  1. Still looking for a signature scent.

Finally I have found out that I am into floral scents and my husband thinks floral scents are the most feminine and suitable for a woman.

Among flowers I think that lily (not the lily of the valley) is the most unique and attractive. Something like the lilies of the flowerist with a good throw.

I searched for the lily in BPAL perfumes and I have come across with the ones:

Ave Maria Gratia Plena: Rosewood with Sicilian lemon peel, red Mysore sandalwood, pale musks, sweet mountain sage and a dusting of lily, night-blooming jasmine and orris. (unfortunately out of stock)

Languor: Paperwhite and black narcissus, three lilies, black poppy and tuberose and a hint of hypnotic opium den haze.

Prague: Crocus with snowdrop and three lilies.

Reaper and Flowers: longiflorum lilies, white rose, chrysanthemum, and carnation.

Vodoo Lily: A breathtakingly exotic, wild, and grossly erotic spicy gold, purple-black, and burgundy lily.

Black Lily: Breathtaking darkness, a vision of gracein shadow.

Cobra Lily: Sharp, heady and viciously carnivorous.

Black lily sounds good but I have not tried any bpal that contains lily.

    Any suggestions???

  2. Hi everyone,

I just want your help to find a suitable perfume for the character The Customer (Marley Shelton) in the "The Customer Is Always Right" part in Sin City movie.

    It is the opening scene.

    Here is the summery:

The Salesman (Josh Hartnett) walks onto a penthouse balcony where The Customer (Marley Shelton) looks out over Basin City. He offers her a cigarette and says that she looks like someone who is tired of running and that he will save her. The two share a kiss and he shoots her; she dies in his arms. He says he’ll never know what she was running from but that he’ll cash her check in the morning.

It is very film noir. I want a perfume for myself that will evoke this scene.....

    here is the video:

I hope Beth will create scents for Sin City......

  3. Hi everyone,

Yesterday I watched a french film called "L'appartement" in which Monica Belluci and Vincent Cassel are starring.

Lisa character which Monica Belluci is playing affected me very much.

There is a scene where Lisa makes a phone call and then leaves. Max (Vincent Cassel) goes to the place where she had make a phone call

and smells her perfume. What could be the perfume of Lisa in that scene ?(thinking the atmosphere there and her red shoes)

I add a link for this scene. (1.10-3.10)

    My link

I also highly recommend this film :luv2:

I think that Lucretia can be a scent for the character Lisa.

  4. Hi,

I am in search of my ultimate femme-fatale perfume.

I made a research and have come up with this bpals. Here are:

Liz: A light, feminine vanilla floral perfume and a swirl of smoke and leather

Mama-ji: Spices, cardamom, nutmeg, and flowers

Lamia: Deadly elegance: pale orchid, vanilla amber, black currant, white peach, champaca, coconut, Arabian myrrh, Burmese vetiver, and oude

Mastermind: An elegant cologne of olibanum, opoponax, leather accord, black amber, bois de jasmine, cade wood, pale balsam, orange blossom, oudh, black plum, bourbon vanilla, and sandalwood.

Opium Poppy: Opium teaches only one thing, which is that aside from physical suffering, there is nothing real. A bitter, soft, fragile flower

Black Lily: Breathtaking darkness, a vision of grace in shadow

Black Rose: Exquisitely melancholy. The background scent to an ancient exequies. Heavy, dark and floral: a blend of roses, with a touch of amber and musk

Belle époque: Lily of the Valley, vanilla, mandarin and red sandalwood

Kubla Khan: Through sunlit caves of ice, roses unfurl amidst dancing waves of serpentine opium smoke and amber tobacco, golden sandalwood, champaca, tea leaf, sugared lily, ginger, rich hay absolute, leather, dark vanilla, mandarin, peru balsam, and Moroccan jasmine

Lucretia: Iris, black amber, sage, Kashmir wood, vanilla musk, mandarin and violet

Marquis de Merteuile: Opulent galbanum and amber, glistening peach, and a bouquet of French florals, with a merciless undertone of jonquil and heartless vetiver

Medea: Night-blooming cereus, black orchid, black currant and myrtle leaf enshrouded in the incense of Hecate's cypress and myrrh, and the dark rage of magickal labdanum and intoxicating poppy

New Orleans: Reminiscent of hothouse blooms on a humid night, ripe, but touched with decay. Sweet honeysuckle and jasmine with a hint of lemon and spice

Fallen: Cherubic white sandalwood and golden musk with a dark halo of amber, a breath of imperial florals, unbending woods, and the shadow cast by vetiver and violet

Languor: Paperwhite and black narcissus, three lilies, black poppy and tuberose and a hint of hypnotic opium den haze

Whip: Agony and ecstasy: black leather and damp red rose

Salomé: Exotic and lush, brimming with grace and viciousness: almond with star jasmine, oakmoss, red sandalwood and Egyptian musk.

What do you think of these? I could not decide. Help me to chose my film-noirish type femme-fatale scent

  5. Hi,

I am curious about the violet musk. I have tried some bpal oils that smells like violet musk to me (my imagination :wub3: ) although I do not exactly know how violet musk smells.

Perhaps it is a combination of some notes.

Here are the blends I've tried:

    Lucretia (vanila musk+violets)

    The Velvets (inky musk+violets)

Bruised Violet Compound (not a musk note listed in the ingredients, perhaps patchouli leaf gives a feeling like musk)

Violet Ray (purple musk was to die for :) )

Do you know any other blends which has a true violet musk scent???

Do anyone know the compsition of violet musk??

  6. I am in search of a flower scent in the colors of red. I have been through in red scents like Vixen.

However I want something flowerish now. I am fond of jasmine too. Whip also came to my mind but I want something more heavy

and not only roses this time. I have tried Salomé and Siren. Neither a great success for me. Any suggestions ???

  7. Dark and ominous, in my opinion these words really fit the name of the scent.

I'm getting mostly the violet, iris and black musk. This a dark violet scent to me, and it smells gothic. It is not a happy scent. There is a sadness about it. This makes me think white skinned, black haired, black dressed girls... I find violet scents extremely seductive in a different, unusual way. On the right person this scent can be perfect.

Perhaps I can purchase a bottle. :vamp:
