  1. God, I WISH I got what everyone else is getting. I'm still in search of a good field scent since Blade of Grass covers my fresh, sweet, dewy grass needs. But this is the same problem as I get with Scarecrow that it turns to harsh, chemical smell that reeks of nail polish remover. It's heartbreaking!! :cry2: Why won't you love meeeeeee?!?

It's such a beautiful scent in the vial that I may finally hunt down a scent locket type thing.

  2. Cassia-caked cocoa coconut over angel food cake.

I have a decant from the lovely saralaughs and it went on pretty much the same as it did for her :) More of the cocoa going on at the beginning and bright, sweet smells that could have gone synthetic but most definitely did not. It dried down to sweet crumbles of coconut on top of white cake and frosting. Delectable and comforting!

  3. Ha I definitely get Little Bird's "spicy tomato" description ;)

I feel like I should be crazy about this - it's a bit like my beloved Potter's Field but the weeds smell is out of control and lacks the dirt/cedar aspects of Potter's Field that I crave. Spicy tomato weeds and a dark, snarly background. It's very cool and atmospheric but I don't think it will get as much play from me as Christmas On the Moor or other weed and dirt blends.

  4. I'm not quite sure what to make of this one...it started out as a fabulous musk and linen combo with a subtle, warm sweetness. No overblown blood note that usually happens for me but after the dry-down I'm left a few hours later with just a comforting, warm and sweet linen scent. It's nice and extremely subtle but I'm not sure if it's a keeper yet.

    Definitely worth a try though!

  5.

    Ravyn,

I use Gmail exclusively, but I only have a few google docs for personal use so I'm not that familiar with them. Is this something I can sync so that it updates automatically, or will it have to be physically updated by someone periodically?

I'm trying to decide which spreadsheet to download. All the different choices are a tad bit overwhelming and the reading I'm doing isn't really helping that much. (believe me, it's me, not you guys! You guys are great!)

Sorry I didn't see this for a while! Y'know, I'm not sure how it would work  I did just add a whole pile of things to the google docs spreadsheet. I'm also more than happy to email you a copy. Hope you found just the right one for you :smilenod:

  6. Spreadsheet is updated with all the new delights (Batty, #occupywallstreet, etc.) :wub2:

I'm happy to email a copy, or the link to the GoogleDoc is in my signature below for downloading or perusing. Sorry if it was only a preview the last time I linked it! It's set up for shared access now :P

  7. Another singer here who auditions on a semi-regular basis. I do have certain scents (Gennivre and Theodosius) that I'll wear to make me feel confident and double for day-job interviews. I'll only use a tiny, tiny bit so that they don't impinge on anyone's personal space and I'll either put it on my temples or a wee dab on a wrist so I can huff it surreptitiously  My scent choices tend to depend on what role I'm going for and/or what monologue/aria I'm trotting out. Gennivre's my light sweet scent (maybe partly because she's an artist herself), Theodosius is for less of the ingenue and more of a mature character, and Madame Moriarty's for a particularly vampy role ;) I'd love to go with Snake Oil or Shub or some other total sexpot oils but I don't think I'd risk the possibility of them getting too strong if I got super nervous and my body temperature spiked, y'know? Good luck with all the auditioning!

    ETA: Love your avatar!!!

  8. Spreadsheet updated with BPAL and BPTP weenies :wub2:

What a great series of oils and smellies this year!!

Thanks to a DH who works with Google Docs, the link below leads to a downloadable version of the spreadsheet (the Download button is underneath the Doc's name, "Bpal Rayvn1-Hackess Spreadsheet.xls"

    BPAL/BPTP Spreadsheet

I'm still happy to email it for those who prefer to go old school like i do ;)

  9. I've looked for this darn Carnival scent for the last three years. No joke. So glad I finally got my hands on a decant! I can see why there wouldn't be as much of an audience for this guy, but I'm intrigued by the linen note.

This goes on almost sweetly floral - must be the hyssop. I love most of the blends I've tried with the hyssop note (Gennivre, etc.) and this eventually moves from sinuous floral to something hard to describe...it's like clean sheets that were once imbued with a fresh laundry detergent smell but have now sat in a closet in the dark only to turn up ten years later when you're moving. They're dusty and have the faintest hint of that old detergent and maybe that slightly cold and almost damp(?) feeling that things left in dark closets and garages in the Northwest sometimes get with all our drizzly weather. So yeah. It's hard to describe

  10. Wow, I could have sworn there was pepper in this! I get the honey and sugar right off the bat, but then with a prominent WHOMP it goes to manly-land :wub2: Peppery tobacco-tonka that's constantly sweetened up with the dark sugar! Woohoo! I'm a happy girl with this one - though it's a mite strong and I'll probably retest it soon before a final verdict.

