musky and sweet in turns. This is a beguiling scent. I thought I hated coconut. I may not. I'm going to try this one again and see how much I reach for it. I'm surprised at how much I like this. It's… seductive. Almost vanilla, almost chocolate, almost... almost... kind of like a pearl itself, it shifts and yet the shifting of the color reveals the wholeness of the thing itself. it shifts colors and yet is seamless. wow. i'm especially impressed because i *never* would have ordered this for myself. seriously, i don't really like coconut all that much. when i smell coconut, i often think of overly scented (and slightly rancid) cheap skin lotion. but this is different. its' dark the way Centzon Totochitn and Perversion are dark. but different too. i very well may be picking up 5ml of this in my next order. i'm just so surprised by this! i never would have thought i would like this scent! n.

this smells bright and shiny to me, I think its because of the orange blossom -- a very clean innocent smell to me. This is cute, but not what I think of when I think of succubi. Maybe because it's all citrus/flower on me, and no clove. pretty, but a bit soapy. and i have several scents that i use in my soap already. it's actually a scent i'd give a little girl to wear -- and i'd call it something else when i gave it! n.

this scent is a gentle citron, a light sweetness lingers at the back that i cannot identify. it makes me think of a bright pale spring green. if your skin supports the lighter tea type scents, i think this will work well for you. it's quite lovely, but very imperceptible on me, and even to just my nose. n.

Moscow is a sophisticated, almost commerical (though richer and deeper than commercial implies) floral with fabulous throw and a golden richness. this is one scenet where the amber is not getting amped up for a change of pace, though some of the jasmine is. i keep gettijng wafts going by. i'll be interested to see if this becomes one of those that i just keep going back to until i realize that i need a bottle as i start scouring around for another imp. of course, each one i've thought that of, i've ended up getting a bottle! this is heady and rich and sweet. there's something decadent about it. this is kind of what i'd hoped the Haunted Palace owuld be on me. hmmmm. but a gorgous scent. really. n.

i smell like cedar pencil shavings. not my thing. ah well. i have Tezcatlipoca to comfort me ETA: weird. the throw on this is a ripe muscadine grape, some sweet earth and a smidge of wood. it's only against my skin that this smells like pencil shavings. i won't wear it becasue if i smell good, i want to smell good all the way to the skin. but if you can handle woodier scents, you'll most likely like this fruit & earth concoction. i wish i could wear it, and i can see why so many folk are crazy for it. n.

this is a dark, tangy and incense filled berry, as odd as that sounds. for me, it's almost too dark and deep, but i think if you are a fan of dark woods, incense, and very dark fruits, you'll like this one. this one's intriguing, but not me. n.

this is kind of medicinal on me. I think this could be really lovely though on someone. Maybe a man? n.

i'm not really a foody scent kind of girl. but i orderd the Beaver because i want all the moons and i put it on and : i smelled like Junior's Cheesecake *exactly*. and it's got some serious throw! my arm was down by my side and i kept getting whiffs of cheesecake. it's GREAT! i won't be hunting down anotehr bottle, but this is going to be perfect for holiday parties and parties where there's a bunch of people eating and the like. ETA: when i wrote this reveiw, i tried it on my arm. last night i had a yen for Beaver Moon so i swiped some on with a wandcap along my clavicles. whoa mama! way more intense. this sucker has got SERIOUS THROW. also, it LASTS. i suck up a lot of skin scents, but i put this on at 9 pm last night, and this morning when i woke up i could still smell it. and not just "smell it a little". i could smell it wafting up from my clavicles. so, a little dab'l do ya. on the 17th of december i have two holiday parties to go to. i'm wearing this, no question about it! oh, and whoever wrote that thing about the graham cracker crust? totally. about two hours after i put this on, graham cracker crust. i also want to say that it doesn't really smell like Junior's CHeesecake. it smells like taking a fresh cheesecake straight out of the oven. warm, still kinda gooy, grahamcrusty goodness, cheesecake. ETA: i did end up wearing this to two parties on 12/17. about 3 hours in, i was on a subway platform in brooklyn, waiting for the train to go to party #2 when i began thinking about this Boston Cream Pie (a vanilla cake with custard and chocolate icing) that i'd made for my birthday one year. and then i thought about the vanilla cake with mocha buttercream i'd made for the BFs birthday this year.... and then i realized that Beaver Moon had finally given me that cupcake smell! DELICIOUS. n.

well blended and pretty, but it doesn't knock my socks off. n.

