices. Up close though it's a very heavy layer of cocoa. I get the cinnamon, but it's a dull and muted variant, not really the kind of cinnamon I like. I'm not sure if I like this scent or not. It's definitely yummy and interesting, but I'm not sure it's something I'd really wear because it just feels heavy to me. Maybe I'll just wear it in the evenings around home for myself. :)

  6. Like others have said, it is a very cologne-y scent. I can kind of get a hint of underlying softness. The gold comes across more as an image the scent creates, it's definitely a light and golden sort of smell but I'm not getting a metallic scent at all. It's a pleasant smell, but a little too much cologne for me to wear.

  7. A negatively charged scent. Ambergris, Spanish Moss, oakmoss and three electric mints.

This scent completely disappears into my skin. There's a hint of something, I think the ambergis, and then it's just... poof, gone! It's been eaten! The ambergis wiff that I get on its own doesn't work for me, either.

  8. It's a very, very hot day here and this scent is perfect. It's such a light and breezy scent, not terribly floral or overpowering in any way. There's a hint of "tropicalness" to it, but overall it's just refreshing. It reminds me of a more pleasant summer day than this one: shining sun, warm air, and a lightly cool breeze.

  9. I was expecting something a little more smoky and musky based on the reviews. But I'm starting to think that maybe my skin eats a good portion of musks and dampens them somewhat, since this one is really hard to sniff on my skin, even if I put unscented lotion on first. But the smell I do get is really nice: sort of a soft greeny musk, but very gentle and almost ethereal which is not a property I'd usually attribute to any musks. It's nice, but I wish it had a bit more throw to it.

  10. I love this scent! It's this dusky warm smell, with just the hint of vanilla. I'm not getting any sweetness, just the more sensual side of vanilla. ;) There's also a bit of dark honey in there. I'm definitely going to have to get a bottle soon, since this is very enjoyable. And very sexy. Though my skin seems to drink it up fairly quickly.

  11. This is all tasty pink sugar on me. :yum:

I love it, but it's not what I'm looking for in a fragrance, so I'm probably going to turn it into lotion and add it to other things so I can enjoy that fantastic smell. I'm starting to drool

  12. I definitely get more clove than rum, but it's kind of an unpleasant smell... like cloves marinating in a glass of rum that has sat out for a week. It's not right for my skin and additionally smells rather masculine on me.

  13. I agree that it feels like there are two layers to this scent. First there's a gentle smoky scent that's kind of earthen-like, but behind it there's this hint of delicate flower. I can get a bit of the nicotiana, which really does have a hint of freshly crushed nicotiana leaves, but maybe that's because I'm sensitive to nicotiana having worked with varieties for a number of years. I think it's contributing to that earthy smoke that I get at first whiff, though there's some herbally goodness to that smoke scent as well.

I'm quite fond of this one!

  14. Upon cracking the imp I took a deep sniff and was all, "Ahhhh, this is gorgeous and an awesome scent." I then proceeded to slather some on my wrists and took another deep whiff, and agreed it was awesome on my skin. I put some more on my neck and cleavage, then tiptoed over here to post about how much I loved this scent, etc.

And then I started getting this crawling feeling on my skin, and then I started itching something awful. I got up and looked in the mirror and had horrible hives all over my neck, chest, and wrists. :o

I hopped in the shower and started to try and scrub it off with some soap. In hindsight, not a very good idea since it seems to have spread to my legs? And down my arms? While the intensity of the itchy/burning has gone down, there are still some itchies and definite red marks.

I've never had this sort of reaction to anything -- not even poison oak, sumac, etc. and certainly not from any cosmetic or perfume. I kind of wish I knew what was in here so I could identify the irritant.

And this is such a lovely scent, too!! :cry2:

Good thing I just got a scent locket.

  15. All I get is cinnamon. Slightly sweetened, brilliant cinnamon. This is the only cinnamon blend though that does cause a faint bit of skin irritation when initially applied to my wrists, which is a shame because it's probably my favorite cinnamon blend. But on the other hand, the reaction isn't that bad... :P

  16. This was a frimp, and definitely not something I had considered before. I'm a bit wary of floral blends smelling, well, too flowery. When I popped the imp to sniff at it, I was greeted with this delicious wafting of something slightly sweet, perhaps a dark nectar. On my skin it opened up and became this rich and deep scent that only barely reminded me of florals. Now that I've looked the scent up, yes it is a floral scent, but it's darker and not as sharp as many of the other floral blends I've tried. I'm enjoying this scent quite a lot actually.

  17. This is definitely a light and playful scent with a hint of intriguing spiciness that stops just short of being too overwhelmingly incense-like for my tastes. I'm quite fond of this and it makes me feel energized and mischievous.

  18. The first whiff is all florals, but on my skin it mellows out and there is a background of light sweetness. Nectar perhaps? But it remains very much like a flower garden on my skin.

I like this smell, but it's not for me. I don't like the overwhelmingly floral scent.

  19. This smells great and I love the notes listed, but for some reason it just does not stand out or really strike me with a "wow!". I think this must be because I tried Lust first, and this just doesn't measure up to the sexy sinfulness of that scent. I'm a bit biased I think.