  11. I was really looking forward to this one as a leap of faith into the land of fruity bpal. I love it in the imp vial and when it's wet! It's a sweet, fruit punch (in a good way) scent without the banana I was a little worried about. I waited for the chili to kick in since that would be a really awesome pairing, but suddenly it turned on me and became very candle/slightly plastic smelling :cry2: After that it grew fainter and fainter within about twenty minutes until it was gone altogether. My retest with a bit more oil had the same result. Sad! I may retest one last time before sending this one on to a new home.

  12. This is a great musk blend! Not too surprising since I love every note that's listed except for clove which thankfully doesn't rear it's unwelcome head :joy: (I'm surprised Siberian musk doesn't show up in other blends I've seen since I collect almost all the musk scents but the spreadsheet says no.) Dark and a little menacing with a great grounding in oppoponax and tonka. Lurve. I'm excited to see how it stacks up against my other musk blends!

  13. I was very excited to try the civet in this blend! It's a tricky one. I don't really get wood but rather dry herbs and barely any orange. The musky civet is also on board. It finally dries several hours later to orange and musk, but I'm not sure I can wait until it does :cry2:

  14. This is all honey and black pepper on me, the oakmoss (usually a death note) gave a harsher edge to the honey to keep it from going to sweet. Intense, but not something I'll use very often.

  15. The Hag should be filled with epic win for me, but for some reason I can barely smell it at all! Crazy! Maybe it's a weird skin chemistry day, but I've applied twice and only have the barest of bare hints of something vaguely dark smelling. Alas!

  16. oh, you are wonderful!! I've been meaning to update the spreadsheet, but just hadn't gotten around to it... so you are a marvel. I will be PMing you for a copy! :wub2:

 Hehe. Thanks stargirl! More than happy to do it! Appeals to my compulsive need to catalogue.

  17. So I started on this crazy spreadsheet project where I'm using Hackess's spreadsheet and putting everything in order: Excel spreadsheet with different tabs for organized Lupercalia, Yule, Halloweenie, Lunacy, GC, Gaiman, Salon etc. They will generally be organized by year and category etc. For me it is easier to see ALL GC in one place and all LE Yule or LE Lunacy in one place. Just helps keeping me organized. I really only have the GC and CD stuff finished and just started lunacy today, but here is the link! If you guys think you might want a copy let me know and once I am further along with it I'll see about making it so that you guys can all download it! So without further ado here it is...

Click Here for Preview of spreadsheet on GoogleDocs

I have completed tabs for GC impable, Gaiman, Salon, CD, and Lunacy, as I complete the other tabs (Lupercalia, Yule, Halloweenie, Other LE & Protos & Unreleased etc, Other Unimpable GC) I will post an update! If anyone wants this spreadsheet sent to them via email please PM me!

ETA: Also I may need help with it and what not for putting things in order! So I'll be posting here every now and then with my progress!

Cool! :) Would be a great option for people who dislike the Cmnd-F searching style. I may pick your brain on how to do a link to a GoogleDoc like that for the one I'm keeping - my first attempt was really wonky looking

  18. Hey there all you Hackess spreadsheet users! I've added all the updates from recent months for BPAL, BPTP, and TAL to my own spreadsheet. If anyone would like the updated spreadsheet feel free to PM me and I'll email you the Excel file. That GoogleDoc thing I had going on in my signature is just too damn awkward  I'll try grabbing a forumite and asking how to link the file in my signature like Hackess used to. (If you know how to do this I would love to know how!)

And thank god for Hackess' spreadsheet. I love it and I hope she's back around here soon :thud: I'm happy to keep doing it until then but please give me a prod if I forgot anything :poke:

  19. Hi all, I'm lost without Hackess' awesome spreadsheet! I followed the template she uses and made a spreadsheet of things released by the Lab since her last entry of Bony Moon. The link is below if anyone wants to add the entries to their copy of Hackess' spreadsheet. It looks a little weird since it's up there as a google doc, but if you cut and paste it into regular old Excel it goes into the correct format. Let me know if I forgot something or if it doesn't work! :)
