  1. The scent of Pele surprised me until I read that this is to represent her more gentle side. That's what this is gentle white flowers and cool breezes.

It didn't last very long on my skin but it was pretty while it lasted.

I probably wouldn't buy this but I will use up the imp.

  2. I smell a very green but sharp scent. There seems to be some citrus swimming around in there somewhere as well. I don't think I like the sharp undertone which makes me wriggle my nose.

As it was drying the scent did not change that much on me.

Unfortunately, I don't think this scent is for me.

    ADDED July 27:

    In the bottle

    rasberry and lovely light wood

    On

Wow, this is beautiful. The scent of the rasberry leaf is so nice, and the cedarwood is almost coco-like. The vetivert is doing it's best to get my attention but really it's not bad at all.

Now I smell the olive leaf.

This is one of the first imps I was given a year or more ago. The first time I was given this and tried it, I didn't like it.

Now I remember why. At the time I didn't realize about "morphing", but this just turns into something scary on my skin after about 5 minutes.

    30 minutes

    Throw:

    average

    Scent category:

    Fruity/green/woodsy

    Summary

At first the rasberry leaf is primary.

Then the rasberry leaf, cedarwood are primary with the olive leaf being the bottom note and the vetivert just sort of "hanging out".

    Purchase again?

No. No leaf-like for my taste.

    1-5 rating (5 being best)

  3. This smells of crushed red pomegranetes or any red berry for that matter. There's a cocktail scent underneath but it is not alcohol-y, It also reminds me of the way lipstick used to smell in the 40's, 50's or 60'3. All of this blended together are absolutely lushious and intoxicating.

This imp becomes a 10ml real soon. :P

    I highly recommend this one.

  4. I smell nice chocolate. Not too sweet at all but a very true chocolate scent I thought.

This is the first chocolate type scent I've tried other than Vice.

This is the kind of scent I would enable people with, maybe throw an imp of Bliss in their package. It's not too "scary" for anyone new to BPAL and... who doesn't like chocolate?

I may buy another imp or a 5ml of these when I'm done.

  5. I recently got an imp of Hespirades and I wasn't that excited about it. I put some on my wrists before I go to bed. (I find I can read scents a lot better that way) and I couldn't believe the apple I was getting, just golden apple through and through. I really started taking a liking to this. It lasted longer than some but not that long if you know what I mean. I wouldn't buy it again but I will finish the imp.

  6. This seems to be a scent that has no middle road.

My nose changed it's mind many times before finally deciding that this was a nice scent.

The aquatic ingredients are what's holding my nose hostage here. The florals "feel" white. The floral is strong too but the smells all go to their proper places on the dry down.

I smell a teeny amount of coconut? Strange. I also smell the banana type of smell that JJ_J writes about above.

I'd use up the imp but I don't think I'd buy it again.

  7. On my quest to find the perfect orange scent I came upon Seraglio-

Oranges, rose and clove at first whiff.

This is a stronger scent than some.

Dries down to cloves and an orange peel smell which is great and is along the line of what I was looking for.

Later, the rose comes out again and mixes with the clove and orange peel.

Unfortunately I didn't smell the sandalwood as much as I had hoped but it does seem to be there "holding" things together in the background.

And this scent is really alive, it doesn't seem to "lay down" after awhile as some do.

This is a sexier orange scent with almost too much rose scent for my taste but it knocks my socks off. I would recommed trying this.

ETA: This is now one of my Top Twenty blends. I love that spiced candied orange peel smell with the sensual rose.

  8. I like this.

It's orangey, sweet like honey, it's floral in a sweet way like gardenia or mimosa and it's minutely spicey. Altogether it represents a sort of childlike scent.

Lolita was also the first BPAL scent that I tried.

Maybe as I try each one I'll be raving like this about each one but I just had to say something about Lolita because it is nice.

  9. What a great thread ... add me to the long list of Lushies who are also looking for complimentary scents (I am just not big into Karma or Ginger, and "my signature scent," Andiamo by Borghese, has long since been discontinued so I am on my personal holy grail to find something new ... BPAL seems to be the place even ifit takes me a few orders to find the right thing!)

I did order Veil, Twilight and Envy as well as a random six imps ears and look forward to getting them ...

But can anyone tell me if there are any BPAL scents remotely like Waving Not Drowning, my very favorite Lush scent???? Or Ice Hotel?

Someone mentioned Pain being like Ice Hotel and I hadn't ordered it because I didn't know what pennyroyal was but maybe I'll get lucky and it will show up in my imps ear since I mentioned I loved lavender and mint!!!

But Waving Not Drowning ... now THAT would be a scent I'd love (lavender, Ylang-ylang, fennel and orange blossom but not quite as flowery as it sounds).

    Hi JazzieCazzie,

You may have already found out but yes, Ice Hotel and Pain are very similar as I found out today.
