Ohh my, this one is amazing. The bottle smells very strong and almost unpleasant. Wet on my skin it does sort of smell like hot concrete in the middle of the summer here. And then it dries and becomes this gorgeous smoky ash with a touch of cedar. Far more pleasant than I would expect a smokestack to smell, but such an awesome and amazing smell!

Soft is a great term for this. It is such a light and barely noticeable scent. I could barely smell anything when I opened the imp and it was only after it had been on my skin about 10 minutes that I could detect just the slightest hint of a scent.

The Four Hundred divine rabbits of the Aztec pantheon that preside over parties and drunkenness. Bittersweet Mexican cocoa with rum, red wine, and a scent redolent of sacrificial blood. This one is definitely Mexican hot chocolate, but not in an overpoweringly foody sort of way. The chocolate-ness is almost more dark chocolate than the sweeter milk chocolate, and unlike other chocolate containing scents (Gluttony, for example) this one doesn't smell syrupy. However, I noticed it faded really fast (~ 30 minutes) so while it's a pleasing scent, it just doesn't have the staying power that I'd like for a perfume.

Mmm, what an awesome yummy scent! It's not as dark and bitter as the description made me think. I sniffed the imp and it smelled earthy, but on my skin it morphed into the smell of camping in a lush evergreen forest with the hint of campfire in the air. I can't stop sniffing at my wrists, it's so pleasing and earthy, foresty without coming across to me as masculine.

I'm getting the barest hint of dirt in this scent, but it is mostly a gentle flowery smell. While it is a pleasant smell and I like it, it's not a scent that really pops out IMO.

A scent aflame with rage, swirling in the red haze of hatred: dragon's blood spiked with black pepper, clove, and cinnamon. First of all, I love the color of this oil! It's so vibrant and pretty. Opening the imp, I get blasted with the scent of cinnamon candy, like cinnamon altoids or red hots. On my skin, the sweetness is lost and I get pure hot cinnamon. After about an hour the cinnamon isn't that noticeable, it just smells spicy and hot, though I occasionally got a whiff of red hots as I was walking around at work. Edit: Wow. I've never had a BPAL scent last this long on me! I've been catching whiffs of it all day and I sniffed my wrists and it is still there!

I love the initial citrus-y smell of this imp, but what I particularly like is the way it calms and the individual notes come out when it's on my skin. It does morph rather crazily on my skin, but the end result is a light, crispy, and slightly spicy citrus scent.

I'm not a fan of this one. It's too much floral. I can't get any of the vanilla or opium out of it.

It just smells musky when it's in the bottle, but I can smell the awesome components of it once it is on my skin. I notice that when I sniff imps/bottles, I can usually only notice the very dominant note(s), but it opens up once it's on my skin. I love the creamy, slightly spicy, sexiness of this smell!

In the bottle I just smell sweetness. It's almost a bit too syrupy. But on my skin it's a lighter sweetness with a hint of rum in the background. It kind of makes me think of hot buttered rum, though it's definitely not an overpowering food smell. Even after trying it a few times, I'm uncertain as to whether or not I really like it. I'm not sure I would wear it out in public, but it's a pleasing smell to me, so maybe I'll just put it on before bedtime. (I like to wear a bit of perfume so I feel and smell clean and nice when I go to sleep )

In the bottle it's a gingery floral smell. On my skin it's a gentle ginger with just a bit of spice and crispness to it, but the flower smell mostly fades. I'm quite fond of it, though one of my coworkers noticed it and was wondering what "that flowery perfume-y smell" was and indicated it wasn't that great of a scent, so I'm not sure if it's really right for me.

In the bottle it's a flowery musk, but on my skin it is all floral. Actually, it's far too flowery for my likes. There's a hint of warmth and a very light touch of spice, but in my opinion that doesn't save it from being too flowery.

Thick, sugared and bloated with sweetness. Dark chocolate, vanilla, buttercream, and hops with pralines, hazelnut, toffee and caramel. It's a very rich and syrupy smell. I'm not actually a fan of it, it was just too heavily sweetened and smelled kind of artificial both in the imp and on me. It's too foody, like I spilt syrup on my clothes or hair.

This was a bonus imp with one of my orders. I'd glanced over the listing before and was shocked when I sniffed it. In the imp it's this dark, luscious, and simply delicious scent. It's a bit musky, but that scent is tempered out when it dries on my skin, and then it simply smells, well... lusty and sexy. It's dark and musky but without being masculine.

Wow. I LOVE this scent. I got it in imp form, along with Inferno and Wrath, since I simply adore cinnamon scents. (I'm particularly fond of Lush's New! solid shampoo. Nothing like that awesome cinnamon-y smell in the morning!) I opened the imp and was blasted with cinnamon tempered sweetness. On my skin the sweetness is dulled, so it is less syrupy smelling. As it dries down, it becomes more and more a warm, spicy cinnamon with the barest hint of sweet. Mmmmmmmmmmm.

An amorphous, radiant, incandescent scent. Ever changing, protoplasmic and primordial: white amber, green coconut meat, iris, palmarosa, Chinese peony, lime, water lily, snowdrop, muguet, lemongrass, osmanthus, wisteria, glassy musk, and hinoki. I didn't initially like this scent, which I got in imp form, but it grew on me and now I really like it. It's this light sort of floral-citrus smell, like an infusion of flowers and citrus in a bowl of ocean water. It's refreshing and delicious.

I love anything evocative of the ocean, so I had to try this one. The smell was kind of dark and cologne-y when I sniffed my imp so I was a bit wary of it, but then I applied it and it totally lost that and turned into a beautifully dark ocean scent. The dry down smell is amazing: it's very much like an exotic ocean, but not in the tropical sense but rather in the way that an Antarctic beach would be exotic and strange. It makes me think of a siren in that it's a pleasant salty, oceanic smell layered over something strange and dangerous.

I got this as an imp after reading the reviews, because I also love the smell of ginger. However, I was rather disappointed by this scent though I wanted to love it. When I smelled it, it was overwhelmingly more coconut-y than ginger-y. It also had a slightly sharp tanginess to it that wore off when it dried. However, by the time I got to work (1hr) the scent was completely gone, which was another disappointment.

I got this as an imp a while back and fell in love with it and ordered a 5ml bottle almost straight away. I simply love R'lyeh! I don't get the grapefruit at all, but it definitely smells crisp and clean, but with an undertone of something darker just under the surface. It doesn't change much between application and dry-down, but after an hour or so it is a little darker and less "bright" I guess I'd call it. Anyway, I totally adore this scent.
