  1. Huzzah! :joy: This is fantastically peppery with cardamom and nutmeg - no cinnamon or clove overload like I usually get! This is the perfect spice blend to my nose. Foody, but not *too* foody if you know what I mean. Warm and comforting like things baking in the oven while you putter around the kitchen on a gray winter afternoon. Please don't change, little imp!

  2. I was very hopeful for this one, but a little worried about the caramel note, (the caramel in Melainis turned my most anticipated Lupercalia into Coca-cola). No such thing here! The caramel is present, but behaving itself and is nicely subservient to the musk, patchouli and a bit of petitgrain, I think. I'll be trying this one again once it's sat for a while. I can only imagine it will get darker and more luscious as time goes on.

  3. I was hoping for a cousin of Gunpowder with this one. Instead it starts out as a very nutty, warm scent with hazelnut the primary focus. As it sat on my arm though, the berries started to come out and sweeten things up. A dusty bit of hay and carrot stirred in towards the end to make me smell pretty much like granola  Not the feedbag, horsey scent I get from Gunpowder, but foodier and very nice indeed.

  4. I usually get too much pumpkin out of the pumpkin patch (I know, what did I expect?) but this is a pretty good mixed up scent :) Rich, buttery pumpkin and a dose of fir at first. Then the tomato leaf comes in and sticks around much better than in Jersey Devil, the only blend I can remember with tomato leaf. I think Planting Moon had it too, but this is sweeter and more dessert-ish.

  5. I was a little worried about this one when it first arrived. Took it awhile to settle down. I didn't get anything great from it at first and was really disappointed since I'm usually good friends with red musk and vanilla. Dratted clove...After giving it a few weeks and trying it again though, it's really blossomed :D Dark, rich red musk with sweet vanilla and a pinch of herbs. No more clove overload thank goodness! Beautiful!

  6. I don't know what I was expecting from this, but it is my surprise favorite of the vamp ladies :wub2: Maybe it's skin musk? That does really well on my skin and a clean, fresh, feminine sweetness is there too. Yup, like MeiLin said, "damp and sweet". Win!

  7. I am so fricking glad I added this onto a decant circle I was in on a whim. This smells amazing! I know it's the skin musk and there's a sweet addition from the oriental perfume. Low on rose which is fine with me!

  8. Very generous frimp from a forumite :) I had to give it a try since I started watching Supernatural lately hehe

Mmmmm I see why people like this one so much! Lots of bourbon vanilla (yes!!) and a spicy bay rum base. Hyssop is always nice on me too. It's masculine and spicy with just the right hint of sweetness. Keeper.

  9. Dry, dusty cologne-ish with a dark rose scent lurking in the background. I don't know how often I would wear this, but I think I like it best of the summer roses.

eta: I let it age a few months and the sandalwood really comes out now! A much more masculine scent with a hint of dark rose swirling in its depths.

  10. This was a surprise hit for me out of all the vamps :) I love poppy in other oils and the dusty sweetness of the poppy flowers is lovely. Throw in the fantastic earthy and sweet grass smell of the peat and I'm hooked! It's true love for me and Ms. Ariadne.

  11. I was all set to love this one with the juniper, musk, labdanum, and violet leaf. Then something went...weird. I think it has to be the chestnut trees. Smells sweet and nutty with a caramel(?) vibe to it. It's odd. I've never had chestnuts before, but sweet and nutty does not really mix well with the other scents that were trying to do their thing on my skin :( Rarr.

  12. Man, this is a good one! I tend to love the dark, smoky, masculine scents but I was surprised this one is such a hit since I don't usually get along with clove or brimstone. I almost thought there was vetiver rattling around in there, I liked it so much... Smells fantastic on DH too. Good throw. Smolders and smokes on the skin

  13. I'm going to echo the previous poster and say Pine. Lots of pine. The piniest piece of pine that ever pined. oy. I think my DH would get a headache just from looking at the imp. I like it, though ;) This will be a "wear when the sweetie is gone" scent. i'm hoping the next time I try it that I get more plum...

  14. What is going ON with me?!? I usually hate foodie notes. And I haven't had much luck with the snakepit,

    Until now.

It's cocoa and snake oil. It's amazing. And I'm carrying it around in my purse as my go to bpal. I never expected a chocolate scent to get me the way this one does. Fantastic!!

  15. I was so sure this would be the bees-knees on me with favorites like bourbon vanilla and smoky vanilla bean. So maybe it's the chamomile that drags this down? I usually like chamomile though :huh?: It's hard to say why this isn't fantastic on me. It's good. It's nice, but it doesn't blow me away as i thought it would. I'm going to let my decant age and see what happens. Maybe she just needs a little time.
