  1. I had found recently that rose scents don't really work well on my skin.. BUT this was an exception!

Wet: I could smell a bit of a citrus smell with rose and something else but the citrus quickly faded away

Dry: my nose is really unsophisticated. But over time it smells like rose-scented incense. Which I think is absolutely lovely. I probably won't wear it much as a perfume, but for use in sleeping or meditating I think it will work really well.

It kinda makes me feel ethereal and feminine as I sniff it on me :D

  2. In Imp: floral but sweet.. nice

Wet: oooo!! apples! delicious apples with some rose

Dry:Rose amps up to cover the apples. :( Which I don't like

Overall: I thought I was really gonna love it b/c of how it smells wet... but it just turns into total rose. Which is "o.k." but not great... a bit of a let down...

  3. I know what you mean, I do love the smell of delicious delicious cake!

I've smelled the standard "cakey" scents and they just haven't worked for me either. Beaver'versary is quite amazing in the bottle, but is awful on my skin (and I have no scent locket atm). Closet and Eat me were gross on me as well

    My cakey love is...

MB: Underpants!! Hard to get sadly, but it worked for me amazingly! (while Biggercritters & Closet didn't work at all)

But otherwise, I've resorted to more choco scents to fill the void :D

Though, many commercial scents/lotions make very wonderful cake/foody scents too. They're no BPAL, but it works when you have a craving for something in particular that you haven't found in BPAL...

Hope you find something that works for you!!

  4. I totally agree that this smells a lot like dryer sheets, which I actually quite like. It reminds me of snuggling in a fresh-from-the-dryer flannel comforter. It's mostly coconut and musk to me. It feels a bit more floral and light as time goes by...

I can see it working for getting a little musky warmth in cooler months, but also smell great for a sexy coconut scent for those sunny summer days. It's not phenomenal compared to other scents, but nice enough to use the one bottle I have :)

  5. Leather, cognac, fig, ripe berry, and cream, stuffed into a plain brown paper bag.

In the bottle: smelled kinda cream-leather mixture with a bit of a floral notes for me.

On skin: I can smell juicy red berries and freshly-conditioned leather. But the cream smooths and blends it all together. I really like the creaminess of it, and the berries. But the leather I couldn't really decide on. Too much leather makes me feel nauseus, and that note in the blend is prominent enough where I felt that maybe it would make me dizzy and sick over time.
And after wearing it an hour, I really couldn't say if I liked it or not.... So I was going to swap it.

BUT in the last week I'd tried it a few more times.. and each time I'm liking it more and more. The leather gives this air of sophistication, and makes me feel like i've finally grown up to be a smart, successful executive (but those berries keep it a bit sexy and flirty too)! I find that it lasts a REALLY long time on my skin, and after 6 hours or so, the leather and berries calm and so there's this feminine creaminess that smells quite lovely. But I can still smell it faintly on my skin the day after I put it on (even with washing my hands throughout the day!)

And so I think I'm going to have to get another bottle (or 2 since my roommate likes it too) for when I actually get that office gig :P

  6. This has an earthy mossy feel to it. It starts off very faint. I enjoy the greenery in this.

Though the longer I wear it, a cologne smell starts to grow. Still kind of faint, but the cologne kind of takes over while on my skin ehh....

I would recommend this to men, I think it would be super sexy on them... but don't worry women, the moss and cologne are actually on the faint side.

But sadly this just isn't working for me......

  7. I like it, but not sure if I will keep it. I go back and forth on it.

Wet, it almost smelled like spicy amber and pink bubblegum mix(yes, my nose is totally odd!) But that goes after like 10 minutes, and the incense and amber come forth more (though remain very light), and the spice becomes the note that holds it all together.......

I don't really like spicy/cinnamon notes, but it stays down pretty well as if it's being smoothed over with a light amber. But even with it behaving, it still is the predominant scent on my skin. Which I'm not sure if I love or not....

  8. I aslo agree that this doesn't really smell like white chocolate at all... very smooth milk chocolate! The violet is sugary and smells like purple-lightly sugared berries to me. The milk chocolate remains the dominant on my skin, with light breaths of the violets thrown in. I like it that way because it with every whiff, it seems like just chocolate, but then surprises me with those wonderful violets!

The smell is lovely and simple, doesn't morph and stays true to the in-bottle scent. I adore it (my favorite of the chocolates)! And am happy I got a backup bottle, though I may need ONE more lol :D

  9. Wet: I loved it in the bottle and on my skin. Fresh wet peonies and light greenery. For me it hit as a very different and unique smelling-floral scent.

Dry: Once it dried, the peony turned into a heavy "perfume-y" scent. It reminded me of an expensive generic perfume.

Summary: Just too much like a generic perfume after drydown. Wish it smelled as it did in bottle...

  10. I was dying to try this since it seems to be one of the most-loved scents!

Wet: very strong and I disliked it.

On Skin: that heavy cloying scent disappeared almost instantly and fell into a heavy heavy musk for me. It actually really reminds me of small furries having hot sex! Like a vulva that is glowing in heat! I was hoping for something a bit creamier and lighter.

Later: It definitely has strong and very long lasting throw. Out in the cold and wind, it lasted forever!

So basically while I can see what all the raves were about, it's a bit TOO much for me! ((i can't handle the vulva ;P)

  11. WOW... amazing.

It is a sweet, heady, creamy, exotic scent. I have a horrible nose for picking out notes, but this has now become my signature scent, and I feel sultry and sexy every time I wear it :wub2:

But while it's an incredibly exotic scent, it stays close to the skin so that it still works during the day or at work ;P

I am in love :) and will have to hoard it!

  12. One of my favorites!

Wet: sugary, but smells more of butter rum then vanilla

Dry: the vanilla and sandalwood amps up and makes it smell so sweet and creamy!

    quite wonderful :wub2:

((though odd, I have Underpants from 3 different sources and while 2 are very similar... one actually smells quite different--as if there's no butter rum! but I still love it :P ))

  13. I was looking so forward to the wonderful smell of sugar and candied goodness!

Wet and dry: smelt just like grape cough medicine to me :(

Though after 3 hours it finally settled into a sweet candy smell. And while that's nice, I can't sit through 4 hours of grape to get to the sweet aftermath.

So off to swaps it goes!
