  1. I put off trying this one since I thought the wine would go bad on me as it often does. Not so! This is a fantastic dirt scent, strong and dark waves of black soil. Later a sweet grape juice element came into it, but not in a bad way. Keeper!

  2. Balkan fir sap, dark mosses, Greek Mountain tea flower, black pine, salty ocean spray, deep black earth, and a moon-touched magickal incense of sandarac, frankincense, and ravensara.

This is very similar to Ocrober on me. The moss comes through as leaves on my skin, I think. Dark, spicy, and earthy. Very sinister and murky smelling. So glad I have a bottle!

Edit ot say that as this has settled it's blossomed into a fantastic sun-warmed forest scent! Beautiful clouds of summer forest scent are billowing up to my nose from my arm. You know it's a good oil when you ifnd yourself repeatedly looking down at your arm, distracted by the yummy smell

  3. This may just be me, but I found a few blends reminiscent or extremely similar to Geek :wub2:

LE: Hua Mulan was Geek's younger, teenage sister - a "pink" Geek scent

GC: Nemesis is practically a dead ringer for Geek on me. Smells just like hiking or camping in the woods on a summer afternoon with the light slanting through the trees and ripe berry vines and tree sap sweetening the air into an orgasm of nature. Yeah...that's how much I like Geek

  4. Oh my, this is good on me! This started out wet as a slightly sharp, earthy wood scent. When it dried it amped into billowing clouds of scent that jerked my head down to arm, womdering "what is that amazing smell?!?" This smells just like a forest on a sunny summer day. It is the exact scent of sap, growing things, and fruit laden berry vines with the sun slanting through gaps in the forest trees. Vaguely reminiscent of Geek :wub2: This is bottle worthy to the extreme. Summer hiking and camping in a bottle. Wow!

  5. I sure get the plum in this one - and it's a Bensiabel/Prunella plum, not a Bordello plum, thank god! Berries and a great deal of opium to boot. Lush, purple scent. This is what I was thinking of when I heard there was a bpal called "Brides of Dracula". It's wild and sexy and unabashedly violent. After several hours it's become very pale and smells like weak fruit juice, but for a while there this was quite a scent! Keeper, I think.

  6. It's dirt! DIRT!!! I've been looking for a good bpal dirt scent that works on my skin and doesn't turn into mushrooms for so freaking long :D I thought the perfume would amp and drown any hint of dirt, but this is just dirt through and through (with a slightly sweet tinge, to be sure). O happy freaking day!!! I can't wait to try this with a rain scent to see if I get the "just rained on dirt" smell that is my holy grail. O frabjous day, calloo callay!

    It's late. I'm excited, what can I say? ;)

  7. Sweet bejeebus this is good on my skin! :wub2: I would not have guessed this had jasmine since that's one of my death notes more often than not. Tropical, fruity clouds of sweetness. This is pretty foody on my but in a good way. Such a good way! Smoky vanilla is the key here I think, and the honey isn't the overly clingy sort I get in other blends. Keeper, in a big, big way!

  8. Gentle and barely there sweet floral blend. Very commercial perfume-y on me. It is a little puff of scent surrounding my arm and is sooooo not me  I think this would be lovely on the right person though - heck, it's lovely on me, just not something I'd wear.

  9. I made a face when I first smelled Queen and thought I may need to wash my arm off. I'm glad I stuck with it, however, because it morphed into a powerful, seductive, and confident blend. Very spicy and commanding with just the right amount of herb and vetiver balanced with a touch of sweetness. This definitely achieves its listed goal in the description as far as I'm concerned.

  10. This opened a bit harsh with the labdanum and opoponax very front and center. Mellowed out quickly into a rich, dark scent :yum: I adore all the notes in this (every single one!) so it's not too surprising to me that I like it. I don't know if it's something I'll wear often - though it was pleasant, nothing really moved up to center stage to catch attention. Might try mixing it with Prunella or Bensiabel because a bit of plum would be fabulous with this I think...

  11. I just gotta say how happy your spreadsheet makes me, hackess! :wub2: Thanks so much for helping out those of us who get obsessive over our bpal lists ;)

(Using F5 on it is often so much quicker than looking through the reviews or doing a forum search that I mostly just use the spreadsheet when I want to find note listings)

Also, VERY excited about MeiLin's Perfoom site - can never have too many ways to track your bpal ;)

  12. Very light and green scent. I thought it would be ferns as in The Apothecary, but it was closer to A Blade of Grass without the GRASS smell of that one :D I'm so glad I have an imp of this! It's very light but very natural. Not a great deal of throw or staying power is the only downside to this oil.

  13. Gourds! This honestly smells like green, woody gourds straight off the vine. How cool that the lab could so perfectly capture this summer gardening scent! Herbal notes blend really well and I have to admit this is a keeper for when I need some imaginary gardening time.

  14. What the hell was I thinking? The lab's cologne tends to go really and I mean *really* wrong on me (Famine, Toad, Dr. Jekyll, etc.) :ugh: :run: But I thought Noooooo this one will be different! Dude. It's what I assumed went wrong with Famine (vomit) in concentrated form. Yikes.

  15. Named for the ambitious, vengeful poisoner Catherine deMedici, who used perfumes to perform her dark deeds. A sinful blend of orange blossom, rosemary and rose... allegedly the exact perfume she utilzed in her work.

I usually get strong doses of orange blossom or rose when they're in blends, but the rosemary is really dominating here. Strong, forcefully herbal and sharp to the nose. Good scent, but I'm not sure how often I'd wear it. It would be when I'm feeling villainous that's for sure ;)
