    Dia de los Muertos

2009 version: I only get floral from this. I'm sad, I really wanted some leaves, incense, chocolate, and tobacco to come out. It's a pretty floral, but I have other favorites.

    Clarimonde

Clarimonde is pretty good. I get a bright rose, tempered by something a little powdery and also a bit sweet. It smells classic, or antique, in a good way. It totally evokes a classic vampire. I don't know how this is possible, but it is. BPAL is amazing.

    The Girl

The Girl is definitely a cousin to Antique Lace on me. The Girl is a little less warm and a little more floral, but the soft vanilla is identical. I liked it, but it disappeared after a few hours. I'll keep the imp, but I don't think I'll get a bottle.

    T-minus 2.5 Days!

This morning, I wanted to go to brunch...but it was breakfast burritos, which aren't that exciting to me. So my sweet boyfriend made me hashbrowns and biscuits and gravy from scratch! It was so nice. I wasn't feeling that great thanks to lady troubles, so I even fell asleep while he was grating 3 pounds of potatoes by hand. I caught up on my laundry today, not a super interesting day around here. Yesterday, I went to the VegFest and sampled all sorts of vegan stuff, including chocolates, marshmallows, and ice creams! I also got to try this new "cheese" everyone's been talking about. I also went to my local Lush and and scored free stuff, because it was a pirate party for Talk Like a Pirate Day! I got a huge bottle of Olive Branch for my boyfriend and I to share. He doesn't like to admit it, but he likes to use Lush! I make him wash with Sea Veg soap and use Dream Cream on his eczema. It got rainy yesterday and it looked like Portland again...but today the sun came back. I'm conflicted because I would like to enjoy summer a little longer, but I'm also ready for it to be fall. Well, it's going to be 7 months of rain, so I guess I should get as much sun as I can. I perused the Carnaval Diabolique today, after someone on the threads said there might be an update soon. I have not tried anything from CD yet. If you happen to have any decants laying around that don't work for you, I would be excited to try anything. I made a list, but it's just for me to know which I'm eying. Don't worry about it, you really don't have to look at it. Carnaval Diabolique Midnight on the Midway Xanthe, the Weeping Clown Theodosius, the Legerdemain Antonino, the Carny Talker Arachnina, the Spider Girl Any Snake Pit, especially Temple Viper, but not Green Tree Viper Zarita, the Doll Girl Ashlultum Cytherea Dionysia Gweneth Inez

    Less than a week!

Oh my gosh, I can't believe that I have less than a week 'til I'm 21! I went shopping for a dress and I found two! Plus some fun fancy earrings...and gorgeous black peep toe heels (vegan) by Steve Madden. I also took advantage of Victoria's Secret deals and got $14 undies for free, plus $10 off my bra. I love shopping, but I especially love it when I can use deals, For my birthday, my friends + family are going out to an all vegan Italian restaurant, then hitting a swanky bar called 820. Lucy Brennan, the mixologist at 820 has a lot of press buzz about her. Her drinks look amazing, and she even teaches classes where you can learn how to make some of her recipes. 820 drink menu I'm totally eying the Velvet.

    Etsy

Ok, so I was farting around Etsy and I found some cool stuff. You don't have to get me stuff from it, I just wanted to show you some things I was into. Maybe it will help give you some insight?! My Etsy Favorites I picked some items and sellers that I thought had neat products. It was 80 degrees here today! That's a little odd for Portland. Not unheard of, but I was hot. This weekend is the VegFest and I'm really looking forward to it. I will also be pampering myself with a hair cut/color, and a Lush party. It's so nice to have something to look forward to during the workweek, huh? Ok, I'm watching the Food Network and they are killing me with desserts. I'm going to go scavenge for something sweet.

    51

Here's my switch witch blog! Ok, I will try to give my witch some clues about my personality. Today I went to my acupuncture appointment, then got my eyebrows waxed. I have to feel good and look good! I ate lunch at one of my favorite vegan restaurants, Blossoming Lotus, and I was disappointed to see that the ice cream flavor of the day was mint, because that's pretty much the only flavor I hate. It's sunny and hot here today so I'm wearing 51. I also have on a shirt that shows off one of my 3 tattoos. Love, ducky P.S. Sometimes I don't know what to write about myself! I'm trying.