I can't decide if like this or not! It's reminding me of Tez around the edges of it, but different. It's morphing a lot too. Right now it's a sort of leather, smoke, dry grass and earth patchouli right now. Earlier it was something else. No lime for me though and that makes me sad. this scent is a true morpher. it's really interesting. i'm not sure how often i'm goign to reach for it though! hrm. we'll have to see. i'm very intrigued by it though and keep sniffing my arm. n.

oh, my poor wood-hating skin. This scent flips between a gorgeous, elegant, seductive and unusual scent, and B/O. when it's good it's a richly dark scent, edged with peony and mandarin, so well blended that they cannot be picked apart. if your skin supports woods, i HIGHLY recommend this scent. it's truly a masterpiece. n.

i love violets and have been searchign for one that will stick to my skin. sadly, the Raven is not it. i have... issues with a lot of the musks. and dark musks hate me, they get very manly/sweaty on me, and i mean manly in that drunk fratboy kinda way. so now i smell like a drunk fratboy, with the faintest air of violets at the edges. n.

in the vial: whoa -- AMBER. wet on skin: whoa -- AMBER dry ons skin: faint amber. in case you didn't know, i have a tendency to amp amber. and a tendency to turn red musk into baby powder, which is why the scent later becomes faint amber as the babypowder is making the AMBER become amber. sadly, not for me. i'd love to tell people that i was wearing Spellbound! what a fab name. n.

a lightly spiced skin musk. I like my perfume to have bit more throw, but this is suble and lovely and warm. Very dry. There is a slight creamyness to it too which perhaps is in the carnation. Not very "me" but I'm glad I got to try this light oriental. the best part? Cassia seems to be OK on my skin, and neither does the red sandalwood go bad (two notes i've worried over). ETA: it's a been a bit of time now and i'm beginning to realize that this one has more throw than i first thought -- but tis' such a subtle "wrap you up cozily" scent that it was difficult for me to notice it, actually! a bit creamy with the faintest hint of almond milk. i am liking it a lot more now, and will have to experment again. n.

is it the black currant that lends this scent it's Sweet-Tart candy edge? Good to know I amp that sucker up. Too bad because this started off as rather mysterious, and hard to pin down, though I wanted to sniff more. It's ending up as Sweet Tarts and that's not what i'm going for. i'd say, if your skin is not one that amps berry, you should give this a try. it's really intriguing in the bottle -- i can't really tell what's what, but it's extremely alluring and i just want to keep sniffing it to figure it out. if you amp berry, well. you know! n.

crispe and cold, this is reminiscent of Swank, but with Juniper rather than pomegranate. more than that, it's a high-quality gin martini (think bombay sapphire, or Hendersons!) with a lemon twist -- no olive, and certainly not a Gibson this scent, amazingly enough, is extremely cold. actually, i could see this being extremely refreshing during the summer. It's lovely, but for me not as a perfume. I'd love to use this one for a soap and have that bright cold juniper rise up around me. It's a ton of fun this scent! i bought 5ml of this unsniffed for my best friend who is a total martini hound. it will be part of a trio of BPALs for her this xmas of Twenty-One, Swank (already has and loves an imp) and Persephone (loves rose and pomegranate). good stuff! (and i swear, i only tried a drop of her xmas perfume!!!) n.

gently sweet, innocent, slightly briny, and ethereal, this perfume perfectly captures the beautiful and dead Annabel Lee. i cannot seperate her notes, but she smells like the poem. i sniff it and i see the ocean with bright moonlight on the waves, and a man sleeping on top of a tomb, dreaming of his lost love. it smells wistful to me. damp, and cool. i love this! i was the most excited for this, and for Lenore, and i'm so glad they both work so well on me. n.

intoxicating honey and lily -- and a honey that doesn't smell like sex musk. i could actually wear this out of the house! usually BPAL honey just smells like sex, but whoa, not this. lickable. n.

sadly, something in this is kind of funky on me, I'm pretty sure it's the "crypt musk". A lot of musks don't work on me, and this is another one. If Devil's Night smells good on you, this one will too. If it makes you smell like a sweaty frat boy, pass on this. stupid nose and skin chemistry! n.

The shadowy, fitful scent of nightmare, rife with ill-omen: osmanthus and tuberose over pulsating, heated skin musk, spiked carnation, night phlox and vesper iris. whereas the Sleeper doesn't work even a teensy bit on my skin, Dreamland is just gorgeous. It's sweet and lovely, ethereal and delicate. i cant really describe it better than that. sorry! n.

This is a soft and lovely skin scent that is reminiscent on my skin to Alice and The Apothecary. in other words: it's innocent, creamy and comforting like Alice, with a gentle ginger in the Apothecary. also, the ambrosia brings this a lovely sweetness that is not sugar-like. the honey is not overly strong in this, so the honey-wary need not fear. Quite lovely, and I'm glad I orded a bottle unsniffed. I'm not sure how often I'll wear it, but I don't think I'll swap it either. I'm betting that like Alice, i'll end up reaching for it, far more often then i expected to. n.

Sadly for me, there is something in this that just smells wrong on my skin. Perhaps its' the spicy-cinnamon that others have found, but there is a fake-cinnamon that's going on here and isn't working on my skin. It's sad because what I smell in the vial is really quite lovely and mysterious. this bottle will make someone, somewhere, happy. n.

mostly, I smell amber. It's a lovely amber, don't get me wrong, but I seem to amp it up over everything else. While I like amber, I don't want to wear just amber. I wish that I could smell the other notes in this (I could in the bottle!) but on me this is alllll amber. as usual, whatever is the most popular scent, it doesn't work on my skin. someone is going to be really happy when i swap them this! i want to reiterate: this is in no way a "bad" scent -- not even on my skin. it's just that i'm not a huuuuge amber fan, and my tendency to amp it ruins the lovliness in the bottle. *sighs* i guess i will just have to console myself with Lenore, and Spirits of the Dead and A City in the Sea. oh! how i suffer! n.
