    Lightning

This is a wonderfully clean smell on me. I get compliments every time I wear it. If you like storm-on- the-beach scents, give it a try!

    French Love

This was such a surprize for me. My friend Kate tried this on at the last Will-Call we went to. It smelled good on her and she put some on me. It was love (French or otherwise) at first sniff. For some reason, complicated scents work well with my chemistry (which must be perverse). After reading all the cautionary tales about dragon's blood, I never would have tried this. It's one of my favorites.

    Yvaine

On me, this starts lavender, stays lavender and finishes lavender. Aggressive, headbanging lavender. Where did that come from? It's a nice fragrance, but doesn't do it for me as a perfume. I will use it as a pillow scent to get the most of this scent.

    Nuit

I got this as a frimp. Both my friend (and partner in BPL crime) and I overlooked this one. I wanted to try something out of the ordinary and popped some on the other day and loved it. It seems like an beautiful old-fashioned (yet not dated) soothing floral. I couldn't sleep last night because of intense pain from a newly fractured foot and it really helped take the edge off. I will most likely go for a 5cc of this.

    The Coiled Serpent

Coiled Serpent is said to have certain powers involving Kundalini energy, etc. After a critically stressful , chaotic week at work and a particularly bad day yesterday, I wore my locket with Coiled Serpent today because I like the smell. On the drive in I started feeling very calm and focussed (despite the double cappuccino). Once there, solutions to problems just stacked up. I was thinking clearly, having great ideas, etc., even after not sleeping well. Coincidence? This is a hard-line patchouli scent. I love it (former San Fransisco Hippie in the building). Until anyone proves me wrong, I may just believe there's magic in this potion. Just took another sniff. Damn, it's nice. I feel really good.........Maybe it's in my head.........Who the hell cares

    Phobos

Darned this stuff is nice. Smells like sweet lemon tea or cake on me. This will be great during those hot, dry California summer days. I love it.

    The Caterpillar

There's something that is strange and addictive about this scent. It's almost as if I want to wear it when I'm enjoying a quiet bit of time to myself (analyze that!). The jasmine comes on strong after dry down. I wore jasmine oil in high school; this is so reminiscent. It does, smell as if it could be the scent of the caterpillar's lair. Very Lewis Carroll. Please excuse repeated posting! Computer is doing strange things! Again, apologies. It won't happen again. Idea for new scent: Laptop Lies Bleeding On Trashpile. "A cold scent reminiscent of malfunctioning technology and user frustration".

    Vixen

This is an excellent orange blossom blend. I wanted to try it after reading that it was similar to Lush Karma. I was not disappointed. As others have indicated, it's quite like Karma, but more "dangerous". First day out I received compliments.

    Danse Macabre

I picked this up at the Will Call, even though it was not on my "try" list. I ended up buying a 5cc bottle. It is dry, fresh and reminds me of spots along Pacific Coast Highway, north of Malibu, like Sycamore Cove. It's not the most long lived scent on me, but it would be a perfect scent for hot summer days when sweet or overly fragrant scents would be unbearable.

    Rakshasa

This sounded like something I'd like per the description so I ordered an imp. It arrived, I put some on and immediately ordered a big bottle. It is all glorious Indian rose-sandalwood incense. Today it lasted all day, changed slightly but still smelled good. These oils are so unique to each individual's chemistry. That tells me that they are made with good quality oils, not some chemical crap.
  11. Does anyone know of a BPAL scent that resembles Aveda Deep Penetrating Hair Conditioner (recently discontinued)? The only thing close to it is (IMO) Pacifica's Spanish Amber which does not last on me. I would appreciate any recommendation.

    Malice

This is my first BPAL-by chance. I ordered a scent locket and the lovely, generous people who sent the locket also sent several frimps. The first one I tried was Malice. It is so gorgeous and unique. It is similar to an oil called Atlantis that was made and sold by a shop in Malibu of the same name. It was one of my all time favorites and I was very unhappy when the shop closed. Happy days are here again. I chose a winner first time out! I am terrible with scent identification, but it smells soft and something like heliotrope on me. In the locket it smells like heliotrope incense. Love it!