    Ideas for my Witch

Seriously, witch, I will be happy with whatever you bestow upon me! Don't feel obligated to listen to these lists. I just wanted to have something for you if you want help. My Wishlist Products I would like to try. Other stuff I've been eyeing... Any of the BPTP babydoll t-shirts in size small. I love dangly earrings and necklaces/pendants. I also have size 0 stretched ears. I would love a scent locket, and maybe someday I'll get a BPAL one! But I saw some pretty, more affordable lockets on Etsy. And they had bird designs, too! I'm definitely intrigued by soy wax tarts. You guys are such enablers! Dream Tarts caught my eye because it looks like theirs are vegan. I don't have a warmer, though. Something I don't have yet in BPAL-dom - imp or bottle storage. I would love any sort, be it travel or larger. I could use a cute draining soap dish. I love socks! Really, patterns, creatures...I like lively socks. Except wool. I like snuggly stuff, like blankets and scarves too. I really do love birds of all sorts, especially waterfowl. I like sea/turquoise/aqua blue, and most shades of purple. I love vegan lollipops, most are. I like to try new kinds & I'm a fruity flavor kinda girl.

    Antique Lace

Mmmm Antique Lace. At first, I got this weird red licorice note from it and I was concerned. Never fear, it dried into warm creamy vanilla with light floral-y bits. It is just snuggly and delightful. I walked into an old musty house (that my family is cleaning out) after I put on Antique Lace and my aunt and uncle said "Omg what was that!? You smell good, come back here." It can cut through must, what more could you ask of it!!? You can put it on at night or to sleep, but it won't put you to sleep if you don't want it to.

    51

51 is a little loud when it's wet, but as soon as it dries it's very nice. It has a hint of fruitiness and a hint of floral but it's not only fruit/floral. I don't know what else to call it, but there's some neat notes that must be the salt flats and air. It's definitely a creamy bright glowing green.

    Seraphim

This is great! It's sweet (is that the wisteria?) and gently rosy, but not overpowering. I think the sandalwood and frankincense are quietly holding everything in and tying the notes together. It's definitely floral, but there's something more to it. Very well blended, nothing is amping on me.

    Plastic Pink Flamingo

Vigilant day-glo guardians of lawn and patio, stalwart protectors of the home. Pink sugar-crusted marshmallow, dandelion, and sap. I was nervous at first because I got that plastic note straight out of the bottle. But then 10 minutes after I put it on it became warm and soft and snuggly-sweet. All traces of plastic or Play-Doh are erased and it's absolutely divine.

Smoky Moon 2009: Tristesses de la Lune

This is my first 'unsniffed' bottle purchase, and I'm so excited because this is amazing on me! Somehow I just knew this would work. It's light and wispy and pale. I get very light woods, nothing dark and heavy, but still woody nonetheless. I love it so much.
  14. Smoky Moon is just amazing on me (Soft sandalwood, nicotiana, and velvety orris drifting over lustrous pale musks, stephanotis, elemi, and cyclamen.) It's light and woody. Anyone have anything that reminds them of Smoky Moon?

    Regan

I really thought I would like this...but my skin turned it into baby powder and play-doh. I'm sad. It was really sweet in the imp.

    Mouse's Long and Sad Tale

In the imp, this smelled so good and warm and sweet. But after I put it on, it turned into freshly powdered baby butt! I mean, a really fabulous and expensive baby powder...still, it was too powdery. I was really hoping I could wear this. Maybe I'll use it as a room scent.

    Croquet

Croquet is so good! It smells sweet and fruity in the imp. As it dried, it became a happy citrus grounded with rose, patchouli and sage. It's rich, but light green. I'm probably going to wear this all the time when it gets hot this summer.

    The Caterpillar

Ok, so once upon a time here in Portland, there was an awesome music store right next to a Lush shop. The music store smelled very incense-y, and the Lush smelled, well, like Lush. So the Caterpillar smells exactly like that street corner did! It's crazy. I love this as a scent memory, but I'm not sure I'll wear it as perfume. I'll keep my imp, though!

    Black Hellebore

I love hellebores, so I absolutely had to try this. I got a little worried when I read the reviews, though. I shouldn't have worried. This smells absolutely wonderful on me! Wet, it smelled green and floral. On me, it smells like a rich and dark purple floral. It's a little warm, and a little sweet. I can still smell a little green coming through, too. I didn't get any powder or any sour from it, I think my skin melds well with peony. I love it and I'm buying a bottle.
  20. Oh, cool! Thanks. Mmm, maybe we'll get one like that soon.
  21. Does anyone know of something that smells like I Should Coco soap from Lush? It has coconut, orange, coriander and vetivert. For some reason this just smells so good to/on me.
