  1. This scent makes me smile. Its very very light and fruity. I smell a lot of the mango and kiwi, mixed in with a lot of pineapple.

I think what I like the most about it is that it is fruity and bright but doesn't smell like its an actual fragrance.

It smells like you just made fruit salad, then dumped the juice on your head.

  2. The description is right on. Oiled rawhide leather.

Its all leather, like being in a leather store and you fell into a display rack of leather. It gave me silly thoughts of the leather sketch on SNL.

I'm not a big leather fan. Once it softens, its easier to deal with, but I had to swap this one

  3. In the vial, its very chocolatey. Something I'd probably want as a room scent, but not to wear. i'm not a foody person.

I tried it on the skin anyway, and the chocolate went away and it became very orange and flowers. Nice, but not me. A little too fruity and flowery

  4. There is something in Snake Oil that goes very harsh and chemical on me. It sits on top of the vanilla and I just don't like it.

Snake Charmer is like Snake Oil without that harsh edge. The vanilla and benzoin blend well together and this is a vanilla scent I can actually wear.

  5. I was very worried about the lemon in this, as lemon goes to cleaning fluid on me.

But on my skin its all incense and grass, as if you're sitting in the wet grass watching the Torture King at work and all you can smell besides the grass is his incense and musk.

  6. I haven't been able to smell the 2004 Dia, but I was able to get an imp of it from Livejournal

It starts out being an overly strong floral that borders on giving me a headache.

Soon, it softens to a lovely cactus flower with tobacco floating over it. The chocolate comes in and sweetens it a little. Its a beautiful scent on dry down. I wish the tobacco was a little stronger. I don't get much of a candy note, but that is ok, as I don't really care for food scents.

  7. This is all booze. I was hoping for more of a tobacco, but its all booze and gave me a headache. I wound up having to wash it off. I set it aside and I'm going to give it a try again later, because I had such high hopes for this.

  8. In the vial, I smell the calla lilly and wisteria.

Then I spilled it on my rug. :P

On my rug, it smells of wisteria and white sandalwood.

When I rubbed my arm into the carpet (which hurt btw) I got a nice white sandalwood.

Everyone else agreed that the living room smelled good after that.

  9. ... Offerings of milk, honey and sweet grains were made to placate these creatures, and it is that the basis of the scent created in their name.

This smelled exactly like Alice on me, but without the carnation note. Milk and honey. Its nice, but I'll stick with my bottle of Alice

  10. In the vial, its very strong cherry. Not cherry cough syrup, but like sniffing a jar of marachino cherries.

On the skin, its still cherries, but with a little smokiness. Then the cherries soften and the tobacco comes out to play. The leather comes in too.

This is a very cozy scent and I absolutely adore it. I'm a little sad that the formulation was changed, but I did manage to snag a bottle of the 2004 version from a forum member.

  11.

Love in the Asylum, a recent limited edition (meaning it shouldn't be TOO painful to find,) was a nice rose-tobacco-incense scent.

While I haven't smelled it, I also have heard someone say Dracul had a nice tobacco note in it.

Non-BPAL, Geparlys' Darkness comes to mind. It's little-known but much loved by many who do know it (in my experience). It is a somewhat sweet, but rather masculine tobacco/tonka blend. (I figure since it's for a car masculine edge doesn't matter!) It's a bit hard to find anywhere but on E-Bay, but you usually can get it fairly cheap there.

Dracul didn't like me. I'm not too sure about the Rose part, as it really REALLY hates me, but tobacco AND tonka!!!????

    *stalks on ebay for it*

  12. Can anyone recommend tobacco notes from anywhere and everywhere?

Candles by Cows doesn't have the tobacco candle anymore. *pouts*

I've tried Medicine Show, Hellfire, and Santo Domingo (and have 5mLs of them now) as well as Elegba and Perversion.

I want a good tobacco scent for my car. His name is Rupert and if you saw him, you'd know right away he needs to smell of tobacco.

So recommend me ANY tobacco scents!

  13. Oh poo. I've been trying every sominum imp i can get my paws on. This is the only one that hasn't really worked for me.

Its very sharp in the imp and I can't figure out what it smells like. I put it on, then I figure it out.....

    Tiger Balm.

Which reminds me of falling asleep in PAIN as I only use Tiger Balm when I really have to because I don't like the smell.

I've tried Somnus and Oneiroi and been sleepy almost instantly. This one is making me a little ill to my stomach.

Its going in my swap pile......which makes me a little sad. :P

  14. I have a raging fetish for older british men, so I LOVE this.

On me, I'm getting pipe tobacco, the leather, and a little wine, with a slight bit of smokey incense in the background

This has incredible throw and staying power. I sweated my toushie off in 2 dance classes in a row and I can still smell it.

I want my house to smell like this. I want to smear it on the nearest boy and be naughty. Someone find me an old british man to put this on!

  15. I have very bad sleep issues. I have 2 sleep disorders and I had a dr who took it as a personal challenge to put me to sleep.

So needless to say, I wanted to try the Sominum blends, but I wasn't sure if they'd work.

Oneiroi is a very soft, pleasant blend. I have a jasmine vine outside my house and lots of trees. The lavender and jasmine were the top notes, but the white sandlewood softened them. Its very much like being outside around 3am in my backyard in May (I'm in Louisiana) I would want my house to smell like this.

On the sleep factor, I put some on my temples after I've taken my sleep meds. It usually takes me about 45 minutes to fall asleep even with the sleep meds, but with Oneiroi, maybe 10 minutes at most and I have very vivid dreams.....maybe sometimes, not the most pleasant dreams. It seems like with Oneiroi, I dream about things in my life blown up to huge proportions, sometimes comical, sometimes bad.

  16. This is a very golden, warm scent

It doesn't remind me of the Lion in the Wonderland books though. It reminds me of Aslan, from the Narnian Chronicals. It reminds me of the moment that Aslan returns from the dead and Susan and Lucy rush forward and bury their face in his mane. I imagine this is what it would smell like.

  17. I thought this smelled like food on me. I wasn't sure if I liked it or not. I let my ex smell it on my wrist and he immediately turned his back on my quickly and said it was nice.

I told him some people on the boards said it smelled like sex.

He turned around and said, "I don't know if it smells like sex, but I got an erection as soon as I smelled it"

and thats why he turned his back on me.

He spent the rest of the night trying to sniff me.

  18. In the Vial I got spicy almond.

I swipe it on my wrist and sniff and I got......

    PEPPERONI PIZZA????

I was confused. After a while, it started to smell like I was eating pepperoni pizza in a head shop.

Then it faded to all head shop. I really wanted this one to work on me *pouts*
